When you buy a new Kawai NV5s from Bonners, our experts will deliver, set up, and install your new piano in the room of your choice. We use our own dedicated piano delivery experts and also specify a time of delivery (we'll also call you on the day to try and be as exact as possible!). We believe that buying a new piano should be an exciting occasion and we want you to have the best experience possible. If you have any special requests, please call us to discuss them - we're always happy to do the very best we can! Please be aware that the NV5s is supplied in one piece and may not be suitable for carrying up some staircases. Contact us before ordering if you need upstairs delivery - an additional charge may apply.

Millennium III Hybrid upright piano keyboard action
The Kawai Novus NV5s has a piano keyboard that is very similar in design and construction to that found in a traditional acoustic upright piano. The keyboard weighting and sensitivity replicate that of an acoustic instrument, which means that it should be easy to transition from one instrument to another.

The Novus NV5s is one of the very best digital instruments on the market for practising for exams, performances and recitals, as well as being the perfect instrument for beginners who want to learn piano but require the convenient functions of a digital instrument. The optical hammer sensing system ensures that every nuance and subtlety of your performance is replicated by the instrument.

Real upright piano damper mechanism for true key and pedal weighting
When using the damper pedal on an acoustic piano, the weighting of the keyboard is slightly reduced. The Novus NV5s is the only upright Hybrid Piano that faithfully replaces this behaviour and adds to the overall authenticity of the musical experience.

SK-EX Rendering sound engine with multi-channel piano sampling
Kawai has been manufacturing Acoustic pianos for over 90 years, and their latest flagship instrument is the magnificent Shigeru Kawai SK-EX Concert Grand. Kawai has meticulously sampled (recorded) the sound of the SK-EX Concert Grand using multi-channel recording techniques and it is this sound that you hear when you first play the NV5s. There are, of course, a huge range of different piano tones for a wide range of musical tastes, plus other voices such as E.PIano, Harpsichord, Strings, Organ and more. The NV5s is certainly versatile and it allows you to practice both traditional acoustic piano music, as well as being more creative by using the other instrument voices.

Premium audio processing, amplification, and speaker technologies powered by Onkyo
With such beautiful instrument voices present in the NV5s, Kawai needed an audio system to do justice to their new instrument. Kawai has partnered with high-end hi-fi audio manufacturer Onkyo to produce the amplification systems in their prestigious musical instruments. The NV5s features a massive 135W (45W x 3) Onkyo amplification system which drives the TwinDrive Soundboard Speaker System and 8 cm x 4 (Onkyo top speakers) plus 2 cm x 2 (Onkyo dome tweeters).

The voice of an acoustic piano is produced by means of a wooden soundboard at the rear of the instrument which vibrates and envelopes the player in sound. Kawai has replicated the natural ambience of an acoustic instrument by implementing a Soundboard Speaker System into their higher range models, including the Novus NV5s. There are small internal speakers mounted onto the soundboard at the back of the NV5s, which amplify the sound of the piano through the natural wood. This results in a more 'open' and resonant sound than that of digital pianos equipped with a standard stereo speaker system.

Integrated Bluetooth MIDI and audio for wireless communication with smart devices
Tradition meets the future with the Novus NV5s. it is possible to stream audio from your smart device or computer using wireless Bluetooth technology. The sound of your favourite tracks is enhanced with the combination of Onkyo amplification and Kawai Soundboard Speaker system. Bluetooth MIDI compatibility enables the connection of the piano to your favourite recording apps & software - all completely wirelessly, including the handy"Piano Remote" app from Kawai.

Touchscreen Interface
The Novus NV5s is operated by using a familiar 5" LCD touchscreen display which is running Kawai's latest digital piano operating system. Navigation through the menus to change voices, set the metronome and record your performance is all very intuitive, and you can even name and save your favourite voice combinations for recall at a later time.

The display hides when not in use and blends into the shiny black finish of the Novus cabinet to retain the piano's traditional appearance.

Virtual Technician - Customise Your Piano
The popular Virtual Technician function allows access to 19 adjustable parameters such as Voicing (incl. 88-key User Voicing), Damper Resonance, Damper Noise, String Resonance, Cabinet Resonance, Tuning, Touch and a large number of other technical details which allow you to create your own unique piano sound. It is possible to store your own piano voices to the memory of the NV5s for instant recall.

Record Your performance
There's nothing more pleasing than to be able to record your performance and listen back - whether for pleasure or for checking your progress when learning difficult musical passages. The Kawai Novus NV5s has a convenient WAV/MP3/MIDI file record and playback facility which records directly to USB memory (not supplied). This makes sharing your music with family and friends extremely simple.
