Description

Fender Vintera 50s Stratocaster Modified Daphne Blue

The 50s Modified Stratocaster is another guitar in the new 2019 Vintera range of instruments from Fender. It takes from where the Custom Shop designed Classic Player series left off and takes the Strat even closer to a perfect hybrid of 50s aesthetics with modern playability. With a 2 point tremolo system for increased tuning stability, locking vintage style tuners and a modern C shape neck profile with medium jumbo frets, could this be the most versatile Strat ever made?

The really comfortable C shaped neck with the slightly flatter fingerboard makes playing chords and licks so easy and fun. Along with the S1 switching I now can play a Strat with all three hotter voiced pickups on at once! Love it.

Myke Edwards - Bonners Guitar Specialist

S-1 switching
I really love how they have done the S-1 switch on the new Vintera 50s Stratocaster Modified. It simply allows you to add the neck pick up to position 1 (bridge pickup) or position 2 (bridge and middle). What this means is that in position 1 you can basically turn your Strat into the middle position of a Tele and in position 2 you actually have all 3 pickups on at once. A really nice way to add a few new usable tones to an otherwise classic setup.

Hot pickups
Most guitarists will agree that the bell like characteristic of a 50s Stratocaster is one of the sweetest sounding electric guitar tones on the planet. With that said, it is not always the most usable pickup for use with more modern genres of music. The lower output of these pickups will not push amplifiers into natural compression for a percussive clean tone, nor will it push an overdriven amp into high gain territory. Fender gave legendary pickup designer Tim Shaw the challenge of creating a 50s Strat pickup that retains its bell like quality but hits the amp hard enough to produce these modern tones. Of course, after months of research he accomplished the goal and came up with the new Vintage-Style 50s Single-Coil Hot Strat pickup. The perfect pickup for a guitarist that wants just 1 Strat to do everything without needing an army of effect pedals.

Modern C
As much as I love a V shaped neck profile, I do find it difficult to fully let rip or play extended chords that stretch over 4 frets. In keeping with the idea of making the most versatile 50s Strat Fender has added the ever popular modern C shape neck profile to the Vintera 50s modified Strat. The 9.5” fingerboard radius and medium jumbo frets also ensure that string bends ring out as true as they can and makes vibrato, even with heavier strings feel as smooth as possible.

Finance Options

Start owning the musical instrument you want now, today!

If you're set on buying your new instrument, there's no need to get weighed down by the total cost of it straight away. If you break it down into monthly payments over time, it's much more manageable than you might think. And our fixed interest rates mean you'll know exactly what you're paying from the start.

How To Apply For Finance

How it works

The finance options available are displayed on the individual product pages.

Pay a fixed deposit, depending on the price of the purchase. The rest is split into monthly payments up to three years. At the end of your contract when you've made your final payment, the instrument or equipment is all yours. You could own that dream guitar, drum kit or piano sooner than you thought!

Finance is available for selected new and used instruments.

Which Finance Options Are Available?

Most products on our website show the available finance options. Some are interest free, and some are interest bearing. The options shown on the site are an example of what is available - if you would like to pay over a different period, give us a call on 01323 639335 and we’ll try and arrange a finance option that suits your budget.

You can apply for finance online, or over the telephone - call us on 01323 639335 if you'd like to speak to one of our musical instrument experts.

All finance is subject to acceptance by our finance provider and a credit check will be carried out on the applicant.

