Wampler Dual Fusion Drive Pedal Fusion is a really exciting and fairly new frontier in music. It ties together, predominantly, jazz and rock with a deeply theoretically based approach. It’s an articulate genre of music that calls for a powerful and saturated tone which still retains its focus and detail. A tone which the esteemed guitarist Tom Quale was struggling to find. Tom found that by using Wampler’s Euphoria Drive along with the Paisley Drive he could get exceedingly close to his dream tone but those pedals are voiced for completely different genres. Wampler knew they could get closer to what Tom had in mind. Focus Wampler have taken the foundations of the Euphoria and Paisley Drive and modified their to provide a much tighter, more transparent tone response. The bass is kept tight and in check and, when stacked, the channels combine to sound like a pushed amp whilst retaining clarity and string separation. Flexibility With the Dual Fusion Drive, versatility is key. The channels can be used separately or in conjunction with one another. When running the pedals together, you can choose to run the channels into each other in whichever order you’d like. There is a 3-way switch at the top of the pedal which allows you to select which way the pedal is routing everything. The first mode of note is ‘Separate’ mode. When the pedal is in this mode, each channel turns on independently. The other two modes are combination modes. When running the pedal in one of the combination modes, you have the choice of running channel 1 into channel 2 or vice versa. To make things easier to visualise the two options would look like this: 1>2 or 2>1. This ensures that you can select a route that best suits your rig or for nailing a specific tone you are aiming for. The independent inputs and outputs for each channel also ensures maximum compatibility with the assortment of super-powerful modern MIDI pedal switchers. Why Bonners? Wampler Ego Compressor Pedal The Ego Compressor from Wampler quickly became an industry standard in guitar pedal compression. It did so by delivering really full, clear and organic compression effect alongside a whole new level of control that was fully embraced by guitar players. What is Compression? Compression is everywhere and yet, for the uninitiated, it can be quite difficult to define. It can be a very subtle effect to sweeten and smoothen a guitar signal or it can be used very liberally to create an ultra-glassy, articulate ice pick attack. The general principle of compression is to level out the notes in your playing to make them smoother and more of a consistent volume. It does so by bringing up the volume of the quieter parts of your playing and bringing down the volume on the louder parts. This makes it so there are no crazy loud volume spikes and no inaudibly quiet sections. This is a pretty essential process in recording and can be very handy live too. The Sweet Spot Compression is the main ingredient in the secret sauce that presents itself when you turn a good valve amp up loud to the holy grail of “the sweet-spot”. This is the spot where the amp is working hard and, as a result, causing the notes to bloom beautifully and smooths the notes out in a really musical fashion. This often also has the added bonus of making your playing feel buttery and effortless. The Ego Compressor works hard to provide you just that magical feeling of turning up a lovely old valve amp without the stress of having to remortgage your house to afford one or permanently ruining your hearing. It gives you a really lively, organic feeling compression rather than just mechanically smoothing out the volume level of the notes played. Dynamics One thing that is easily lost when dealing with compression is playing dynamics. When everything is being smoothed and levelled out, it is easy to lose the emotive language that volume provides to your playing. Wampler has combatted this by providing the ability to add a clean blend back into your playing. This allows you to still get all the benefits of the compressor (namely picking up the quieter parts of your playing and add sustain) whilst controlling the amount of squash that comes along with that. So you can go from dripping wet, twangy country squash to a studio ready, thickening compression in no time. You’d be hard pressed to find a more versatile, dynamic compressor out there. Especially with the Ego’s form factor and convenience. It really makes a great option for those players who want a more subtle “always on” compressor to those who want to add more of an intense compression “effect” to their playing. Why Bonners? Wampler EQuator Equalizer Pedal Wampler EQuator Equalizer Pedal

