Kawai MP7SE Introduction

The MP7SE is one of the best-kept secrets of the stage piano world. Stunning Shigeru Kawai piano samples, pro-level master keyboard controls, and a great palette of voices to cover popular genres of music, all at a price below competitive manufacturer's instruments.

Tony White - Bonners Piano Specialist

The new Kawai MP7 SE stage piano is a high-quality performance piano keyboard. The MP7SE not only offers superb acoustic and electronic piano tones, but also hundreds of great ‘other’ sounds which make this the ideal versatile piano keyboard for use on stage or in the studio. Handy real-time controllers make for easy sound shaping, and the bright backlit 128 x 64 LCD display along with LED panel buttons mean you’ll find this keyboard easy to use even on the darkest of stages! You can even add the new Grand Feel GFP-3 triple pedal (additional cost) for a life-like grand piano experience.

See The MP7SE In-Store

Bonners are stage piano specialists and we stock a wide range of the latest instruments from all the major manufacturers including Kawai, Roland, Yamaha, Nord and Korg. Come along to one of our stores to compare the MP7SE alongside other comparable models from alternative manufacturers. This ensures you are making the right decision when choosing your next stage / studio piano. We have branches in Surrey (Reigate) and Sussex (Eastbourne) where you can see a vast selection of keyboards and digital pianos. Call us to check current in-store availability of this model.

Kawai MP7-SE Keyboard Action

The MP7-SE is fitted with the acclaimed RH3 Action. The RH3 keyboard features let-off (just like an acoustic grand), and has ivory touch key surfaces which make it a joy to play over prolonged periods of performance. The triple sensors capture every nuance of your performance, and the counterweights ensure the return of every note is fast and balanced.

The Sound of THREE Kawai Grand Pianos

Kawai have packed the MP7SE with their very best piano samples. The flagship sound is that of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand. This powerful piano tone has enough body to cut through the mix when performing on stage, whilst still capable delivering a truly expressive performance when required. This is certainly one of the best piano samples in the current range of digital pianos from all the major manufacturers.

In addition to the SK-EX Concert Grand, there are samples from the studio sized SK5 grand which is ideal for popular music. The EX Concert Grand piano sound is also present – this tone has become a popular favourite with owners of Kawai digital pianos over the past few years and we’re pleased it has been included in the new MP7 SE model.

USB Audio Player / Recorder

The MP7SE allows recording of internal sounds to an external USB storage device (not included). It is also possible to playback pre-recorded files in .WAV or .MP3 formats.

256 Note Polyphony

The 256-note polyphony of the Kawai MP7-SE means you’ll never suffer with notes dropping out – even when you’ve layered multiple sounds and using copious amounts of sustain pedal!

256 Sounds / 4 Zones & 256 User Memory Slots

There are 256 different sounds in the MP7SE covering genres such as pianos, organs, clavs, strings, brass, synths, woodwind, orchestral and more. It’s possible to layer/split up to four voices together using the independent keyboard zones, or you can assign a zone to an external sound source such as a MIDI sound module or other keyboard which gives even more flexibility on stage.

Once you’ve set up your sounds, it is possible to store the complete keyboard setup to a user memory location. There are a total of 256 user memories for storing your own setups. These setups can be named and instantly recalled during a performance.

Tonewheel Organ Sounds

If you need quality tonewheel drawbar organ sounds, the MP7SE delivers in this department too. It’s possible to create your favourite classic organ tones using the on-screen drawbars. Add the rotary speaker effect and a little overdrive, and you have a convincing sound of a screaming Hammond organ!

Customise Your Own Piano Tones Using the Kawai Virtual Technician

The MP7SE includes Kawai’s Virtual Technician feature for creating your own unique piano tones. Alter characteristics of the core piano samples including damper resonance, individual note tuning, individual note voicing, hammer noise, string resonance and more. Save your own customised piano sounds to the internal memory for recall later.

Kawai 5 Year Warranty

The MP7SE is supplied with a genuine five-year manufacturer’s warranty. This indicates the excellent build quality and confidence Kawai has in the MP7SE.

Beautifully Designed

The MP7-SE is beautifully designed to not only look great, but inspire the player. High gloss polished ebony wooden end panels complete the overall high-end quality look and feel of this instrument.

On-Board Pro Quality Effects plus 4-Band EQ

There are 140 editable effects in the MP7-SE including reverbs, chorus, delays, modulation effects and even an amp simulator to add a bit of ‘dirt’ to your electric piano tones. The global 4-band EQ means you can adjust your overall tone to suit the environment in which you’re playing.

Simultaneous bidirectional MIDI & USB-MIDI

It is possible to stream MIDI data to external devices connected to both the traditional 5pin MIDI connectors and USB-MIDI socket at the same time. This means you could be triggering sounds from another MIDI equipped keyboard whilst simultaneously playing a VST softsynth from your laptop.

