Yamaha CVP701 Digital Piano; Black Walnut If you’re a nervous novice or a more experienced player ready to take your playing to a new level of expertise and want an instrument that can help you achieve your ambitions, the Yamaha CVP701 digital piano is the right choice. This premium quality digital instrument welcomes all levels of player – from the novice just beginning their musical journey to the more advanced player who wants to experiment with new ways of producing more complex soundscapes. Packed with original features and drawing on the expertise of Yamaha’s 100 years of piano making, the CVP701 is an exceptional instrument with Real Grand Expression technology for an authentic sound and feel. What is Real Grand Expression? You don’t have to be seated at a full-sized, nine-foot instrument to get that genuine grand experience. The touch, the feel, the sound of a grand – all of that can be replicated electronically, if you know what you’re doing. And Yamaha certainly does! Not only do they have over a century of experience in developing and making some of the concert grands in the world, but their reputation as one of the planet’s electronics giants means that they have both the technical expertise and musical experience to recreate that authentic grand sound. Yamaha have sampled two of the greats – their very own CFX concert grand, and the mighty Bosendorfer Imperial concert grand – note for note. Tuned to perfection and played by award-winning virtuoso musicians, each note has been sampled and blended together to create a unique voice. This voice has then been transposed into the heart of the CVP701, giving it that bold, rich and complex range of expression – exactly what you’d expect from a grand. But it doesn’t end there. As well as the authentic acoustic sound, the touch and feel of the piano has to be right too. So the CVP701 digital piano incorporates the GH3X (Graded Hammer 3X) keyboard with escapement and synthetic ivory keytops, which has the same action and tactile sensation as a genuine grand. The pedal action is also designed to replicate a grand, and it’s a combination of this and the instrument’s voice that gives you that ‘Real Grand Expression’ experience. Perfect for beginners Some digital pianos can be a little intimidating if you’re a novice player. The CVP701 is a user-friendly piano that actively encourages new players to expand their skills and explore their musical creativity. The CVP is like a patient music teacher; if you’re not playing the right note then the piano will simply wait until you do! The unique Guide feature and Follow Lights lead novices through the action of playing by leading with visible lights. As you work through the melody, guided by the lights, the instrument overlays backing tracks of orchestras and other instruments, so that it plays along with you, rather than you struggling to play along with the instrument. This boosts confidence in novice players and actively encourages you to practice more! A host of extras The CVP701 is designed to be a comprehensive and intuitive instrument that’s packed with a host of additional extras, including: A selection of vintage electric piano voices as well as the CFCX and Bosendorfer Session Mode lets you play with three virtual session musicians Practice and perform in 40 available musical styles Dynamics Control automatically follows your harmonies and volume expression, ensuring a balanced sound in both the bass and treble registers Accompaniment Styles enhance your performances with ensembles of virtual musicians Follow Lights library teaches novice players popular melodies in an intuitive, easy-to-follow way Auxiliary input for connection of your MP3 player or smartphone Compatible with Yamaha Apps for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch Super Articulation Voices (SA) add genuine performance attributes of the real musical instruments Mic input lets you or another person sing along with your playing or with the library of Karaoke songs We’ll also give you complete peace of mind, thanks to our 5-year warranty, and our friendly team will deliver and install your piano for you at your convenience, so you can start playing straight away. Have an entire ensemble in your living room The defining feature of the CVP701 has to be its extensive range of Styles, controlled in real time by simply playing a chord. Accompaniment Styles introduces a selection of ‘virtual’ musicians to make your practice sessions more authentic, richer and more rewarding. This makes the CVP701 not just a great home instrument, but an excellent studio piano too. Yamaha CVP701 Digital Piano Polished Ebony The Yamaha CVP701 is a remarkable breakthrough in digital instruments. Every note, every tactile sensation and every response has been perfectly co-ordinated to mimic the action of a grand. And how have they done it? Well, it’s all thanks to Yamaha’s experience in creating premium quality instruments for over a century, and their expertise as one of the world’s electronic giants. Combine the two and you have a digital piano that blends all the very best features together, packed perfectly into a compact, affordable home-use instrument. A digital piano with the heart of a grand The CVP701 is a digital instrument, but unlike others it has the true heart of a grand. This is achieved by two key elements – its unique voice and the Real Grand Expression technology developed exclusively by Yamaha. The voice comes from the perfect blending of two perfect samples, one of the mighty Bosendorfer