Roland V-Piano
Come and try the Roland V-Piano in our award winning showroom.
Come and see the incredible new Roland V-Piano here at Bonners Music Superstore. Hear how the “living piano core” technology produces the most natural piano sounds heard from a digital piano so far. With an unprecedented flexibility of control over, not only the preset piano models, but also virtually any user defined profile, to create your own very unique piano sound. This V-Piano will undoubtedly herald a new era in digital piano design.
Roland have been producing top quality music technology since 1972, latest addition to the "V" series of instruments could be the the most inovative this decade.
The V-Piano has a solid feel with a simple, almost retro look, and few but well thought out controls. Changing any of the parameters is quite easy and intuitive but hook it up to a computer and you can see a visual representation of the alterations you are making. But the really clever stuff is behind the scenes.
Up until now, digital pianos were sampled, which basically means that a snapshot of the sound was captured digitally at each point of the note being played. When the key was pressed the snapshots were strung together to produce the note. The limitation to this is that once recorded the tone is difficult to alter without resampling.
The V-Piano is very different digital piano indeed!
Sound is produced by Roland’s original V-Piano sound generator, which is based on COSM (Component Object Sound Modelling) technology. This means the tones are modelled on the behaviour of each component in the production of a note.
Sounds on an acoustic piano are produced by pressing a key, which causes a hammer to hit metal strings that are stretched across the piano’s frame. The resulting sound causes other strings to resonate from the bridge to the soundboard to the body and outward into the surrounding space.
It is this very process that Roland have modelled.
The V-Piano provides five basic piano models: “Vintage 1”, “Vintage 2”, “All Triple”, “Silver 1” and “Silver 2”.
And because these are modelled, not sampled, you can adjust the tuning, string material, hammer felt thickness and even the cross resonance. This applies to all notes, a range of notes or even single note to produce a unique sounding piano.
V-Piano also has a new PHA-III Ivory Feel keyboard with Escapement, which is truly wonderful to play.
This digital piano is an absolute joy to play and hear.
