Kawai CA79 Digital Piano Polished Ebony
The Kawai CA79 introduces the improved Grand Feel III keyboard action, as well as enhanced SK-EX piano sound engine. The CA79 shares some of the most important features of Kawai's flagship model in a more compact two-piece cabinet design which is suitable for placement in modern homes and upstairs locations.
"The CA79 represents one of the best features vs price instruments on the market. The long wooden keys with balance pins result in one of the most authentic keyboard actions available (with the exception of the much more expensive hybrid pianos). The user interface improvements are a welcome addition and Android/iOS compatibility makes this a really desirable instrument."
See & Play The Kawai CA79 Digital Piano In Our Stores
When choosing a new piano, there's nothing better than getting your hands on various instruments to ensure you're making the right choice. We keep the Kawai CA79 Digital Piano on display in all three of our specialist piano stores, along with other models from top manufacturers. This means you can compare the sound and feel of a variety of instruments all under one roof. We have showrooms in Reigate (just off Jct 8 of the M25) , Milton Keynes and also on the South Coast in Eastbourne BN21 3JN. All three of our piano shops have parking on-site.
Free Delivery & In-Home Assembly
The Kawai CA79 is delivered to you by our own piano delivery experts, who fully assemble and install your new piano for you. This service is free of charge for the CA79 (available for England addresses only). We specify a delivery time, fully assemble the piano, and take away all the boxes & packaging.
Upstairs Delivery
The CA79 is packaged in flat-pack form so it is easy for our delivery team to bring it upstairs if required (don't worry - we assemble it for you!). Upstairs delivery is free of charge unless we require additional manpower to carry the instrument upstairs. The price shown includes us sending two able-bodied people to deliver your piano which is sufficient in the vast majority of cases. The KAWAI CA79 usually fits in most passenger lifts when boxed.
Part Exchange Your Piano
Do you already own a piano or keyboard that you would like to trade-in for a new Kawai CA79? Email us details of what you have to partex@bonners.co.uk and we will email you back a part exchange price immediately. We take both digital and acoustic pianos in part-exchange and can arrange the collection of your instrument at the same time as delivery of a new CA79 to your home.
Realistic Piano Keyboard Action
The CA79 is fitted with Kawai's new Grand Feel III wooden-key keyboard. Long keys with a balance pin create the closest feel you'll find to an acoustic piano, apart from the much more expensive Kawai Novus hybrid models. Both playing experience and reliability have been improved over the previous Grand Feel keyboard models.
White keys have a textured synthetic ivory feel, and the black keys are made of synthetic ebony. Weighted hammers, let-off (escapement) mechanism, and counterweights add to the authenticity of the playing experience, whilst the triple sensors capture every nuance of your performance.
The overall 'feel' of the CA79 keyboard is faster, firmer, and 'less spongy' than it's predecessor due to the revised hammer cushion structure.
Kawai's best-ever Piano Sounds
The core piano voice found in the CA79 is that of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX Concert Grand piano - an instrument found in the stages of concert halls all around the World. The CA79's SK-EX voice features multi-channel sampling and resonance modelling. The Virtual Technician function lets you create your own unique piano voices by adjusting parameters such as voicing, resonance depth, key-off effect, hammer noise, top board, key volume, and more. In fact, there are a total of up to 21 parameters available to edit, including release time which simulates the sound of different sized grand pianos.
Three Pedals - just like a grand piano!
The CA79 features three metal pedals - sustain, soft, and sostenuto. The sustain and soft pedals offer half-pedalling, and all pedals can be re-assigned to different functions through the instrument's operating system.
Premium Audio System by Onkyo
Kawai has teamed up with Japanese premium audio manufacturer Onkyo to incorporate one of the best sound systems available in a digital piano. The best audio components have been used, including 1-bit processing, premium dual DAC's, DIDRC filtering, premium power amplifiers, and a premium headphone amp to ensure that the CA79 playing experience is the very best possible.
New premium-quality speaker units are placed in the top part of the instrument for mid-range frequencies, whilst front tweeters ensure high-range clarity is experienced by the performer. Low range frequencies are handled by the two bottom located speakers.
Speaker diffusers are fitted above the top speakers to expand the tonal projection. This creates a 360 degree sound field and ensures that a natural sound is heard no matter where in the room you are listening to the piano.
Familiar Touchscreen Interface
In keeping with modern technology, the CA79 is equipped with a 5" touchscreen with a simplified user interface. There are three main screens - piano voices, 'other' vices and 'music'. All acoustic piano sounds can be selected through the piano voice list, whilst other sounds such as e.piano, harpsichord, organ, strings, and many more can be selected in the sound menu.
The CA79 is loaded with hundreds of songs, exercises, and popular classical pieces for you to play along, use for practice purposes, or simply listen to for pleasure.
Support for Android and iOS devices means the CA79 can be wirelessly controlled from Kawai's dedicated app which brings all operations and functions to the larger screen of your tablet device.
Bluetooth MIDI and Audio with aptX support
Bluetooth audio functionality allows you to stream music from other devices through the CA79's premium audio system. Furthermore, Bluetooth on the CA79 supports aptX which offers less latency and higher audio quality.
Bluetooth MIDI support means you can connect your computer or tablet device to the CA79 for external recording applications or the creation of printed scores using software such as Sibelius - all completely wirelessly.
