Ex-Display Grandstage 88 Stage Piano includes Flight Case! The Korg GrandStage models set a new level for stage & studio performance piano keyboards. Two models are available - a full length 88 note model, plus a 73 note compact version. Both models are equipped with Korg’s RH3 premium Japanese quality keyboard action and are supplied with a dedicated music stand that can be attached to the instrument. You’ll also find a Korg DS1H half-damping pedal in the box and a newly designed chrome-plated keyboard stand, known as the Standard-M-SV. User Interface - Designed For On-Stage Tweaking! The intuitive user-interface of the Grandstage make is easy to select the desired sound from the massive library of voices available. Korg have placed the most frequently used sounds such as pianos & organs on the right hand side of the panel, whilst ensemble sounds such as synths & strings are selected on the left side. Effects can be accessed directly from front-panel controls. The Grandstage is designed with live performers in mind and straightforward operation makes it easy to adjust your sound on-the-fly. Lightweight & Portable The Grandstage 88 weighs just 20kg and the 73 note version is 17kg, so these instruments are extremely portable, and ideal for use on the road. In total the Grandstage ships with 500 preset sounds which can be manipulated, layered and routed through effects to create your own unique “favourite” patches. We love the use of Korg’s SST “Smooth Sound Transition” - this means it’s possible to switch between sounds without any un-natural cutting off of the previous voices & effects. It’s hard to imagine playing an instrument without this feature nowadays, and SST has been further-enhanced especially for Grandstage. Here is our run-through of the Grandstage’s different sound engines and their individual capabilities: SGX-2 Acoustic Piano Sound Engine Featuring Korg’s SGX-2 piano sound engine, five concert grand pianos from the leading manufacturers of acoustic pianos including Berlin, Heidelberg, Austria, Japan and Italy have been perfectly sampled. Plus there is a beautiful upright piano for it’s distinctive tonal qualities. The piano sounds were created using large capacity unlooped stereo samples and every key has been recorded at multiple velocity levels to give the detailed and maximum expression of an acoustic piano. There are also mono piano samples which are suited to live performance use - these are not simply a mix of stereo samples, but genuine mono recordings that will cut through clearly through a band mix. EP-1 Electric Piano Sound Engine As well as ultra-realistic acoustic piano sounds, the Grandstage features six vintage electric piano tones including Rhodes and Wurlitzer samples. These convincing ep sounds can be routed through amp, cabinet and speaker simulators to create classic tones and then finished off with vintage modelled effects for the final touches. The electric piano sounds in the Grandstage are definitely amongst the most convincing we’ve heard from a sample based instrument and in a blind test, we believe it would be hard to tell the difference between the Grandstage and an original 70’s electric piano. Organ Sound Engines Grandstage pianos also feature three high quality Organ Sound engines to recreate the sounds of Korg, Vox and Farfisa instruments. These iconic tones are still extremely popular in modern music and as with the piano sounds, Korg have literally “pulled out all the stops” to provide the highest quality organ sounds for stage and studio use. HD-1 PCM Sound Engine Korg’s HD1 PCM sound engine delivers high quality samples of popular keyboard instruments such as clavs, harpsichords, mellotron, classical pipe organs and even a beautiful Yamaha DX7 electric piano sample that is ideal for ballads! AL-1 Analog Modelling Sound Engine The AL-1 analog modelling sound engine is ideal for creating fat brass & reed sounds, as well as unusual synth leads and pad sounds.

KROME EX MUSIC WORKSTATION Ex-Display The Korg Krome EX88 is equipped with KORG’s NH (Natural Weighted Hammer Action) keyboard, ensuring that every nuance of your playing dynamics will be expressively reflected when playing sounds such as piano or electric piano. KROME, the best-selling synth-focused on packing the most usable sounds into an easy to use platform, has received a major refresh. Updated to meet the needs of the current music scene, KROME EX has a special emphasis on sounds that can immediately fit into productions of all types. In addition to standard sounds that will never grow old, KROME EX provides numerous new programs and PCM data, including piano programs prepared specifically for this product. This instrument provides high-quality and immediately-usable sounds that take full advantage of the KROME's high performance specs. The new body also features a newly revamped build and look to accompany the new sounds. The Latest Cutting Edge Voices First we focus on EDM (Electronic Dance Music) that has conquered the world. Rich, effect-laden polyphonic sounds that evoke massive rooms, clear and crisp synth leads, and punchy drum kits that get listeners moving are some of the new staple sounds that we've added. Ethnic instruments such as steel pan, kalimba, and kokyu, as well as Hollywood-type sound effects frequently used in movie trailers or commercials are also newly provided. KROME EX features a musical catalogue for today, where users can simply select a program and immediately begin composingfresh-sounding tracks. The best of the basics Having bread-and-butter sounds that are always usable is a top priority for our sound designers. The KROME EX is equipped with sounds that are intended for longevity, such as the piano and electric piano that are the foundation of any keyboard, as well as drums that are indispensable for a workstation. KROME EX’s piano sounds are crucial Piano sounds are critically important for nearly every keyboard instrument. The KROME EX is equipped with new grand piano sounds. These sounds were recorded under the supervision of Seigen Ono, the authority on DSD recording and mastering, and provide a beautifully clear sound that builds on the success of the "German D Grand" that exemplifies the original KROME, further expanding the range of piano sounds. An upright piano frequently used in pop is also newly included. Electric pianos with beautiful warmth and realism For many keyboardists, a realistic electric piano sound is just as critical as an artisanal acoustic piano sound. KROME features three types of electric pianos. Eight velocity levels have been used to ensure faithful expression response. Lavish amounts of PCM memory have been used for this purpose, to the extent that just one of these electric piano types contains more sample data than the entire sound memory of a typical PCM synthesizer. In addition, the vintage amps, cabinets, and classic effects so important to these timeless sounds have been painstakingly modelled, offering a fully immersive electric piano experience. Dual polyphonic arpeggiators In Combination mode or Sequencer mode, two arpeggiators can be run simultaneously. In addition to standard arpeggio patterns, these arpeggiators can generate guitar or bass riffs, drum patterns, or they can even be used as building blocks for sound design, to create pads, synth sounds, and sound effects that include subtle motion. You're also free to edit any of the patterns to create your own custom originals. Expertly created, in-demand sounds including 896 Programs and 512 Preload Combinations In addition to piano, electric piano, and drums, KROME EX has a plentiful array of sounds to cover a broad range of styles that will meet a wide variety of needs. Stimulate your creativity by selecting any of the 896 Programs or 512 Combinations. Each one has been carefully created by professional studio and performing musicians to provide exceptional real-world use for both rich clean backing parts or soaring solos. Plus you can tweak, customize, create, and save your own sounds as well. Intuitive TouchView™ interface KROME EX’s huge 800 x 480 pixel TouchView Colour display can show numerous parameters at once, ensuring great visibility. Simply touch the screen to change sounds or edit parameters. Finger-drag editing is also supported, allowing you to use the on-screen sliders and knobs directly. Numerous functions take advantage of the TouchView interface, such as the piano roll editor, a stopwatch that’s convenient for keeping track of a live performance, and a calculator keypad that is convenient for entering numerical values. USB and SD Storage You can connect KROME EX to your computer via USB to easily transfer MIDI data. You can also use an SD card (commercially available) to manage the KROME EX’s data files.