Please note that the lender is unable to discuss this over the telephone due to Data Protection rules. Fender Vintera 50s Stratocaster Sea Foam Green Guitar The new Fender Vintera 50s Stratocaster in Sea Foam Green is one of the latest instruments from the new 2019 Vintera range. The Vintera range starts from where the old Classic Series ended and pushes this Strat even closer to an original 50s instrument. For those guitarists who lust for a vintage instrument but wants a guitar that they can take out night after night without a security guard on hand, this is the perfect guitar. This is the original era tone look and feel of an absolute classic Stratocaster, you can't go wrong. Giving you an authentic feel and the newly designed pickups are so juicy! Simon Piggott - Bonners Guitar Specialist Alder or Ash 1957 was a significant in the world of Strats. It was the first full year that Fender fully transitioned the Stratocaster to an Alder body instead of Ash. The exact reason why Fender decided to make the change is unknown however it is most likely that it was simply because Alder was a much more available wood and therefore much cheaper. It was also easier to work with which would have certainly made things easy for the growing demand of electric guitars in the later part of the 50s. To many the change actually came as a blessing disguise. Although arguably alder isn’t as attractive as ash it does have a very pronounced upper midrange tonal quality that really did help guitarist cut through the mix. For those who did still prefer the warmth that Ash gave, Fender did still continue to make Strats with an Ash body for transparent finished guitars such as sunburst and blonde. In keeping with this the Vintera 50s Strat offers an Alder version in Sea Foam Green and Sonic Blue and an Ash version in a rather beautiful White Blonde. Updated Soft V An important update on the new Vintera 50s Stratocaster range is the updated soft V neck profile. The soft V has always been one of Fenders most popular neck profiles due the fact that it truly does allow for the player to connect fully with the instrument. No part of the left hand is untouched by the neck of the guitar allowing you to really feel the entire resonance of the instrument. The new updated Vintera version brings you even closer to the authentic feel of a real hand crafted 50s soft V. Bell like tone Fender partnered up with pickup guru/wizard Tim Shaw to completely redesign the pickups used in the new Vintera range of instruments. He spent months locked away studying and listening to actual Strat pickups from 50s to ensure that his new pickups was a close as he could make them. He ensured that he used all the correct magnets, wire types and even wind count to make sure that his pickups captured everything that’s associated with a 50s Strat. Nothing less than bell like organic vintage tone. Part Exchange Your Guitar Looking to cash something in exchange for your Fender Vintera 50s Stratocaster? Fender Vintera 50s Stratocaster Modified Daphne Blue The 50s Modified Stratocaster is another guitar in the new 2019 Vintera range of instruments from Fender. Love it. Myke Edwards - Bonners Guitar Specialist S-1 switching I really love how they have done the S-1 switch on the new Vintera 50s Stratocaster Modified. Hot pickups Most guitarists will agree that the bell like characteristic of a 50s Stratocaster is one of the sweetest sounding electric guitar tones on the planet. Modern C As much as I love a V shaped neck profile, I do find it difficult to fully let rip or play extended chords that stretch over 4 frets. Gibson Les Paul Studio Ebony Electric Guitar Written By Dennis Ralph - Guitar Specialist S/N 110890218 8.16lb The Gibson Les Paul Studio has been a staple product in the Les Paul range since its inception in the 80s. Originally designed as a budget version of the Les Paul Standard, the Studio promised to give the player everything you would get in sound and feel as the more expensive models but without any of the bells and whistles, therefore making it the perfect tool for the studio. The Gibson Les Paul studio has since found its own reputation, not as studio instrument but as a workhorse instrument that's perfect for gig after gig, night after night. The beauty of this guitar is the fact that it's not so expensive that you can't fully let go on it. It's everything you would expect from a pro-level American made electric guitar and with its premium features such as a Nitro finish and Grover tuners, it won't let you down. Stripped Back Rock Machine To me, there is nothing nicer than a stripped back guitar. No glistening gold bits, posh binding or fancy flamey tops. Everything on this guitar is there simply for purpose and to me that is perfect! And of course not forgetting, there is always beauty in simplicity. The colours that Gibson has selected for the studio range (Cherry, Tangerine Burst, Smokehouse Burst and Ebony) perfectly complements the natural grain of the maple top and they partner wonderfully with the rosewood fingerboard. Ultra-Modern Weight Relief Gone are the days that you need to take a chiropractor with you whenever you want to take out your Les Paul thanks to the Ultra-Modern Weight Relief. Underneath the carved maple top is a series of hollowed-out chambers routed into the mahogany body. This drastically reduces the weight of the instrument insuring that its comfortable for the player night after night. 