All 88 keys have been sampled individually for the most accurate representation of these exquisite instruments.
Sonic Palette Stereophonic Optimizer
There are 20 sounds pre-installed to the Yamaha C3X SH2, including a variety of electric pianos, strings, and organs. To make these voices feel and sound more authentic and natural, the stereophonic optimizer reproduces the natural sound distance, making you forget you are wearing headphones and preventing your ears from getting tired after a long practice session.
The default CFX sound uses Binaural technology when wearing headphones. Specialised microphones placed in the players ears position capture nuances and locational information usually only picked up by the human ear. You truly forget you are wearing headphones when playing with the CFX sound and can practice for much longer periods of time than with standard stereo headphone sampling.
Virtual Resonance Modelling
One thing many players miss the most when playing a digital instrument are the pianos natural resonance. A grand piano has several areas where sound travels and reverberates, such as the solid spruce soundboard, and even the outer rims of the instrument. Each time you play an acoustic piano, a limitless amount of different resonances and overtones are captured. Yamaha have recreated this in the C3X SH2, thanks to their enhanced Virtual Resonance Modelling. Every element of the acoustic instrument is captured, from the timing of the keys being pressed, to the dampers lifting from the strings and the pedals being pressed. This is captured in great detail across all 88 keys. The result is an authentic and immersive playing experience, filled with expression.
Unique Yamaha Technology
To further enhance the realistic playing experience when using the C3X SH2 Silent features, Yamahas Smooth Release technology understands the way your finger releases the key, responding to smoother legato playing as well as shorter staccato notes. Key-off samples are actual recordings that capture the subtle changes as the finger is completely lifted away from the key, as the damper felt returns to rest on the string. Sensors under each key detect continuous movement, without affecting the feel of the piano. Infinite levels of expression are therefore possible, in the same way you would expect on a standard acoustic instrument. Similar non-contact Hammer sensors work in the same way to allow both slow and rapid keystrokes, and rapid trills that would not be possible on typical digital pianos. Yamahas Quick Escape System means that, when in silent mode, the hammers and strings are the ideal distance apart, so the quality of touch isnt sacrificed as with other silent models.
If you want to play along to backing tracks or songs stored on your mobile device, you can now stream wirelessly via Bluetooth with the Yamaha C3X SH2 system when using headphones.
Smart Pianist App
Smart Pianist is Yamahas own free app, which enables the player to control functions such as selecting voices or editing the metronome settings, as well as playing along to scores displayed on the Smart Device. The UD-WL01 USB Wireless LAN Adaptor (sold separately) is required to use Smart Pianist over a wireless connection.

As well as being able to record directly to the built-in recorder on the piano, and listen back to your performance immediately, you can also record high quality audio to a USB memory stick (not included). The headphones included with the Yamaha C3X SH2 are open structured meaning they produce an excellent quality of sound, while also minimizing the strain that can be caused by long hours of headphone playing.
The built-in metronome enables the player to practice and listen to precise rhythm while playing. This, along with other features, is accessed most easily via Yamahas Smart Pianist app.
How does Yamaha SH2 silent system differ to the cheaper Yamaha SC2 Silent system?

Pay a fixed deposit, depending on the price of the purchase. The rest is split into monthly payments up to three years. At the end of your contract when you've made your final payment, the instrument or equipment is all yours. You could own that dream guitar, drum kit or piano sooner than you thought!
Finance is available for selected new and used instruments.
Which Finance Options Are Available?
Most products on our website show the available finance options. Some are interest free, and some are interest bearing. All finance is subject to acceptance by our finance provider and a credit check will be carried out on the applicant.

