A Real Acoustic Cajon and Roland Sound Module in One

Thanks to its compact size and versatility, the cajon has become the most popular instrument for on-the-go percussion, from local jams and street busking to nightclub performances and beyond. With its built-in Roland sound module and independent head and edge sensors, the EC-10 extends the cajon’s organic simplicity to open new dimensions of expression for any musical style. Spice up singer/songwriter and combo gigs with layered tambourine or djembe, add backbeats with an acoustic or TR-808 snare, or bring in some low-end thump with an electronic kick. Studio-optimized cajon sounds are also on hand to enhance the acoustic cajon voice for more depth, dimension, and punch.

Easy to Operate While Performing

The top-mounted sound controls on the EC-10 are designed for quick access and easy operation while playing. Dedicated buttons are used to scroll through sound categories, while neighboring buttons allow you to select a number of variations within a category. After that, just twist the rear-panel Volume knob to control the level of the layered sound, and use the Trigger Balance knob to adjust the balance between the head and edge sounds. You can also tweak the trigger sensitivity for your personal style and touch.

Self-Contained and Battery-Powered

Part of the cajon’s enormous appeal is that it’s self-contained and uncomplicated. While the EC-10 contains high-tech electronics, it fully maintains the organic, go-anywhere vibe that cajon players love. The integrated amp and coaxial speaker provide high-quality sound for keeping up with acoustic guitar amps and other instruments, and six AA batteries deliver up to 12 hours of power for long jams anywhere. There’s also a handy input for playing music from a smartphone or song player at home or on the gig. And because the EC-10 is a true acoustic instrument, you can always turn off the electronics and play it like any regular cajon. On top of that, it even functions as an extra seat in a music room or family space when you’re not playing!

EC-10M ELCajon Mic Processor

Enhance Your Sound and Add New Expression to Your Acoustic Cajon Performances

The EC-10M ELCajon Mic Processor is a totally unique and innovative creative tool designed for the acoustic cajon. Compact and battery powered, the EC-10M picks up the cajon’s acoustic sound with the included clip-on condenser mic, which is also used to trigger a variety of onboard tones for layering with the acoustic voice. You can then send both sounds to an amp or PA, giving you complete control over your stage sound. It’s also possible to create percussion phrases with a built-in looper, and play additional sounds via integrated A/B foot pads or optional kick trigger pedals. Everywhere you play, the EC-10M transforms the acoustic cajon experience with a world of new expressive power.
  • Easy setup—simply attach the included clip-on condenser mic to the sound hole of the acoustic cajon and start playing
  • Amplify the acoustic cajon—the EC-10M can be used as a mic preamp for the supplied microphone
  • A variety of sounds—16 onboard kits with tones including tambourine, shaker, djembe, electronic drums, and more can be layered with the acoustic cajon
  • Multiple tones—play two different electronic sounds by slapping the edge or head of the acoustic cajon
  • Add pedals—up to two kick trigger pedals (Roland KT-10, KT-9, or KD-7) can be connected to play additional sounds; integrated A/B foot pads can also trigger sounds
  • Create loops and play along—a simple looper function allows recording of rhythm phrases using the onboard sounds
  • Versatile outputs—send the microphone and layered sounds to a PA mixer via two independent outputs, or mix all sounds to one mono output
  • Two-way power—can be used with four AAA-size batteries (for up to five hours of use*) or included power supply
*Maximum use time will vary depending on the battery specifications, capacity, and conditions of use.

ENHANCE YOUR ACOUSTIC CAJON PERFORMANCES

With the EC-10M, it’s easy to take your acoustic cajon performances to new heights. Just attach the dedicated clip-on mic to the instrument’s sound hole, and then layer EC-10M tones with the acoustic voice to create unique hybrid sounds. The 16 kit variations include percussion sounds such as tambourine, surdo, splash cymbal, and many others, plus acoustic snare drum and the famous TR-808 snare. Built-in cajon tones with ambience are also included for reinforcing your acoustic cajon’s natural voice with powerful studio sound.

ADD VARIETY AND PLAY WITH AUTHENTIC CAJON TECHNIQUES

The EC-10M intelligently senses when the mic is picking up sounds from the head and edge surfaces on the cajon, giving you the ability to trigger distinctly different electronic sounds with each of these areas. This lets you integrate EC-10M sounds using authentic cajon techniques, so you don’t have to adjust your playing in any way.