Imperial concert grand – a piano with a powerful reputation – and the other of Yamaha’s very own CFX grand, a piano widely regarded as one of the best concert instruments in the world. Perfectly tuned by an expert and then played by award-winning virtuoso musicians, each note is sampled to create a soundscape that has all the richness, depth and versatility of the two grands combined. And thanks to the fact that this is then transported into a digital instrument, your CVP701 will never go out of tune. So every single note is pitch perfect, every time you press a key. A beginner-friendly piano The Yamaha CVP701 has been specifically designed to be a versatile, user-friendly instrument that’s intuitive to operate, easy to play and gives you all the encouragement you need to truly excel at playing. It’s also very accommodating if you’re just starting your musical journey, with a ‘follow-the-light’ format that guides you gently through each of the 303 lessons packed into its library. And if you make a mistake don’t worry – the piano will wait for you to make the right move, thanks to the unique Guide feature. You’ll also get a full orchestral backing to embellish your playing, so you get more out of every session right from the start. A multitude of different styles Jazz to Latin, pop to classical – whatever your preference the CVP701 has a style to match. Locked away in its library is a selection of different styles that can be accessed simply by playing a chord on the keyboard. These accompaniment styles introduce you to the finer points of playing in an ensemble by creating virtual musicians who accompany you as you play. You’re in control with every note, and you can choose from a small Jazz combo to a full orchestra, depending on your mood. By adding authentic, studio-quality backing players to your practice sessions, you can get a real feel for playing with other musicians, rather than carrying on valiantly alone at home! A great choice of extras As well as all these special features, the CVP701 is packed with other extras, including: A selection of vintage electric piano voices Session Mode lets you play with three virtual session musicians Practice and perform in 40 available musical styles Dynamics Control automatically follows your harmonies and volume expression, ensuring a balanced sound in both the bass and treble registers Auxiliary input for connection of your MP3 player or smartphone Compatible with Yamaha Apps for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch Super Articulation Voices (SA) add genuine performance attributes of the real musical instruments Mic input lets you or another person sing along with your playing or with the library of Karaoke songs We’ll also give you five year’s total peace of mind with our comprehensive warranty that covers parts and labour, and our specialist team will deliver and install your piano to your home, so you can start playing straight away. A truly tactile playing experience To achieve a true grand experience, you need to not only play every note, but truly feel the instrument. The tactile experience of playing is just as important as hitting all the right notes in the right order! So to enhance your playing Yamaha have developed the GH3X (Graded Hammer 3X) keyboard – a superb, 88-key design that has the same escapement and action as a real grand. Synthetic ivory keytops complete not just the look but the feel of the keyboard too, giving you an authentic playing experience. All of this (and more) is packed into an upright piano finished in stunning polished ebony, making it one of the best home use digital pianos on the market. Starting with the Yamaha CFX - this is a powerful instrument with a strong bass register and delicate high notes. As a contrast, the Bosendorfer Imperial piano voice is delicate and slightly more mellow than the CFX voice. These two piano sounds give the player two World-class instruments at their fingertips - both suited to different styles of music and tastes. In addition to these two 'core' piano sounds, there are a huge number of other piano voices ideally suited to classical, pop, jazz, ballads, ragtime and even Latin American music. GrandTouch Keyboard Action Equally as important as the 'sound', is the touch of a piano. The CVP805 is fitted with an 88 key linear graded hammer Yamaha's GrandFeel keyboard action. This keyboard has wooden keys (white only), synthetic ebony and ivory key tops, and simulated escapement mechanism. The keytouch sensitivity can be adjusted for different players. When combined with the excellent piano voices, the GrandTouch keyboard enables a really expressive performance. Three Assignable Pedals The CVP805 has three pedals - just the same as an acoustic piano. In their standard mode, these pedals offer Sustain, Soft and Sostenuto functions, but is it also possible to re-assign these to perform other convenient functions such as Sustain, Sostenuto, Soft, Glide, Song Play/Pause, Style Start/Stop, Volume, etc. Familiar Touchscreen Operating System Navigating your way around the CVP805 is made easy with the implementation of a 7-inch TFT Colour LCD touchscreen. The home screen can be customised to show your favourite 'shortcuts' to the functions you use on a regular basis, as well as being able to display lyrics and musical scores in excellent definition. Huge Range Of On-Board Sounds The CVP805 is more than just a piano. In fact, the CVP805 has 1315 onboard voices (plus 49 drum kits and 480 XG voices). This means you have everything you