Pro Quality Inputs & Outputs

The MP7SE is equipped with 1/4" jack audio outputs, as well as stereo line in for mixing the playback of external devices through the MP7SE’s audio outputs. Headphone output is conveniently located, and there are traditional MIDI in/out/thru ports, as well as USB to host and device connectors.

They have meticulously sampled every single one of the 88 notes of their flagship Shigeru Kawai SK-EX instrument for the MP11SE and the result is absolutely stunning. The Shigeru SK-EX sound is responsive and expressive, as well as being powerful and bold when required. The combination of the wooden Grand Feel key action along with the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX piano sound means its easy to lose yourself for hours when playing the MP11SE the same experience you would get from playing a high-end acoustic grand. In addition to the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX piano voice, the MP11SE is equipped with the sound of two other popular Kawai acoustic pianos the SK5 (a studio size grand piano which is ideal for pop and jazz styles), as well as the Kawai EX concert grand sound which gives a brighter tone than the Shigeru Kawai sample. There are multiple samples of various vintage electric pianos including Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzers and even modern FM ballad pianos. These can all be customised using the virtual technician feature, and effects can be applied such as chorus and amp simulator to give an authentic vintage sound. 40 Sounds In Total All the important keyboard sounds are present and correct in the MP11SE, including acoustic pianos, electric pianos, clavs, harpsichords, synth pads, orchestral strings and more. The MP11SE does not have solo instrument sounds (such as sax, flute & brass) because all the focus is on the piano & keyboard tones. The synth pads, choirs and string sounds provide excellent layer options and its possible to create some really lush textures that will inspire you to play and play and play! Pro Quality Effects Processor On-Board The MP11SE is equipped with a professional studio quality effects processor which offers a total of 129 different customisable effects including reverbs, delays, chorus, phaser, wah, flanger, amp sim, rotary speaker and many more. In addition to the effects, there is a global four band graphic equaliser so that you can tailor the tone of your sound to match the environment in which you are performing. Professional MIDI Controller There are four keyboard zones on the MP11SE which can be split or layered as you please across the keyboard. In addition, any of these four zones can be assigned to either an internal sound or external MIDI part. Both the traditional 5 pin MIDI sockets and USB-MIDI connectors can be used simultaneously to transmit & receive data which means you can be playing the sound of a connected external MIDI equipped keyboard or sound module, whilst also triggering the sound of your favourite softsynth on your laptop. Virtual Technician There may be times when you want to create or customise your own piano sounds and the Kawai Virtual Technician feature allows you to do just that. You have complete control over individual note attributes such as hammer noise, string resonance, tuning, tone/voicing, key noise and more. Save your own customised piano sounds into one of the on-board user memory locations. USB Audio Recorder & Player The MP11SE allows you to record the instruments own sound as a high quality audio file direct to a USB memory device (not included). You can also playback pre-recorded audio files from USB in .MP3 or .WAV format. Connections The MP11SE is a professional level stage instrument and is therefore equipped with balanced XLR audio outputs, as well as standard line outputs. There are 5pin MIDI IN/OUT/THRU sockets, as well as USB to host and device connections. The stereo line-in allows streaming of external audio devices to me mixed with the sound of the MP11SE and sent back through the instruments audio outs. Headphone socket is conveniently located for personal monitoring. Part Exchange Your Existing Instrument Bonners offers a very easy trade-in scheme for your existing instrument. Roland RD2000 Stage Piano History Of The Roland RD2000 In 1986, Roland introduced the groundbreaking RD1000 digital stage piano. At the time, the RD1000 was the most advanced digital piano and featured Roland’s advanced SA synthesis technology to produce the best possible piano sound. By today’s standards, the piano sounds on the RD1000 are not particularly realistic, but they have a distinctive tone that is both dynamic and expressive, and has been used by countless artists including Elton John, Oleta Adams, Richard Marx to name but a few. Fast-forward 30 years to the present day and Roland have once-again broken the boundaries of piano sound technology with the introduction of the flagship RD2000 Stage Piano. The Best Roland Keyboard Action The RD2000 is a professional piano keyboard featuring the acclaimed PHA-50 key action. This key action is manufactured using a combination of wood outer sides, and a synthetic material core. This gives the best of both worlds - traditional natural materials for look and feel, and synthetic parts for maximum reliability over many years of performance. See & Try The RD2000 At Bonners Piano Stores We are stage piano specialists and show the Roland RD2000 on demonstration in both our stores. Our Reigate Showroom is located within easy reach of London - just 2 miles from JCT 8 on the M25 motorway, and our large Eastbourne store is on the South Coast - just 30mins drive from Brighton & Hastings. Both our piano shops have free on-site parking. Check our showroom pages for opening times. Part Exchange Your Existing Instrument If you already own a keyboard or digital piano that you would like to upgrade to the new Roland RD2000, email us details of what you have to and we’ll get straight back to you with a valuation. We can take care of collection of your old instrument at the same time as delivery of a new RD2000. In most cases, you can even spread the payment of the outstanding balance using one of our interest free finance options. M-Audio BX8 D3 Studio Monitor Speakers Pair M-Audio BX8 D3 Studio Monitor Speakers Pair

