The Stentor Student II is an excellent beginners viola recommended by several education advisors, music services and teachers.

Construction & Materials
The Stentor 2 is hand carved from solid tonewoods. The front is made from solid spruce and the back, ribs & neck are solid carved maple. The pegs & fingerboard are ebony and the viola is fitted with an alloy tailpiece that has integral adjusters. The instrument is finished with a golden-brown varnish and is also fitted with a Teka pattern hardwood chin rest.

Case
The Black case is lightweight with a integral cover. The interior is shaped to protect the viola and minimise movement when carrying. There is a full lid music pocket and two bow holders (one for a spare bow). The internal case blanket also helps protect the viola (especially the bridge). The case is supplied with two shoulder straps.

Strings
The Stentor 2 viola is fitted with Dogal strings that have a steel core and are bronze wound. They have a similar tension to strings made with a gut core, making a reasonably warm sound and suit beginners using the smaller sizes. To improve the sound of this viola, Bonners recommends you purchase Dominant Strings. The core of Dominant strings is made from a type of nylon called Perlon. This is then wrapped in aluminum which produces a much warmer and rounder sound than metal strings. Dominant strings are quick to hold their tuning - even when first fitted. Dominant strings are our preferred brand of string, and produce an excellent 'well rounded' tone, whether fitted to student violins or more professional models.

Availability & Delivery
This instrument is usually available from stock in the 15" and 15.5" Size, and is delivered using a courier service. Someone will need to be present at the delivery address to sign for the goods. Deliveries are made between 8.30am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