We offer our customers the ability to apply for simple finance facilities to fund a purchase from us. Once you are accepted by V12 Retail Finance you will be asked to eSign the credit agreement and once in receipt of your purchase, v12 will make your agreement live and your monthly repayments will commence for the agreed term. In short retail finance gives you the flexibility to buy what you really want now, not just what you can afford today by spreading the cost of your purchase over a repayment period that suits your budget.
You must: Be at least 18 years of age Have been a UK resident for 3 years or more Be able to make repayments by direct debit Be in regular employment* (minimum of 16 hours per week) including self-employment, or in permanent residence with your spouse/partner who is in regular employment *If you are retired and receive a pension or registered disabled and unable to work, V12 Retail Finance may ask for proof of sufficient income.
During the loan application process you will be asked for your personal information such as name, 3 year address history, date of birth, email and telephone contact details and employment/income information. If you are accepted you will also need a credit or debit card registered to you at your address on the credit application so that the lender can carry out an electronic identity check.
With most applications we expect that you will be given an acceptance or decline decision within 10-20 seconds. In some cases the lender may return the decision as ‘referred’. You will then receive an email with further instructions once the underwriters have made a decision. For in store applications you can usually wait in the shop whilst the underwriters review your application. Underwriting hours are between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank holidays), 9am and 6pm on Saturday, and 10am and 5pm on Sunday. If your application is referred outside of these hours then you may have to wait until the next working day for the decision.
For finance orders made online or via mail order we are only able to deliver the goods to the address on your credit agreement (your home address). You will not be able to have the goods shipped to another address or collect the goods from us in person.
Returns & Cancellation Procedure
If you wish to return the order then please refer to our returns policy. If we accept your return we will contact the lender to cancel the credit agreement. We may not able to cancel the finance if the return falls outside of our returns period.
Declined Credit Applications
You will be informed of the decision if the lender declines your application, the lender in unable to share the reason for decline with us. Applications are usually declined for reasons such as:
You do not meet the eligibility criteria (see above);
- adverse credit reference agency information;
- your credit score;
- you are considered to be overcommitted;
- or your existing account performance with other lenders.
The lender will give you the contact details for the credit reference agency used. They will also give you information on how to appeal the decision if you wish to discuss the matter. Please note that the lender is unable to discuss this over the telephone due to Data Protection rules. You should also note that each lender applies its own credit score to applicants so if you have recently been accepted for credit elsewhere this does not necessarily mean that appealing the decision on this basis alone will result in a change of decision.