TRIGGER EXTRA SOUNDS WITH FOOT PADS OR OPTIONAL PEDALS

In addition to head and edge sounds, each of the 16 kits within the EC-10M includes two electronic sounds that are pre-assigned to the onboard A/B foot pads for triggering with toe taps while performing. If you’d prefer to play these sounds with authentic foot techniques and a more solid feel, up to two Roland kick trigger pedals (KT-10, KT-9, or KD-7) can be connected.* *A splitter cable (such as the optional PCS-31L) is required to connect two kick trigger pedals to the EC-10M.

LIGHT, COMPACT, AND BATTERY-POWERED

You can use the compact EC-10M anywhere, since it weighs just 500 g/1.1 lbs. and runs on four AAA batteries. The included clip-on condenser mic is compact and convenient, eliminating the need to take up valuable stage space with a mic stand and large microphone. With its small footprint, the EC-10M is an easy fit in the tightest performing spaces.

AMPLIFY YOUR ACOUSTIC CAJON AND EC-10M LAYERED SOUNDS

Along with being a sound module for electronic sounds, the EC-10M also functions as a mic preamp for the clip-on mic, enabling you to amplify both the acoustic cajon and layered sounds through an amp or PA. You can send the sounds to two independent outputs, or mix them together to one. With the EC-10M, it’s simple to achieve a powerful, consistent cajon sound at every gig, from intimate street performances to the biggest concert stages.

RECORD PERCUSSION PHRASES AND PLAY ALONG

The EC-10M includes a built-in looper* for the electronic layered sounds. This lets you create instant percussive backing for acoustic cajon playing or jamming with another instrument. The looper is controlled using the A/B foot pads, and you can capture electronic sounds triggered from the cajon and external pedals in your loops. And by changing the kits while the loop is playing, the tones in the loop are changed too. With this cool creative option, your acoustic cajon performances will be transformed forever! *Recorded phrases cannot be saved.

Roland KT-10 Kick Trigger Pedal Hard-hitting performance from the world’s quietest kick

It’s a daily dilemma for every drummer. Mid-practice, regular as clockwork, there’s the bang at the door and the neighbour telling you to keep it down. Of course, a major advantage of Roland V-Drums over an acoustic kit is the ability to plug in headphones for discrete practice. But if you want to make your sessions even quieter – while maxing out your performance – get your kicks from the new Roland KT-10 Kick Trigger Pedal. Silence is golden with the Roland KT-10: a low-noise kick trigger pedal for use with Roland V-Drums sound modules and other electronic percussion gear. Alongside its fast, fluid response to your footwork, the all-in-one design has a reverse-action trigger mechanism that means the pedal is far quieter in operation than a kick pad played with a standard pedal and beater. It’s adaptable, too. If you’re creating a hybrid drumkit, the Roland KT-10’s compact footprint makes it ideal for use alongside an acoustic kick pedal, and it’s also a great choice for expanding the firepower of other electronic percussion units like Roland’s SPD-SX, HandSonic HPD-20 and Octapad SPD-30.
  • All-in-one kick trigger pedal with low-noise operation
  • Innovative reverse-action trigger mechanism provides authentic playing feel in a compactdesign
  • Extremely quiet performance, great for not disturbing others when playing V-Drums at home
  • Produces approximately 75 per cent less noise than a Roland KD-9 Kick Pad triggered with a standard beater (based on Roland test data)
  • Small footprint and low-profile body, ideal for use in a hybrid acoustic/electronic drum or percussion kit
  • Works with all Roland percussion products equipped with 1/4-inch trigger inputs, including the TM-2 Trigger Module, V-Drums sound modules, SPD-series percussion pads, and the HandSonic HPD-20
  • Solid construction, smooth performance and attractive appearance
  • Adjustable spring and moveable weights allow for customisation of playing response
  • Mix In jack for easy expansion with a second KT-10