A studio monitor is no ordinary loudspeaker. Unlike a conventional speaker, a true monitor must be unerringly accurate, with a flat frequency response and vanishingly low distortion. It has to tell you, the music producerdependably and unquestionablyexactly what is or is not in your recording. In a studio-grade monitor speaker, there is no place for the usual list of speaker colorations and limitations prevalent in conventional loudspeakers. Response peaks\dips, uneven polar response, high THD, nasal midrange, bloated mid-bass, and crossover-induced phase incoherence do nothing but undermine the confidence demanded for superior mix performance. Introducing M-Audios BX8 D3 monitors the return of a studio icon and the successor to the industry-renowned BX D2 monitors. Trusted by recording/mix engineers and composers globally, M-Audios BX monitors guarantee absolute surgical precision and repeatable engineering excellence. Listen with confidence: with M-Audios BX8 D3 studio reference monitors, youll hear everything in lifelike detail, so your mixes and recordings will sound their best! Monitor Performance Starts with Driver Excellence A monitors drivers are the heart and soul of its performance. Driving the low-end and midrange, BX8-D3s 8-inch military-grade Kevlar woofers are rigid and lightweight, delivering outstanding transient response whist negating unwanted cone breakup. BX8-D3s treated silk dome tweeter provides the perfect combination of low mass and the absence of audible resonances that plague conventional tweeters. Together, the BX drivers deliver critical detail, nuance and dynamic accuracy, so your mixes have the veracity and transparency you demand. More Than Just an Enclosure With M-Audios BX8-D3, every detail has been meticulously engineered with one goal in mind - to facilitate the freedom to mix with confidence. BX8-D3 monitors have a rear-mounted bass port, meticulously engineered to the exact length and diameter. The result? Deep, defined bass response with maximum bass extension and resolution. When combined with a smoothly-flared port, BX8-D3 monitors markedly reduce the audibly-intrusive air turbulence that results when bass is played back at high sound pressure levels (SPLs). BX8-D3s tweeter is mounted in a custom waveguide for reliably accurate dispersion that eliminates unwanted high-frequency scatter, whilst ensuring a soundstage that remains consistently wide and stable. For seamless setup and easy-location of the optimum listening position, the BX8-D3s front-mounted positioning LED shines brightly when youre located in the perfect listening spot, for uncompromisingly accurate and reliable critical evaluations. Finally, BX8-D3s iconic design on the front panelM-Audios famous keyhole shapeis more than just an attractive look: This special fastenerless design ensures so there are no driver attachment screw heads to interfere with the sound coming from our drivers. High-Current, High Headroom Class A/B Bi-Amplified Power Efficient and accurate: Driving the BX8-D3 monitors are two Class A/B internal amplifiers that power the woofer and tweeter separately - each optimized for the specific frequency range it handles and engineered to complement the characteristics of its companion driver. A precision-tuned crossover guarantees each driver only handles the frequencies that it produces most efficiently for a sound that is cohesive across the entire frequency spectrum. Play louder with less audible distortion: The BX8-D3 bi-amplified design is a far more efficient and accurate way to power a loudspeaker than using a single full-range amplifier to drive multiple driver elements. Tailor-Made Sound At M-Audio, we understand no two listening spaces are the same. Therefore, the BX8-D3 monitors custom tailors your sound to your environment, so you will always experience sonically-true, reassuringly-accurate sound reproduction. Negate problematic bass frequencies and limit the impact of nuisance standing waves thanks to BX8-D3s special Acoustic Space control for precise adjustment of BX8-D3s sound output in line with your studio space. Connectivity Covered Whatever your needs, the BX8-D3 Studio monitors guarantee to assimilate into your existing setup with ease. Combining conveniently-located rear-mounted XLR and 1/4-inch balanced inputs, BX8-D3 connects to virtually any studio equipment including mixers, interfaces, DJ gear and more. Its Far More Than The Sum of Its Parts M-Audios BX8-D3 monitors excel in every way, making them the rightful successor to the original studio icon. Fusing superb drivers, meticulously-engineered enclosures, great-sounding amplifiers, versatile control options and standardized connection facilities, BX8-D3 delivers sound quality you can trust. These are monitors that take your music as seriously as you do.