Wampler EQuator Equalizer Pedal If there was an award given out for the most overlooked genre of effects pedal, EQ pedals would definitely be in the running for the gold medal. In terms of shaping your tone and slotting into the mix live, there’s nothing more powerful.  Wampler have opted to prioritise simplicity and ease of use when designing their EQuator pedal. Typically, EQ pedals utalise a menagerie of sliders as the interface with which to shape your EQ. There is a bit of a learning curve to master the use of these sliders, not to mention the extra time and fiddliness that it takes to set them up/change them on the fly. Wampler thought this to be over complicated and, instead, have gone for fixed treble and bass controls accompanied by two semi-parametric mid controls. This allows for powerful, diverse tone shaping just through the twisting of a few knobs proving a lifesaver when needing to make adjustments on the fly and is much easier to set up for each scenario in a jiffy.  The Sweet Spot The mid controls have a sweepable control to select the Hz frequency that the mid control is targetting. This allows you to move the mid point in the EQ you are enhancing or toning down, allowing for really powerful and flexible shaping.  Wampler have marked each of the sweet-spots on these controls so you know where a good place to aim would be. These frequencies are the tried and true sweet-spots that all good engineers and producers are familiar with. The points in the mid-range that allow your guitar to attain that vocal, singing character or to get that gnarly mid-scoop going, all with a helpful invisible nudge and guidance from a professional producers hand. Useful Anywhere Wampler’s EQuator is one of those secret-sauce pedals which can slot into any rig and make a positive difference. It has a ridiculous amount of uses. You can tailor the amount of transparency with ease, allowing the pedal to do everything from providing a simple, open clean boost to its ability to recolour your favourite drive pedal and more. Wampler Ethereal Reverb and Delay Pedal Much in keeping with their track record, the Ethereal is yet another example of Wampler taking an effect that is often shrouded in over-complication and mystery and made it accessible to all whilst still maintaining top tier, professional sound quality and performance. The Ethereal is an ambient pedal designed to cleft open a portal to the heavens and funnel your guitar signal through it. You can create huge sweeping beautiful landscapes of tone, all within one pedal. Ease of Use The main goal of the Ethereal is to make all of this functionality simple and easy to use. You can control the fully-fledged reverb and the, not one but, two delays, all with only 5 knobs. You can go from fairly modest, shimmering recognisable tones all the way to an alternate dimension in the blink of an eye. There’s also a really easy button to switch between delay modes to things like dotted eighth and triplet delay patterns to create beautifully shifting, syncopated patterns effortlessly. Preservation The Ethereal does all of the above without losing your, or your guitars’, signature. Wampler have managed to engineer it to keep your signal intact. Your signal is split as soon as it enters the pedal. Your dry tone is left untouched and the effected signal is then laid back on top. This ensures that you never lose sight of what makes your rig your rig, even whilst out exploring the outer reaches of our solar system. Why Bonners? Wampler Euphoria Overdrive Guitar Pedal Wampler Euphoria Overdrive Guitar Pedal

Wampler Euphoria Overdrive Pedal Wampler’s goal when designing the Euphoria Overdrive pedal was to create an anti-pedal. To create a drive pedal that didn’t sound like it was a pedal. Something that would provide the tone, feeling and dynamism you might expect from an amp that one would typically have to remortgage their house to afford. A lofty goal to be sure but one that was fully realised with the Euphoria. An Amp In Pedal’s Clothing The Euphoria’s ability to provide a really dynamic, fully-fledged tone one might expect from an amplifier is quite miraculous. The secret key to unlock that potential is largely down to the pre-gain bass control which Wampler say “gives the tone a fatness that a regular EQ stack cannot give you”. It also adds to the tone a really realistic, amp-like, warmth and sustain. Another key feature of the Euphoria was to have it respond to the guitar’s volume control as a valve amp would. Even with a fairly substantial amount of gain dialed in, you can still clean the pedal up by rolling back the volume on your guitar. This is a key, recognisable feature of high-quality valve amps and something the Euphoria does a scarily good job of replicating.  