490R, 498T Pickups Gibson describes this pickup combo as the 'Modern Classic'. Its found in quite a number of instruments in their current catalogue. The pickups capture the essence of the legendary PAF pickups from the 50s and 60s however they have been slightly tweaked for the modern player. Firstly, they are waxed potted to ensure that there is never any issues with microphonic feedback when used with high levels of gain and secondly, they are made with 4 conductor wires so they can be used with a push/pull knob for coil splitting. The pickups are also voiced to have a slightly more accentuated upper mid-range so that no matter how much gain you're using, you always cut through. The 498T bridge pickup is slightly overwound for an even hotter sound. Part Exchange Your Guitar Looking to cash something in exchange for your Gibson Les Paul Studio? Ibanez Premium JEM77P BFP Steve Vai Blue Floral Pattern Guitar Steve Vai is a virtuoso guitarist, visionary composer, and consummate producer who sculpts musical sound with infinite creativity and technical mastery. At age 12, he started taking guitar lessons from Joe Satriani. At 18, he began his professional musical career transcribing for, and then playing with, the legendary Frank Zappa. More than three decades, 15-million in album sales, and three GRAMMY Awards later, Vai has proven himself, in his own right, one of music's true originals. Vai's signature instruments include the Ibanez JEM guitar, which he designed in 1985 with first-of-its-kind features including the floating tremolo and the monkey grip. The JEM is now one of the longest running, most successful signature series guitars in history, and for over a decade its sister model-the RG-is second in worldwide sales only to the Fender Stratocaster. Also for Ibanez, Vai designed "The Universe," the first commercial 7-string electric guitar. This Ibanez JEM77P BFB Plue Floral is one of the best looking in the Jem range. With the Maple neck with the Blue Floral design on the fingerboard and down through onto the body, the Blue pickups and controls and the black hardware this guitar is amazing. Vintage V100 - Gloss Black with Gold Hardware Guitar The rock-solid combination of mahogany bodies and set necks, matched to top quality Wilkinson hardware and pickups means the Vintage V100 really sings! In terms of looks and attitude, few guitars can match the out and out appeal of the Vintage V100. Offering an extraordinarily high level of specification, the build quality and constructional detail of the Vintage V100 includes a solid mahogany body and neck mated in true 'set neck’ fashion for maximum tone-enhancing rigidity. An accurately-carved gently arched body top additionally adds to the V100’s distinctive look. The mahogany and maple tonewoods are the ideal recipe for the kind of sounds that this style of guitar is renowned for – smokey, sultry, sweet-toned bluesy licks with a warm jazzy feel from the neck pickup help soothe the soul with an emotional calm. Charging to the other extreme with a flick of the 3-way selector switch allows the back pickup to rage and rampage through high gain amplification like no other. The Vintage V100 is a perfect example of Trev Wilkinson’s fascination with tone. Whilst working in California, Trev’s development work in the guitar industry led him to a meeting with the father of the humbucking pickup, Seth Lover. Recognising a kindred enquiring and inventive guitar spirit, Seth Lover imparted to Trev the exact specification of the mythical pickup units he designed, and that same authentic vintage voiced recipe is what Trev uses in the V100’s humbuckers to ensure you can get that elusive iconic tone from the Vintage V100. The V100’s rock solid chassis allows for positive string anchoring and location with the precision-manufactured Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece. On the elegantly-shaped headstock, a set of three-a-side Wilkinson WJ44 tuners offers both the precise tuning feel and accuracy you’d expect from this type of guitar and – of course – the correct look, too. The Trev Wilkinson-designed Vintage V100 features a unique evolutionary body shape with a graceful descending bass side shoulder and an ingeniously designed offset heel providing improved access to the ‘dusty-end’ of the guitar's upper frets and opening up your playing.
