Yamaha P45 portable piano packages from Bonners Music. If you're looking for a great sounding, stylish, lightweight piano for home practice, the Yamaha P45 fits the bill perfectly. The P45 has a really nice weighted keyboard action and it's the same length as a traditional acoustic piano (88 notes) so you don't need to worry about running out of space for even the most complex of piano pieces!
We offer different packages to suit the needs of both home and musicians on the move. If you're buying apiano for the first time, we encourage you to give one of our piano specialist staff a call on 01323 639335 to help you choose the right instrument and accessory package for your needs.
Authentic Acoustic Piano Keyboard Feel
The Yamaha P45 features the Graded hammer Standard (GhS) keyboard action with matte black keytops and gives the feel of an acoustic piano. The sensitivity of the keyboard is adjustable between hard, Medium & Soft. There is also a 'Fixed' setting for use with the organ voices.
lightweight Portable Piano
Weighing in at just 11.5kg (25 lbs. 6 oz), the Yamaha P45 is one of the lightest portable pianos on the market and is ideal for use as a practice instrument at home, or to take to rehearsals, church or even small gigs. The P45 measures just 1,326(l) x 295(w) x 154(h) mm (52-3/16' x 11-5/8' x 6-1/16').
Choice Of Useful Voices
There is a choice of 10 sounds including two grand piano variations, as well as two electric pianos, two harpsichords, two classical organs, vibraphone & strings. It is easy to select the voices by holding down the [GRAND PIANO/FUNCTION] button and pressing the corresponding key on the keyboard to choose the instrument required.
layered Voices & Duo Modes
Sounds can be layered together (by selecting two at the same time) for popular combinations such as PIANO/STRINGS, and there is a 'duo mode' which allows one person to play the left section of the keyboard while the other plays the right. Sounds played with the left voice are played from the left speaker, and sounds played with the right voice are played from the right speaker. Ideal for teacher/pupil scenarios.
Built-In Speaker System
Stereo 6w + 6w amplifiers drive 2 x 12cm speakers for a full-bodied sound that is very impressive from such a compact piano keyboard.
The P45 has a headphone output which can be used for silent practice without disturbing others in the household. When headphones are connected, the internal speakers are set to 'silent' mode.
A footswitch is included for connection to the [SUSTAIN] jack. This works in the same way as a damper pedal on an acoustic piano. The optional Yamaha FC3A foot pedal can be connected to the P45 to give an authentic grand piano experience because the FC3A lets you use the half Pedal function (the included plastic footswitch does not allow you to access this function).
Reverb Effect For Ambience
The built-in adjustable reverb effect adds ambience to the sounds you hear. There are several types of reverb available, and although the instrument selects the appropriate effect for each of the voices, it is possible for you to change the reverb type as desired.
The 'room' reverb adds a continuous natural reverb effect to the sound whereas 'hall1' simulates the natural reverberation of a small-size concert hall. The 'hall2' option gives a truly spacious reverb sound and simulates the natural reverberation of a large concert hall. 'Stage' reverb simulates the ambience of a stage environment. It is also possible to switch off the reverb effect, which is useful for using the P45 in recording environments.
Practice Using The Built-In Metronome
holding down [GRAND PIANO/ FUNCTION], and press the E3 key to activate the Metronome. The tempo can be adjusted from 32 to 280 beats per minute, and a bell sound can be used to accent the first beat of the bar - just like a traditional 'tick tock' pyramid metronome! The metronome volume can also be adjusted.
You can shift the pitch of the entire keyboard up or down in semitone in order to facilitate playing in difficult key signatures, or to easily match the pitch of the keyboard to the range of a singer or other instruments. For example, if '+5' is selected, playing key C produces pitch F, letting you play a song of F major as though it were in C major.
Connect To Computer, iPad or iPhone
With an iPad or iPhone connected to your Yamaha P45 piano, you can use a wide range of apps to expand the functionality of your instrument in exciting new ways. For details on how to connect the devices, refer to the Yamaha 'iPhone/iPad Connection Manual,' which can be downloaded for free from the Yamaha web site.
There is a USB to hOST connection for direct MIDI communication with a PC/MAC computer. This means the P45 is compatible with the thousands of music software titles available including scoring software such as Sibelius, and composition tools including Steinberg's Cubase, Apple's logic and other professional recording utilities.
Auto Power-Off Function
To prevent unnecessary power consumption, this function automatically turns the power off if no buttons or keys are operated for approximately 30 minutes. If desired, you can disable or enable this function.