Roland SPD-SX Sampling Percussion Pad

The Roland SPD-SX Sampling Pad, a multi-pad percussion instrument with 2 GB of onboard sampling memory and three powerful effects engines. The SPDSX replaces the popular SPD-S, the industry-leading sampling pad, which has been the overwhelming choice of professional drummers and percussionists. The SPD-SX leads the way with the latest pad-sensing technology, enhanced sampling performance, an assignable click output, and a host of other features. The SPD SX gives drummers, percussionists, and other musicians a simple, portable, and affordable way to add sampling to any performance setup. The generous 2 GB of built-in memory provides more than three hours of CD-quality sampling in stereo, which can be captured via the stereo mic/line input or imported through USB. The SPD-SX also features new Multi-Pad Sampling, a quick and easy way to capture, truncate, and assign samples to pads by simply striking pads at the appropriate start/end points of a particular sample. User samples and factory-preloaded wave data can be organized and stored into numerous kits and played from the nine integrated trigger pads, which include six large pads and three edge triggers. The pads feature Roland’s latest pad-sensing technology for even, accurate triggering and the ultimate in dynamic sensitivity. Two dual-trigger inputs allow users to expand the SPD-SX with optional external pads and acoustic drum triggers for even more triggering options. The SPD-SX has three multi-effects units onboard: one master unit and two units that are assignable per kit. In addition, two dedicated front-panel knobs provide real-time control of user-assignable effects parameters. The bundled SPD-SX Wave Manager software for Mac and PC lets users import audio files from a computer directly via USB, assign the samples to pads, and edit/organize sample files quickly and efficiently. USB also allows users to interface the SPD-SX easily with their computer to communicate directly with DAWs and other music software, so players can use the SPD-SX to trigger software instruments and record MIDI and audio data in the computer. The versatile SPD-SX can be played on a tabletop or stand, and can be used with standard drum hardware. Other standout features include an intuitive interface and large display, dual stereo outputs, a phones jack, an assignable click output with dedicated front-panel level knob, MIDI I/O, and more.

And with its striking Sparkling Red finish, this powerful instrument has a bold, distinctive look that sets it apart from other gear on stage. Offering enhanced capabilities and a standout appearance, the SPD-SX Special Edition is the perfect solution for pro players who need a sampling pad that can handle all the sounds they need for every stage and studio situation.

Powerful Features for Pro Drummers and Percussionists

The SPD-SX Special Edition was designed for professional musicians who need increased capacity and capability. The 16 GB internal memory allows you to store up to 50 hours of 16-bit/44.1 kHz mono audio (maximum 10,000 files), so you’re able to carry your entire sample library inside the unit, with no external memory required. In addition to the master outputs, sub outputs are available for monitoring or sending individual pads to separate channels on the mixing desk. You can also route the internal click through the phones output only, and easily control it with the dedicated volume knob and start/stop button. It’s even possible to route individual pads through the phones output as well. And if you want a larger setup, up to four extra pads can be connected.* *Two 1/4-inch stereo external trigger inputs support connecting up to four pads using stereo-to-dual mono splitter cables.

Ableton Live Lite included

Ableton’s Live software is the go-to choice for musicians who demand control of their own music production. The SPD-SX Special Edition includes a license for Ableton Live Lite, giving you the power to produce your own original samples and even use the SPD-SX Special Edition as a pad controller for Ableton. You can also stream audio from Ableton Live Lite through the pad and tweak the sound with the onboard master effects on the SPD-SX Special Edition. A single USB cable is required for connecting to your computer.

Capture Your Inspiration with Multi-Pad Sampling

A powerful-yet-intuitive lineup of features has been built into the SPD-SX Special Edition, including Multi-Pad Sampling. While audio streams in from an external audio player or computer via the Audio In or USB jacks, simply strike each pad at the appropriate start/end points and the sample will be automatically truncated and assigned to that pad. This logical sampling process is a fast, friendly way to create multi-sampled phrases and pad maps, making it simple to capture those moments of inspiration with no hassle.

Enhance Your Live Performances with Real-Time Effects

The SPD-SX Special Edition is equipped with three powerful multi-effects engines: one master processor and two that are assignable per kit. With the master effects, you can perform in real time like a DJ might, using the dedicated front-panel controls. Get your hands on the filter, delay, short looper, and user-assignable effect, and creatively adjust them with the four buttons and two control knobs. And by connecting the SPD-SX Special Edition to your computer, it’s even possible to add more effects to your samples with Ableton Live Lite’s plug-ins.

Everything You Need to Maximize Your Sampling and Music Production Sessions

Integrating your computer with the SPD-SX Special Edition via USB forms an amazingly flexible production and performance setup. Sounds played on your computer can be sampled on the SPD-SX Special Edition, and sounds played on the pads can be recorded into your computer. You can capture sounds from Ableton Live Lite, a web browser, or a computer-based media player directly into the sampling pad, giving you lots of flexibility and versatility when preparing your sounds for live performances. Via the SPD-SX Special Edition’s USB memory port, you can directly import audio files from USB flash memory and assign them to pads. The process of importing and assigning samples is made even simpler using the SPD-SX Wave Manager software. You can import audio files directly from the computer to the SPD-SX Special Edition, assign a sample to a pad, and easily organize thousands of samples in your library. And thanks to its super-fast triggering and low latency, the SPD-SX Special Edition is a fantastic MIDI pad controller for any DAW, including Ableton Live Lite.