It’s a fantastic choice for organic, amp-like tones with a dizzying amount of flexibility and control. You can dial in smooth, singing tones along with gritty, snarling, crunchy tones with ease and trust that they will sound and feel like you’re playing through a living, breathing valve amplifier. Wampler Faux Tape Echo v2 Delay Pedal The Wampler Faux Tape Eco v2 has taken the original best selling model and kept everything that was awesome about the first and upgraded it with some great features. It has become a go-to for a great-sounding gig friendly delay in a pedalboard-friendly format. Brian decided to take off the unnecessary on/off switch for the modulation (you can turn it off with a quick rotation to zero of the depth knob). This helped to make room for a very handy Subdivisions section, which when using the tap tempo it will give you 1/4, 1/8, dotted 1/8 and triplet options to really fit in with whatever type of music you are playing. 100% Analogue Dry signal With the delay signal being the only part that is digital, this will keep your original analogue signal path completely unaltered and gives you a clean low noise Echo over the top. It is so easy to achieve all the lovely sounds of an original tape delay unit, mirroring the different stages of a tape reel ageing but without any of the hassle and maintenance. Why Bonners? Wampler Mini Ego Compressor The Ego Compressor by Wampler quickly became the go-to compressor for many guitarists and now, it comes in a bite-size format! The original Ego Compressor is a titan in the world of compression and Wampler have left one in the tumble dryer too long in order to miniaturise it for a more convenient footprint. Mini-Me The Ego Compressor Mini has managed to squeeze all of the functionality of it’s big brother into its reduced size. In lieu of 5 knobs of the original, Wampler have opted for 2-way switches for the “tone” and “attack” controls. This still allows you to select the brightness and attack speed of the pedal without occupying an exorbitant amount of real estate. The three knobs left intact from the original are for the volume, sustain and the blend controls. The blend control is one of the main ingredients that goes into making the Ego so well regarded. It allows you to blend in your dry signal back into the pedal which preserves your playing dynamics with full, exact precision and control. It’s one of the many reasons that Wampler’s Ego Compressor is so highly regarded. Why Bonners? Wampler Paisley Drive Deluxe Overdrive Pedal Wampler Paisley Drive Deluxe Overdrive Pedal

Wampler Paisley Drive Deluxe Overdrive Brad Paisley and Wampler have teamed up yet again to deliver a stacked drive pedal to die for. Legend has it that Mr Paisley was first smitten with Wampler when he tried their, since-discontinued, Underdog overdrive pedal. The Underdog was known for producing tones reminiscent of the very highly regarded Nobels ODR-S. The impression this pedal made on Mr Paisley ultimately culminated in a signature pedal called the Paisley Drive, thus beginning a long and fruitful relationship between the two.  The Paisley Drive Deluxe is the culmination of requirements set out by Mr Paisley and Wampler’s knowhow. To create the perfect stacked drive pedal, Wampler has resurrected the Underdog that Brad initially fell in love with and combined it with the original Paisley Drive. Both pedals can be used individually or in tandem to create some serious gristle. The Nitty Gritty The Paisley Drive Deluxe sports two channels. Channel 1 is the, extremely sought-after, recreation of the Wampler Underdog with its Nobels like grit. Channel 2 is the Paisley Drive complete with its versatility and signature, amp-like drive tones. The pedal features full, independent control over each of these channels as well as a menagerie of switching options. Combinations With the Paisley Deluxe Drive, versatility is of utmost importance. The independent inputs and outputs for each channel also ensure maximum compatibility with the assortment of super-powerful modern MIDI pedal switchers. Why Bonners? Here at Bonners Music, you have the opportunity to try one of these great Wampler effects pedals yourself. Just give us a call on 01323 636141 or better still, visit our showroom! Wampler Pinnacle Deluxe V2 Overdrive Pedal The Pinnacle Deluxe V2 is the latest version of Wampler’s best-selling distortion pedal. It builds upon the foundations that the original Pinnacle and Pinnacle Deluxe pedals laid down and added more options to drastically increase its versatility. Darwinism The original Pinnacle set down phenomenal roots becoming a runaway success. The Deluxe took what was already so successful and made it easier to use. Namely, they moved the boost function to be accessible via a stomp switch rather than a mini-toggle switch. This allowed more immediate and controllable access to the boost tone without having to pause proceedings, take a knee and fumble for that extra juice. The V2 takes all of the above and