Epiphone Guitars

We are thrilled to be able to present a gorgeous collection of Epiphone guitars here at Bonners Music. If you are going for a guitar with a rich history, then Epiphone is going to be up there. One of the oldest guitar makers in America, the Epiphone guitar symbolises invention and the art of never compromising when it comes the achievement of excellence.

A rich and deep history

From its foundation all the way back in 1873 in Turkey, to its journey across the seas to America, and to the injection of that American drive for entrepreneurship and endeavour, the Epiphone has quite the story to tell. You could also choose to tell its story in talking about the kind of pioneering musicians who have picked up their guitars. With the likes of Hank Garland, John Lee Hooker, The Beatles, Nirvana, The Strokes and Radiohead just giving you a sense of some of the iconic artists and bands who have played Epiphones, you have got to think that they have been doing something right.

Looks great, sounds even better

You can tell that they do a lot right simply by looking at an Epiphone guitar, which is always a thing of beauty. These are instruments which offer you something truly special, physical manifestations of levels of craft expertise to which we can only give our deepest thanks. And, also thankfully, the sound isn't too bad either.

Explore our wide range

Whether you are going for a Les Paul, an SG, an Explorer, Flying V, Casino, Sheraton or any guitar which has been designed and manufactured by the good people at Epiphone, the level of quality and attention to detail of all their instruments is reflected with the guitars and basses being so popular by all guitar players.

Epiphone DC Pro Black Guitar Seeing Double The DC in Epiphones DC Pro is an acronym for Double Cut. It is referring to the cutaways on both sides of the neck at the top of the body. This is a rare sight on an Epiphone, especially if one is accustomed to the sight of the single-cut design of one of their most popular models, the Les Paul. This unique and signifying feature of the body shape lends the guitar a sleek, modern, utilitarian, player-focused edge. Its looks bleed through into the design ethos behind its electronics too establishing the guitar as a real forward focussed instrument. The DC Pro is a modernised take on the now discontinued Epiphone Del Rey Double Cut design from the late 90s. The Del Ray was a more subtle re-carving of a traditional Les Paul shape that gave the player better access up at the dusty end of the neck. The DC Pro takes that original concept and runs with it to make some deeper changes to the aesthetics and playability to create a truly unique and independent design. Looking Ahead The DC Pro epitomises Epiphones efforts to design something with modernity in mind. This guitar is designed to provide freedom and versatility at every junction. Be it through allowing absolute access at any position on the neck thanks to its double-cutaway, through to its cutting edge electronics and pickups. It is guitar made to suit the modern player with ease of use and functionality in mind. It is not a model weighed down by certain practices and ideals of the past. Aside from the iconic body shape and neck accessibility, the DC Pros electronics are another forward-thinking, state-of-the-art edition. The guitar features a pair of ProBucker humbuckers but the wiring that accompanies them is where things get really interesting. The wiring provides near enough every modern feature that one might ask for. Firstly, the volume controls are both push/pull knobs which allow you to split the humbuckers into single-coil pickups by pulling the neck or bridge volume controls up. This can convert the DC Pro from a traditional Les Paul tonality into a thinner, more Fendery landscape in the blink of an eye. Furthermore, the guitar features another push/pull control in the neck tone control which allows for phase reversal of the neck pickup. This allows you to access the famous out of phase humbucking sound made famous by Gary Moore. The volume controls also feature a treble bleed circuit. This is an always active feature that means that turning down the volume of the pickups does not decrease the amount of treble present. The pickups tonality remains exactly the same, it just gets quieter. Without this feature, pickups warm-up (or lose treble) whilst you are turning down the volume. Best Of Both Worlds The Epiphone DC Pro is a great choice if youre looking for uninhibited playability, iconic looks, tonal flexibility, and modern electronic amenities. Its a really cool option for anyone looking to get that glorious vintage feeling and tone of the past but with an eye, an ear, and one foot in the future. Why Bonners? Epiphone Dot ES-335 Vintage Sunburst Guitar The Epiphone Dot is Epiphone's version of the venerable ES-335 “Dot”, has been wowing guitar players all over the world for over four decades. Vintage models (with vintage problems) can’t complete with our Epiphone Dot, which is simply one of the best deals today for guitar players who want the classic sound of an ES-335 at an affordable price. Epiphone is long famous for its own original semi-hollowbody models from the 1950s Kalamazoo, Michigan era, including the Riviera and the Sheraton. During the same time those guitars were designed and constructed in Kalamazoo, the ES 335, first introduced in 1958, became a favorite of blues, rock, country, and pop acts for its elegant design and wide array of colorful tone combinations. Now, the Epiphone Dot, named in reference to its simple "Dot" fingerboard inlays, brings the sustain and resonance of the clsssic semi-hollow design for a bounty less than most solid body guitars. The “Dot” is the same axe that has been the bell weather of every rock and roll breakthrough. And now for the first time, the “Dot” puts that classic sound and over 40 years of refinements in your hands, the Epiphone way.
