MXR Guitar Effects Pedals

MXR guitar effects pedals are the classic colourful stompbox brand for all guitar and bass players. Founded in the early 1970's and based in New York MXR built a great reputation for building great guitar pedals including the Phase 90, Dyna Comp and Distortion +. Jim Dunlop bought the MXR brand in the mid 1980's and reintroduced some of the MXR classic pedals along with adding more modern pedals like the Carbon Copy and a range of bass pedals. Today MXR guitar effects pedals are the first choice for many guitar players including signature models for Eddie Van Halen, Slash, Zakk Wylde and many more.

MXR M236 Super Badass Variac Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal The MXR Super Badass Variac Fuzz is a dream come true for guitar players chasing vintage fuzz tone. This tasty fuzz is aggressive and biting, and with the twist of a knob, you can drag it into that “dying battery” territory much prized by tonechasers—no need to manage a collection of half-dead batteries. To create the Super Badass Variac Fuzz, the MXR design team dusted off a rare vintage silicon circuit, tuned it up, and added a Variac control so you can set the pedal’s voltage anywhere from 5 to 15V. For that wonderful saggy fuzz effect you get as a 9V battery loses its power, just lower the voltage by turning the Variac knob counterclockwise. Increasing the voltage raises the effect’s headroom, opening up the fuzz for a more transparent sound at 15V. The MXR Super Badass Variac Fuzz’s simple interface is rounded out with Tone, Output, and Gain controls, and it all comes in a road-ready housing with true bypass switching. MXR M294 Sugar Drive Mini Overdrive Guitar Effects Pdeal New for 2018 and launched at NAMM Show The MXR Sugar Drive provides a diverse range of clear and transparent overdrive tones, from sauced up boosting to blown-tube distortion. It’s based on a rare overdrive pedal that has acquired a mythical reputation among fanatical tone-seekers thanks to its unique circuit design. The key elements of that circuit design are the Drive control and something called a charge pump. First, the Drive control on this pedal doesn’t just increase the intensity of the overdrive pedal. It starts with your clean signal and then blends it with the overdrive effect as you turn it up, replicating the smooth transition of an amplifier going from clean to dirty. The charge pump increases overall headroom, which opens everything up nicely. Of course, MXR had to put the MXR touch on this circuit. If you’re all about true bypass, then you’re in luck—this pedal uses it by default. The original used buffered bypass, though, and MXR knew there’s a lot of players out there who don’t want to fix something that isn’t broken. They’re in luck, too—just flick the Buffer switch on the side of the pedal to enable buffered bypassing.