adds yet more flexibility, control, and versatility. The first, most noticeable new edition is the new fully-fledged 3-band EQ allowing for fully sculptable tonal characteristics. This is coupled with new bright and bass boosts giving you the choice between a fresh tone or that classic thump of a 4x12. There is also the new “Valve Screamer” based pre-gain boost section. This new section is based upon a certain, very well-known green overdrive pedal and the boost is even usable whilst the pedal is bypassed. The Secret Sauce The key addition to the pedal that drastically enhances its versatility comes in the form of a switch on the side labeled “SAG”. This switch allows you to remove the saggy crunch and tighten the pedal up substantially. This serves to create two distinct and dynamic foundations upon which to build some lovely, characterful, class-leading drive tones no matter the genre. Why Bonners? Wampler Plexi-Drive Deluxe Pedal Wampler has taken their classic “Plexi-Drive” and deluxificated it. All the original vintage Marshall® channeling goodness is retained whilst providing some extra tweaks in the name of versatility. With the addition of a 3-way active EQ, bright switch, and boost functionality, the Plexi-Drive Deluxe has reached new heights of control.  The Plexi Sound The Plexi sound is one of the most coveted guitar tones in history. It is a sound made famous by a number of lesser-known, two-bit players such as Jimi Hendrix, Angus Young, Eric Clapton, and Eddie Van Halen; all of whom provide fantastic examples of the eye-watering beauty and power of those early Marshall® behemoths.  The “Plexi” part of the Plexi sound refers to the Plexiglass backing to the control panel on the very early Marshall® amps. It is an iconic aesthetic staple adorning the amps they were producing in the mid-to-late-60’s which had a clear Acrylic panel, backed with a strip of gold tape, as the backing to the control panel. These early amps from Marshall® are very well-regarded and extremely sought after. They fetch a pretty penny nowadays on the second-hand market and have spawned a plethora of pedals and amps that try to capture that heavenly sound. Capturing The Tone The Plexi-Drive Deluxe from Wampler captures all of the flavour and character present within all the amps of that period and distills it into a single pedal. You get the signature crunch, response, and feeling that those early amps provided across the gamut. The unique gain structure of the Plexi-Drive Deluxe allows for really authentic recreations of everything from the beautiful Vintage ’68 style amps to the all-out screaming rock tones of a JTM-45® cranked all the way. What Makes It “Deluxe”? The first and most noticeable new addition to the Plexi-Drive Deluxe is the 3-band-EQ, allowing you to dial in your ideal, unique tone with utmost precision. Alongside this, you also have a bass boost switch which helps to further capture the authenticity of that Marshall® sound by simulating the thump of a 4x12 cabinet. This feature goes hand-in-hand with the new “Bright” switch which allows you to adjust to brighter or darker sounding guitars in a jiffy.  A pre-gain, soft-click boost switch is also present on the pedal. It kicks in a boost signal very reminiscent to a certain little green overdrive pedal which helps to kick any sound over the edge. The Marshall® and Screamer combo goes together about as well as strawberries and cream. Why Bonners? Wampler Deluxe Overdrive Pedal Many pedals have tried to nail that blissful, soaring, transparent overdrive nirvana that was first epitomised by a certain golden mythical horse themed pedal; but few have truly managed to match it’s gallop. In their efforts to capture that iconic tone, the good folks at Wampler have gone mythological themselves. They’ve ventured past the Lion and the Witch, deep into the wardrobe and returned back to us mere mortals bearing fruit. That fruit comes in the form of the Tumnus Deluxe Overdrive. Control Brian Wampler has really gone above and beyond on the Tumnus Deluxe, delivering far more than just blistering tone. You also get a vast amount more control than typically found in pedals of a similar ilk.  