Stevie Ray Vaughan Guitar Fender's Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Guitar brings the unique tone of one of the all-time great guitarists into the hands of players and collectors everywhere. This 'as-new' rendition of the guitarist's legendary "Number One" Strat faithfully reimagines the Texas bluesman's sound and style with the build and playability of a modern instrument. "With the engraved scratchplate and gold hardware the guitar looks amazing. The feel of the neck is lovely, not too fat and is great for chord work as well as lead playing. The Texas Special pickups have a real bite without sounding too bright and will drive any valve amp beautifully." Myke Edwards - Bonners Guitar Specialist Undoubtedly one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Stevie Ray Vaughan rose to prominence in the late 70s with a series of ground-breaking blues albums (Texas Flood, Soul to Soul etc) that showcased his unique playing style. Fast, loud and incredibly skillful, SRV was one of those few guitarists that developed an inimitable sound that has influenced countless other players since. SRV bought the original "Number One" Strat in 1974 and it became his favourite guitar and features on all five studio albums. He called it his "first wife'! Over the years he made several modifications which are reproduced accurately here. The thick, early-60s oval neck profile gives a comfortable hand feel and more weight for tone and sustain while the pau ferro fingerboard with jumbo frets allows for a better grip, so you can get more control over bends and vibrato both are ideal for players with bigger hands. Single coil Texas Special pickups are over-wound for a huge tone with a blistering output great for those trademark screams and howls but with a lot of sensitivity for quieter playing. The reverse vintage-style "upside down" tremolo bridge was an accidental feature of the original Number One but SRV grew to love it as it was similar to Hendrix's set up. The signature engraved SRV pickguard, gold-plated hardware finish and three-colour sunburst colour complete the authentic look of this highly desirable Strat even if you're not a fan of Stevie Ray this is a sensational guitar for anyone looking for a blues machine. switch between humbucker and single coil modes in a single switch when you want to change things up quickly.
