MXR Guitar Effects PedalsMXR guitar effects pedals are the classic colourful stompbox brand for all guitar and bass players. Founded in the early 1970's and based in New York MXR built a great reputation for building great guitar pedals including the Phase 90, Dyna Comp and Distortion +. Jim Dunlop bought the MXR brand in the mid 1980's and reintroduced some of the MXR classic pedals along with adding more modern pedals like the Carbon Copy and a range of bass pedals. Today MXR guitar effects pedals are the first choice for many guitar players including signature models for Eddie Van Halen, Slash, Zakk Wylde and many more.

MXR Green Day Dookie Drive V3 Unicorn Overdrive Guitar Pedal
£53.00 off RRP
2 In Stock
MXR Green Day Dookie Drive V3 Unicorn Overdrive Guitar Pedal What is Dookie? On the 1st of February in 1994, Green Day released their major label debut in the form of the album called Dookie. Filled with 90s angst and cynicism, the album proved to pave the way for Green Day to explode onto the scene. Tracks from the album became mainstays on MTV and kick-started what has turned out to be a long and fruitful career for the band. One of the main driving forces in the aggressive, snarling sound which Green Day used to such powerful effect was the guitar tone of the front man, Mr Billie Joe Armstrong. At the time of recording, Mr Armstrong was chasing the notorious tones of bands like the Sex Pistols and the Ramones. In his quest he settles on two modded 100 watt Marshall Super Leads. Hed run one really scooped and the other full throttle then the engineer mixed them to taste. Get Some Dookie in your Life The Dookie is MXRs effort to capture the skin-blistering tone that Billie Joe achieved on the album and bottle it into a single pedal enclosure. To do this, they actually took the original amps themselves and subjected them to a litany of tests and experiments to accurately replicate their profile. And by Jove, Ill be damned if they didnt nail it and create something really special in the process. The initial Dookie was released to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the albums original release. That was the Dookie looking back, the Dookie V3 is looking forward. The V3s release coincides with the release of their newest album, Father of All Motherf*****s. The cover art of the aforementioned new album is festooned with the image of a unicorn vomiting a rainbow (naturally). So, it follows that that is the imagery which adorns the front of the Dookie V3. Other than that, the pedal is left largely untouched. Bare in mind though, this pedal is a limited edition version and so wont be around for long! The Consistency of Dookie As mentioned above, the Dookie is an attempt to capture the tone of two cranked Marshall amps combined. That is exactly what to expect when plugging this pedal into your rig. The controls have been simplified as much as possible to make things nice and streamlined and straight to the point. Youve got an overall master control over the volume along with a gain and tone control. The gain and tone control attack the two circuits within the pedal pertaining to the high-gain and crunch gain sections. Finally, you have a blend control which is used to combine the two characterful sections to your taste, much like Green Day in the studio originally when recording Dookie itself. If youd like some more mid-range scoop overall, theyve even included a little scoop switch in the centre of all the knobs. This will inject an extra layer of mid scoop over the whole of your tone in the output section. Dookie is Flexible If youre looking to nail the tone of Green Day, look no further than the Dookie V3. Nailing that tone is far from its only purpose though. The pedal afterall is a faithful recreation of two classic and very sought after Marshall amplifiers. It does a great job of kicking your tone in the private parts and launching it to scathing new heights no matter what music you want to be playing. If youre looking to super-charge your guitar tone and inject a good amount of aggression, this could be a really cool pedal to check out. Why Bonners? MXR M236 Super Badass Variac Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal
£49.55 off RRP
MXR M236 Super Badass Variac Fuzz Guitar Effects PedalThe MXR Super Badass Variac Fuzz is a dream come true for guitar players chasing vintage fuzz tone. This tasty fuzz is aggressive and biting, and with the twist of a knob, you can drag it into that “dying battery” territory much prized by tonechasers—no need to manage a collection of half-dead batteries. To create the Super Badass Variac Fuzz, the MXR design team dusted off a rare vintage silicon circuit, tuned it up, and added a Variac control so you can set the pedal’s voltage anywhere from 5 to 15V. For that wonderful saggy fuzz effect you get as a 9V battery loses its power, just lower the voltage by turning the Variac knob counterclockwise. Increasing the voltage raises the effect’s headroom, opening up