need to create complex multi-track compositions, or for mixing voices together when playing with the backing styles to make the biggest big-band arrangements! Every instrument category has a wide range of voice options available, including Organ, Orchestral Strings, Choir, Synthesizer, Woodwind, Brass, World/Ethnic, Guitars, and of course other keyboard instruments such as e.piano, clav and harpsichords. Studio Quality Digital Effects High quality digital effects are onboard the CVP805 to give your sound that professional edge. Multiple effects can be applied to different voices at the same time, meaning you can add a little chorus to your electric piano voice, whilst the guitars in the backing styles are being pushed through a simulated stomp-box distortion effect. In total there are 65 preset reverbs, 106 chorus/modulation effects, 322 Insert effects, 322 variation effects, 54 vocal harmony presets, plus compressors and EQ's. Yamaha haven't cut back in when loading the CVP805 with effects! Accompaniment Styles Pianos with auto accompaniment features have been available for more than 30 years, but all preconceptions should be forgotten before listening to the latest generation instruments. The quality and realism of the backing band which is provided by the CVP805 is the best you'll hear. Using technology derived from Yamaha's Genos flagship workstation keyboard, the CVP805 provides 525 preset musical styles covering genres such as pop, dance, big band, jazz, latin, country, orchestral, films & shows, world music and more. There are multiple selections of each music genre and if you need to add more styles, there are thousands available to download from the Yamaha MusicSoft website (additional charges). Each on-board musical style has four variations, three intros and endings, plus multiple drum fills & breaks. Controlling the styles is easy from the front panel buttons, and there are multiple chord scanning options for different playing styles (Single Finger, Fingered, Fingered On Bass, Multi Finger, AI Fingered, Full Keyboard, AI Full Keyboard). Playalong With Song Backing Tracks In addition to the auto accompaniment styles mentioned above (which follow your playing using chords), the CVP805 has a powerful song player/recorder. There are 100 preset songs built in which allow you to mute the piano parts so you can pay along to a professional backing track. More song titles are available to purchase from YamahaMusicsoft website. There are also 303 'Lesson Songs' of varying difficulties available in the instrument. These can be used in conjunction with the 'follow the lights' feature so that even beginner pianists can have fun with the CVP805 straight away! Record Your Own Songs & Compositions The CVP805 has an on-board 16 track recorder. This means you can build up your own complex compositions using multiple voices at the same time, or, it could be simply used to record a single piano performance. Yamaha CVP809PWH (Polished White) Digital Piano The CVP809 is the top of the range 'all in one' digital piano on the market today, featuring the best piano sounds, the best piano touch, the best other voices, recording facilities and Yamaha's best speaker system. This particular version is the CVP809 'PWH' model which is in the elegant high gloss shiny white cabinet finish. Back in 1983, Yamaha launched the very first CVP series digital pianos. 'CVP' stands for Clavinova Versatile Piano and this brand range has become the number one instrument for pianists and keyboard players who want an instrument which brings together the very best of everything in one package. In fact, other manufacturers such as Roland, Kawai and Technics have in recent years abandoned the manufacture and distribution of competitive products because the Yamaha CVP range has proven to be such a popular and powerful product range. I have been playing Yamaha CVP instruments for over 30 years and the new CVP809 is by far the very best 'all in one' piano I have ever experienced. The CVP809 just makes you want to keep playing and provides plenty of inspiration whether you are playing for fun, or composing. The CVP809 is the flagship instrument in the new range - read on to find out what makes this piano so very special... It All Starts With The Piano Voices As soon as you sit down and play the CVP809, you will be captivated by the quality of the piano voices. Yamaha have included the sound of two World-Class concert grand pianos - the CFX and the Bosendorfer Imperial. Both instruments excel for different musical styles. The CFX is a powerful piano sound which works well for classical masterpieces as well as popular and jazz music. The Bosendorfer Imperial is an European piano sound which has a beautiful delicate tone and suited to light classics and ballads. Yamaha has also included their popular sound of the C7 Grand Piano which is a favourite go-to instrument for jazz and contemporary pianists across the World. Authentic Piano Keyboard Touch The CVP809 is equipped with the Yamaha GrandTouch keyboard action. There is a famous quote which states "You don't make music with instruments. You make music with emotions. Instruments just allow you to get your point across." In order for the performer to be at one with their piano, the keyboard action must be able to translate their emotions into the music they hear. The Yamaha GrandTouch offers one of the most authentic piano keyboard actions found in a digital piano and along with the extremely high quality piano voices, it is an absolute joy to play.