Products which are shown as in stock will be sent within 2 working days from when payment is received. This excludes larger items such as acoustic pianos or digital pianos which are being supplied with full installation. Please contact us for delivery information regarding larger items.
Products which are shown as available to order usually take 5-7 working days to despatch, but we will confirm then when the order is received. If an item will not be delivered to you within 5 working days we will contact you to let you know, and ensure that it is shipped the next working day after it has arrived at our premises.
Orders placed using our finance options may take longer than the delivery times quoted above because we cannot despatch goods until the signed finance documents and relevant identification has been returned to us. Where we ship to
Presently, we offer online ordering and shipping to the UK only. Shipping rates may vary between areas and we do not offer online ordering to the Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands and other International locations. A surcharge may be payable for Isle Of Wight, Northern Ireland, and other off-shore UK addresses.
How We Send Your Packages To You
The shipping method we use is determined by the size & nature of the goods being purchased. Sometimes you will have the choice of different shipping methods. These will be offered to you at the checkout stage of ordering.For most items, someone will need to be present at the delivery address to sign for the goods. For pianos and some larger items, we will contact you prior to delivery to arrange a convenient day. We are not able to be specific about the delivery time. Deliveries are made between 8.30am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
No-one at home?
Our courier will try and deliver your parcel(s) twice. After the second failed attempt, your goods will be returned to our warehouse. If you would like us to try and deliver them again, we will charge the delivery charges associated with your order again. You may also choose to collect your parcels from our retail store.
Digital Piano Deliveries For Self-Assembly
If you choose our courier delivery/flat pack delivery method, please be aware that with larger items such as digital pianos, the courier is not contracted to carry them up any steps or stairs. If there are stairs leading to the front door of the delivery address, or you live in an apartment which is not on pavement level, it is your responsibility to arrange transportation from the pavement level to the delivery address. In this instance, the delivery driver may, at their own discretion assist you in carrying the parcels to the delivery address, but they are not contracted nor obliged to do so.
Do you need delivery upstairs, or delivery at a specific time?
For some larger items which need to be delivered upstairs - including pianos, we offer a timed delivery service using our own van and drivers. This service is free on some items and chargeable on others. Call us on 01323 639335 to discuss your specific delivery requirements.
Delivery Surcharges For Larger Items
For some larger items, delivery surcharges may apply to the following areas: Scotland, Wales, Channel Islands, Isle Of wight, Cornwall, Ireland, North Of England above Leeds. Call us on 01323 639335 to check before ordering.
All new products purchased from Bonners are covered by a minimum 12-month return to base (RTB) warranty unless otherwise stated on your receipt.
Cabinet style digital pianos and acoustic pianos are covered by our on-site warranty. The applicable warranty period is shown on your receipt. Return to base means that the goods must be returned to us under the terms of the warranty. We do not pay for transport of RTB items to our premises for repair. We can collect your items - see collection charges below.
Self Assembly Items With Faults On Arrival
Please do not dispose of boxes and packaging for items which require self-assembly until you have thoroughly checked and tested the product. In the unlikely event that a self-assembly item arrives with a fault, we will it replace it free of charge if it is re-packaged for safe transportation in the cartons in which it was supplied. If you dispose of the packaging, we will charge for collection as per our collection charges stated at the bottom of this page.
If there's a fault with the product...
If at any time within this warranty period, the equipment fails, in the first instance call us on 01323 639335 where one of our advisers will try and help you rectify the fault over the telephone.
If your item fails within 30 days of receipt, and is not due to mis-use or other reason excluded from the normal warranty, we'll give you a replacement or, if that's not possible, a refund.
After the 30 day period, we will arrange a suitable repair of the item or, if that's not possible, give you a replacement, or if that's not possible, a refund.
On-site warranties only apply to larger digital pianos and acoustic pianos. It is the buyer's responsibility to return all other items to our store for repair. We charge for collection of faulty items. Charges vary depending upon location and size/weight of the product being collected.
Consumables such as (but not limited to) guitar strings and reeds are not covered by the warranty. Accidental damage or misuse of the item are not covered by the warranty.
If You Made The Purchase From Home....
All home order returns must be authorised in advance by calling 01323 639335. If we decide that your item needs to be returned to us, we will issue you with a returns authorisation number. This number must be displayed clearly on the outside of any returns sent to us.
We charge for collection of items which appear to have a fault - but this charge will be refunded to you once we receive the item and have confirmed that a fault exists.
If You Change Your Mind...
Goods Purchased In-Store
Within 7 days of purchase, we are happy to exchange or give you a refund with vouchers for any item you purchase. Just return the item to our store, unused, in its original undamaged packaging, along with the receipt and we'll be happy to exchange the item for something more suitable, or give you a refund in Bonners vouchers. We do not give cash refunds in cases of 'change of mind' for goods purchased in-store.
Goods Purchased From Home
Following The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations, we will accept items back even if you have opened the goods to inspect them. You are entitled to a refund as long as you inform us of your decision to cancel within 14 calendar days from the day after delivery of the goods. The goods must be in an ‘as new’ condition and returned in the original, undamaged packaging, along with any accessories and free gifts received with them. You can examine the goods as you would in a shop but you must not have used or installed them or input any data on them. Whilst the goods are in your possession you must take reasonable care of them. Enclosed DVDs, CDs, memory cards and software packaging discs must still be sealed. We do not accept return of goods that have ben damaged or mis-handled whlst in your care
There are three ways to refund/cancel your purchase:
- You can return the product to our store with your receipt, bringing the card you paid with so we can credit it. When returning opened products to us, you should do so without undue delay and, in any event, not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate to us your decision to cancel.
- You can cancel your order via the Contact Us facility on the Customer Services page
- By phoning us on 01323 639335 with your order reference number and delivery details to hand
Once we have received the goods back from you, and after inspection of their condition, we will give you a refund for the cost of the product plus the delivery charge paid when you purchased the item(s) (except for the additional costs arising if you selected a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us). If you have changed your mind and no longer wish to keep the item(s), we do not refund the cost of returning the item(s) to us.
We may make a deduction from the refund for any loss in value of the goods if the loss is a result of any unnecessary handling by you. If you have requested we begin the performance of any service, such as installation of a product, within the 14 day cancellation period we have the right to retain any charge paid for services which have already begun or been completed. Refunds take 7-10 working days to be credited to your payment card.
We cannot refund/cancel your purchase:
- The goods have been damaged whilst in your care.
- If you return your product to our store without proof of purchase
- The seal has been broken on any included DVDs, CDs, memory cards or software
- The goods were a special order to your specification
In All Cases....
We do not accept returns of software, music books, CD's, DVD's, or consumables, unless found to be faulty in which case a replacement product of the same title will be supplied.
We also do not accept returns of goods which have been made to your specifications or have been personalised. We may also refuse to accept the return of any item which has been mis-used.
Our warranty, returns & refunds policies do not affect your statutory rights.
If you need your product collected from a UK mainland address because you have changed your mind, or have disposed of the packaging of a self-assembly product, or if it requires attention under a return-to-base (RTB) warranty, the following charges will apply:
Note: We do not collect items that are not in their original box and packaging, except for digital pianos. It is up to you to ensure your item is packaged safely for transportation and we do not accept liability for goods damaged in transit due to being incorrectly packed before collection by our courier/driver
Our collection charges may differ from any delivery charges you may have paid at the time of purchase. This is because we offer subsidised delivery costs at the time of sale. Weights referred to below are the gross weight including packaging.

Part Exchange Returns
If you part exchanged an instrument towards the item you are returning, we will refund you the monies paid and, if we still have posession of your part exchanged item, you will need to arrange collection from one of our stores, or pay a delivery charge for the item to be returned to you. Delivery charges for return of part exchanged items will depend upon the individual item and quotes are available on request.
In the event that we have bno longer have possession of your part exchanged item, we will refund you the monies paid plusthe value given for your part exchange item - as shown on your sales receipt.