the fuzz for a more transparent sound at 15V. The MXR Super Badass Variac Fuzz’s simple interface is rounded out with Tone, Output, and Gain controls, and it all comes in a road-ready housing with true bypass switching. Set voltage from 5V–15V Lower voltage for “dying battery” effect Increase voltage for more headroom & clarityAt Bonners Music we are finding these MXR Guitar Effects Pedals superb. We make sure we have them in stock or on order. Each of the MXR M238 Iso-Brick Power Supply's 10 outputs is fully isolated, eliminating gig-ending ground loop noise. Whether analog or digital, positive or negative ground, this power box has you covered. The MXR team broke down these 10 outputs to accommodate a variety of voltage and current requirements: two 9V outputs at 100mA, two 9V outputs at 300mA, two 9V outputs at 450mA, two 18V outputs at 250mA, and two variable outputs adjustable from 6V to 15V at 250mA. MXR M239 ISO Brick Mini Power Supply
£25.92 off RRP
MXR M239 ISO Brick Mini Power Supply The MXR Mini Iso-Brick Power Supply supplies quiet, noise free DC power to wide range of pedal types while taking up less space than a candy bar. Whether you need a space saving solution for your downsized travel board or you just need to power a small, carefully curated selection of tried and true staples, this little box has what you need. The M239 Mini Iso-Brick Power Supply has five, and each is fully isolated to eliminate obnoxious, gig ending ground loop noise. Four of the outputs supply 9 volts of power at 300mA, while a fifth can be set to provide either 9 volts or 18 volts at 800mA depending on your needs. With a generous amount of current on tap and the ability to handle both negative and positive grounds, these outputs will accommodate almost any pedal, analog or digital. And don’t let the five outputs restrict you—if you need to add an extra pedal, the MXR Mini Iso-Brick Power Supply has you covered. It comes with a splitter cable that can be used to connect two pedals to a single output, provided they require the same voltage and you don’t exceed the output's current rating. You can do this with all of the outputs simultaneously—just purchase the extra cables to do so. Finally, troubleshooting can be a hassle on dark stages, so the Mini Iso-Brick Power Supply comes equipped with LEDs to let you know that all your connections are solid. To be able to run two amps together, combining their drive and tone to find new sounds that really sound full and rich is always an ideal setup for both the stage and studio. Pro guitar players are often in this position of being able to play around with mixing their favorite amps together for one big full tone, be it for rhythm or lead tones. MXR have managed to do this in a pedal format for all us guitar players to be able to use. Combing the sonic tones of two hot rodded tube amps from top brands. Top engineers from the MXR team have had in their possession two heavily modded amps, one for super high gain drive and the other amp modified for punchy midrange. Combining these sonically MXR have developed the MXR FOD Drive pedal. The MXR FOD Drive is the result of their efforts. Painstakingly recreating each amplifier in pedal circuit form, the MXR engineers fit them into a single housing as separate channels—High Gain and Crunch Gain. Each channel has its own Gain and Volume controls so that you can dial in just the right sonic signature for each side. The Blend control then allows you to set the mix ratio of the two signals just like having two separate amps running into a mixing box. The Tone knob sets the EQ for the overall output signal, and the Scoop switch allows you to choose between flat, scooped, or boosted midrange voices.

MXR M294 Sugar Drive Mini Overdrive Guitar Pedal
£15.00 off RRP
MXR M294 Sugar Drive Mini Overdrive Guitar Effects Pdeal New for 2018 and launched at NAMM Show The MXR Sugar Drive provides a diverse range of clear and transparent overdrive tones, from sauced up boosting to blown-tube distortion. It’s based on a rare overdrive pedal that has acquired a mythical reputation among fanatical tone-seekers thanks to its unique circuit design. The key elements of that circuit design are the Drive control and something called a charge pump. First, the Drive control on this pedal doesn’t just increase the intensity of the overdrive pedal. It starts with your clean signal and then blends it with the overdrive effect as you turn it up, replicating the smooth transition of an amplifier going from clean to dirty. The charge pump increases overall headroom, which opens everything up nicely. Of course, MXR had to put the MXR touch on this circuit. If you’re all about true bypass, then you’re in luck—this pedal uses it by default. The original used buffered bypass, though, and MXR knew there’s a lot of players out there who don’t want to fix something that isn’t broken. They’re in luck, too—just flick the Buffer switch on the side of the pedal to enable buffered bypassing.