With a simple flick of a switch, you have got the choice of a buffered or a true bypass signal path. Pedals of this type are well-renowned for their buffer and the Tumnus Deluxe does not disappoint. Whether the pedal is on or off, the buffer will influence and enhance your tone, ensuring that your amp is receiving a full, high-quality signal. If you prefer the purist approach or simply don’t want to add another buffer to your signal chain, it can be switched off and run in true-bypass mode. Tone The Tumnus Deluxe delivers absolute clarity. It has all the true high-headroom output and real amp-like breakup that is synonymous with all golden mythical horse type pedals. However, it also includes far more tonal shaping capability than can be found elsewhere. The Tumnus Deluxe features full control over the low-end, mids and treble with full 3-band EQ controls. The classic treble control is still present in much the same way as it always has been, perfect for controlling the pedals sparkly higher-frequencies. However, unlike its contemporaries, the Tumnus Deluxe also features two further active tone controls for bass and mids, helping you to fully shape every aspect of your tone whatever the situation. The Tumnus Deluxe also offers a normal/hot switch which allows you to move from the standard Tumnus gain level, over to a higher-gain mode. This makes the pedal perfect for any scenario, rig or player. The pedal can easily be used as a stand-alone overdrive or a shapeable boost.  Wampler’s Quality Construction Wampler don’t cut corners. Their pedals are built to last and with the player in mind. The Tumnus Deluxe is very sturdily made with convenient top-mounted jacks. It is easy to use yet features astounding levels of tonal flexibility, making it well suited to a myriad of uses.  Why Bonners? Wampler Tumnus Overdrive Pedal There’s a certain, golden, mythical horse themed pedal that, for most guitarists, is the Mona Lisa of guitar overdrive. It is a thing of myth and legend and, as a result, is quite appropriately named after the famous magical fusion of man and horse. The wondrous folks at Wampler have used their patented witchcraft to transform the mighty Centaur into an equally mighty Shetland Pony.  Many pedal manufacturers have tried to capture the blissful, righteous tones that said pedal so powerfully stamped into the overdrive landscape. The Tumnus from Wampler is a miraculously faithful recreation of that sound in an unbelievably small package. Versatility The Tumnus’ painstaking faithfulness to it’s spiritual predecessor means that it can be used in much the same abundance of ways. Ideal for any rig, any style. It works great in conjunction with other drive pedals, as a stand alone overdrive pedal or as a dirty boost to push the front end of your amp over the edge.  Another quintessential use for this type of pedal is as as a buffer. Faithful to the original, the Tumnus isn’t true bypass, instead, it contains a buffered bypass tone that is a thing of legend in its own right. It works to push your signal through any rig, providing a punchy, powerful articulation even whilst the pedal is off. That has been a well-known, classic use for this type pedal and one of its key charms and attractions for guitarists of any ilk. Control & Size The Tumnus features 3 very streamlined controls. You’ve got volume, gain and tone. This allows you to dial in all those classic, iconic tones quickly and easily whilst retaining versatility and depth of sound suitable for any scenario. Not everyone has the room on their boards for the big behemoths of old, making the Tumnus’ slender physique yet another string to its bow. The Tumnus delivers all of the classic tone, magic and mythology without any of the exorbitance one might typically expect.  Why Bonners? Wampler Velvet Fuzz Guitar Pedal Fuzz is somewhat of a secret spice in a lot of guitar players tonal recipes. It is a deceptively dynamic effect which has a surprising amount of versatility. The Velvet Fuzz from Wampler aims to provide a really rich, smooth and powerful sound that offers sounds that tailor to both the vintage and modern side of things. Think David Gilmour on a skateboard, wearing a snap-back, backwards. Tonality The pedal starts from the foundations of a driven, EL34 powered amp tonality (a sound taken from the characteristics of another very famous Wampler pedal) and builds a really fully fledged fuzz landscape on top of it.  Wampler’s Velvet Fuzz gives you two different types of clipping options. The two options are not just the standard germanium or silicon options which simply give you two subtly different flavours of the same sound. These options work to provide you with either a full, fat fuzz tone with bags of power, sustain and bottom end, or, with the other mode you can have the pedal tighten up, making it behave and sound more like a distortion pedal would. The first mode leaning more towards a more classic, vintage tonal palette with the second mode offering more of a crunchy, modern sound. Fans of David Gilmour and Eric Johnson need look no further than the Velvet Fuzz from Wampler. It’s a lovely, high-quality pedal that delivers amazing levels of fuzz versatility whilst retaining true authenticity within all of its sounds. Also, it shouldn’t really be a factor, but it's a real beauty to look at too! Why Bonners? Here at Bonners Music, you have the opportunity to try one of these great Wampler effects pedals yourself.