Quick Fold-Down for Space-Saving Storage, and Quick Setup When You’re Ready to Play

Solid, durable, and easy to set up, the TD-1KPX2’s innovative folding stand adapts to fit any storage space or travel situation. You can partially fold the stand and the pads, slimming the kit into a smaller size that can easily be placed in the corner of your room. Folding the kit completely reduces the size even further, allowing it to fit into the dedicated carrying case* for out-of-the-way storage and streamlined transport. Setting up the TD-1KPX2 is a breeze—all you need is a dedicated drum tuning key and you’re ready to play in seconds. Simply unfold everything, adjust the stand and pad positions, attach an acoustic kick pedal (not included), and start drumming. *CB-TDP Carrying Case sold separately. Compact Pads and Cymbals with Authentic Playing Feel

While the TD-1KPX2’s pads and cymbals are compact, their playability is not compromised in any way.

The 8-inch PDX-8 and 6.5-inch PDX-6 mesh-head V-Pads feature Roland’s amazing dual-triggering technology for accurate and even sensing between the head and rim. On the PDX-8 snare pad, the rim area expands the pad diameter to 10 inches, allowing for comfortable and quiet rim shots. CY-5 cymbal pads for cymbals and hi-hat provide 10-inch playing surfaces and swinging movement for natural response and great playing feel. The cymbals have separate bow and edge triggering and support chokes for a true-to-life playing experience, while the hi-hats offer smooth and subtle tonal transitions from open to closed. The big story with the TD-1KPX2 is the ability to play double-kick patterns, thanks to the wider kick pad that accommodates two side-by-side beaters when using a twin acoustic kick pedal setup.

Stay Motivated with Onboard Training Functions That Make Learning Fun

Built into the TD-1KPX2 module is a wealth of enjoyable functions to encourage learning, no matter whether you’re teaching yourself to play, studying regularly with an instructor, or simply wanting to keep your skills in shape. Think of this kit as your own live-in drum teacher and personal backing band, packed with tutorial features that develop technique, boost motivation, and help you get the most out of practice time. Play along with the onboard metronome to tighten your timing, and use Coach mode to build and maintain speed, stamina, and accuracy. Get ready for your gigs or band rehearsals by jamming with the internal songs in the sound module, or connect a smartphone or music player via the Mix In jack and drum along with your favorite tunes. And with the handy onboard recording function, you can always get instant feedback on your progress.

Make Music with Your Computer Using a Single Standard USB Cable

The TD-1KPX2 is not just fun to play by itself—it’s also a great way to make music with your computer. Included is a built-in USB-MIDI interface, making it simple to communicate with music software via a single USB cable. Maybe you’ll transfer your playing into your computer-based recording software, capturing a live drum feel in your latest masterpiece. Or perhaps you’ll learn rudimentary drumming techniques using the optional DT-1 V-Drums Tutor software.

Customizable for Quiet Drumming

Quiet playability is essential for most drummers when playing and practicing drums at home. The TD-1KPX2 includes low-noise mesh-head pads for snare and toms, and an ultra-quiet FD-9 Hi-Hat Control Pedal. And by swapping your regular single acoustic pedal kick pedal for an optional KT-9 beater-less kick pedal, you’ll avoid the constant beater “thump” that transfers vibration and noise to those around you. This setup is so quiet it can even be used for night practice with headphones!

Essential Accessories and Options

The wide selection of available accessories and options will further enhance your TD-1KPX2 playing experience. The space-saving PM-03 Personal Monitor with 2.1-channel speaker is the perfect companion for amplifying your drums at home. For beginning drummers, the DAP-3X V-Drums Accessory Package provides everything needed to get playing the TD-1KPX2, including a pair of hickory drumsticks, an acoustic kick pedal, and a drum throne. Specially designed for portable V-Drums, the TDM-3 Drum Mat helps reduce vibration through the floor when playing and protects floor surfaces against damage. The CB-TDP Carrying Case is another useful option, providing a convenient way to transport and protect the TD-1KPX2.

The HPD-20's 13 pads provide an ultra-sensitive response and flexible control options for playing on-board sound but also a great way to control external MIDI instruments with an astounding range of expression. It offers 850 dynamic on-board sounds, plus the ability to import your own samples via USB.

The HPD-20 really comes in to it's own when in a computer music production situation. It's perfect for playing VST instruments, recording MIDI and audio performances in your favourite DAW software and much more. And with convenient trigger inputs you can easily expand the HPD-20 with a Roland pad and hi-hat controller to build a super-compact percussion set.
