On Weds 10th October 2007, Eastbourne’s musical instrument shop Bonners Music Superstore once again scooped the Music Industry Association’s top accolade by being voted Musical Instrument Retailer of the year.
This is the second year running that Bonners has won the award and is reflective of the high standard of their store, it’s content, customer service and ongoing commitment to support music initiatives in schools and the community.
Joint managing Director Tony White said “Our dream came true in 2006 when we won this award for the first time, but to win it again a second year running makes the effort both I personally and all our staff have put in to making our shop the best in the country feel so worthwhile”.
Myke Edwards also joint MD added “This award is not just based on sales or size of shop – it is recognition of everything a company needs to achieve to be a successful retailer, including presentation, competitiveness, customer service and store layout.
Bonners is not only recognised as a national force in the music industry, but their recent initiative to sponsor local schools music departments and provide support to local music teachers shows their commitment to the town and it’s music community.
The Bonners Music Superstore in Eastbourne is the largest general musical instrument store in the UK and has a reputation for being at the forefront of music retailing.
This latest award joins an ever growing number of awards that Bonners has achieved in the last two years, including National Best Independent Retailer 2006, Eastbourne Best Independent Retailer and Eastbourne Business Of The Year.
Asked what is next on the agenda for Bonners, Tony said “We’re always looking for new opportunities to make playing musical instruments accessible to everybody. Our focus is presently on growing our music tuition facilities and to offer our music department sponsorship to more schools across the local area”.