MXR M296 Classic 108 Fuzz Mini Guitar Effects Pedal
MXR M296 Classic 108 Fuzz Mini Guitar Effects Pedal New for 2018 launched at the NAMM Show Now in an MXR mini housing, the MXR Classic 108 Fuzz gives you all the same vintage fuzz tones in a much smaller footprint. Like its larger predecessor, it’s loaded with the silicon BC-108 transistor for a round and dirty crunch. This MXR Classic 108 Fuzz also has the same no-nonsense control interface—just crank the Volume and Fuzz controls to your liking and start riffing. Use the Buffer switch on the side to make the fuzz play nice with wah pedals.
MXR M299 Carbon Copy Mini Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

MXR M299 Carbon Copy Mini Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal Honey, I Shrunk The Best Selling Analogue Delay of All-Time! Inimitable titans of guitar effects pedals both past and present have gone and done it yet again. Itd be a pretty easily defensible argument to state that MXRs Carbon Copy is one of the best analogue delay pedals ever made. Its simplicity coupled with its puritanically faithful tonality has made it a favourite for guitarists all over the planet since its release in 2009. Its well made, versatile, authentic, easy-to-use, and now, it is also tiny. Everything is in Proportion Moving flawlessly with the times, MXR have decided to miniaturise their Carbon Copy thus allowing it to fit into any rig with ease. Crucially though, they have done this whilst preserving, and even enhancing in some ways, all of the tonality of the original along with all of its functions and flexibility. Youll find all of the same controls from the original present on its new shrunken sibling. Youve got the same three knobs to control the "Mix", "Regen", and "Delay". Youll also still find the same button to engage the Mod function which injects the repeats with a beautiful analogue warble. Additionally, and new to the mini, youll also encounter a bright switch. This can be used, as the name suggests, to brighten the traditionally dark bucket-brigade tone of the original. What is a Bucket-Brigade? Technically, its the name given to a series of people who form a line to pass a bucket of water from one to another, perhaps from a river to a fire. It also just so happens to be the name given to a technique of creating a delay effect. The latter came about in the late 60s and derived its name from the former. The invention of the bucket-brigade technique served, predominantly, as a force to allow delay effects to be more manageable, portable, and affordable. Until the emergence of the bucket-brigade circuit, delay was created using magnetic tape and recording heads in a sequence. This was quite a costly procedure both financially and spatially. You needed big reels, a lot of power, and a near constant supply of magnetic tape. A few other techniques popped up here and there but nothing was quite as revolutionary as the bucket-brigade method. How Does the Bucket-Brigade Work? Functionally, the bucket-brigade system works similarly to the tape systems of old only it utilises capacitors rather than tape. Your signal is stored and then passed through a series of capacitors to repeat the note at the desired intervals. Because of its use of analog components, the bucket-brigade delays have a naturally dark, moody echo that gets darker and moodier with each repeat. This is a sound that they have become famous and adored for as it creates a lovely warm, slightly imperfect repeat which feels somewhat human. This darker, murkier sound has become something held onto by a lot of professional gigging and studio guitarists alike. It has become a bastion of delay to balance tone with ease of use. The older tape delays are prohibitively expensive and heavy and the newer digital delays are much brighter and more perfect in their reproduction of the delayed note. The Mini Monster If youre looking for soulful, murky, characterful analogue delay but are limited for board real-estate, look no further than the Carbon Copy Mini from MXR. It has all the class leading tone and functionality of the original in a chassis that is a fraction of the size. You also cover all bases with the inclusion of the bright switch which allows you to dial in the perfect amount of sharpness for any rig or scenario. Why Bonners?
