Part Exchange Your Existing Instrument
Do you already own a piano or keyboard that you would like to trade-in for a new Yamaha CSP170? Email us details of what you have to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will email you back a part exchange valuation immediately.
It All Begins With An Authentic Piano Sound & Touch
The CSP170 is fitted with Yamaha’s NWX (Natural Wood X) keyboard with synthetic ebony and ivory keytops, escapement to enable exceptional expression in piano performances. There are two main choices of piano sounds available in the CSP170 - the mighty Yamaha CFX concert grand, and the Bösendorfer Imperial. Both of these piano tones work well for different styles of music - the CFX is a bright and powerful sound with exquisite top register, whilst the Bösendorfer Imperial is renowned for being more delicate and perfect for romantic classical pieces.
Three Pedals - Just Like An Acoustic Grand Piano
The CSP170 has three pedals which behave just like those found on a traditional grand piano - sustain, soft and sostenuto. When the additional features are being controlled through your tablet device, the pedals can be assigned to different functions such as start/stop, glide, expression and more!
Display & Control Digital Music Scores On Your Device
When playing along to backing tracks and midi files etc on the CSP170, it is possible to display the printed music score on the screen of your connected tablet device. Lyrics and chord symbols can also be shown.
When a set of headphones is connected to one of the headphone out jacks, the sound of the CSP170’s speaker system is muted and can only be heard by the person wearing the headphones. This means that piano practice can be done without disturbing other members of the household. There are two headphone sockets for teacher/pupil scenarios or for duet performances. The headphone output is further enhanced by the implementation of Yamaha’s binaural sampling technology on the CFX piano sound. This technology gives the impression of surround sound through the headphones in order to give a realistic experience whether through the internal speaker system, of when practicing using headphones.
Plenty Of Voices - In fact there’s 692 of them!
If you like to play more than just piano sounds, then the CP170 is the piano for you! Featuring 692 high quality Voices covering all genres of musical instrument, and even synthesizer sounds too. There are also 29 Drum and sound effects Kits available to complete the band! These voices are put to good use when playing along with the huge range of songs you can download from Yamaha’s online services, or they can be used for you to create your own multitrack arrangements using the 16 track recording feature.
Microphone Input With Vocal Harmony
The CSP170 is so much more than just a piano, yet you wouldn’t know it when looking at teh simple, elegant front panel. There is a dedicated microphone input for when you want to sing along, and lyrics can be displayed on the screen of a connected tablet computer. The vocal harmony processor adds realistic multi-part harmonies to the main vocal, and digital effects such as reverb and delay can be applied to the microphone to give that ‘professional’, polished sound.
Record Your Performance!
Record your performance on the CSP170 either using the 16 track MIDI recorder for complex multi-part arrangements, or record to a WAC or AAC format high quality audio file so you can share your own music with your friends or across the internet.
If you’re learning to play, then the CSP170 is your ideal piano teacher! You don’t need to be a pro to play the Clavinova CSP-170 digital piano. There are over 400 songs built-in to the CSP170 for you to play along with. The CSP170 can also scan the songs in your smart device’s library to produce a chord chart and piano score, and will even show you what keys to play and when with the intuitive Stream Lights feature.
Similar to the backing track features found in Yamaha’s popular CVP Clavinova range of pianos, the CSP170 is loaded with 470 high quality backing styles. Playalong using full piano keyboard mode, or split the keyboard for playing using Fingered or Single-Finger chords. It’s like having a complete backing band in your piano - and there are thousands more styles to download from Yamaha’s Musicsoft website.
Huge Sound Output!
The sound of the CSP170 is delivered through two 90watt amplifiers, driving four speakers. Even at lower volume levels, the sound of the CSP170 is rich and vibrant.

Start owning the musical instrument you want now, today!
If you're set on buying your new instrument, there's no need to get weighed down by the total cost of it straight away. If you break it down into monthly payments over time, it's much more manageable than you might think. And our fixed interest rates mean you'll know exactly what you're paying from the start.
How To Apply For Finance
How it works
The finance options available are displayed on the individual product pages.
Pay a fixed deposit, depending on the price of the purchase. The rest is split into monthly payments up to three years. At the end of your contract when you've made your final payment, the instrument or equipment is all yours. You could own that dream guitar, drum kit or piano sooner than you thought!
Finance is available for selected new and used instruments.
Which Finance Options Are Available?
Most products on our website show the available finance options. Some are interest free, and some are interest bearing. The options shown on the site are an example of what is available - if you would like to pay over a different period, give us a call on 01323 639335 and we’ll try and arrange a finance option that suits your budget.
You can apply for finance online, or over the telephone - call us on 01323 639335 if you'd like to speak to one of our musical instrument experts.
All finance is subject to acceptance by our finance provider and a credit check will be carried out on the applicant.
Call 01323 639335 to discuss finance options in more detail.
We offer our customers the ability to apply for simple finance facilities to fund a purchase from us. Once you are accepted by V12 Retail Finance you will be asked to eSign the credit agreement and once in receipt of your purchase, v12 will make your agreement live and your monthly repayments will commence for the agreed term. In short retail finance gives you the flexibility to buy what you really want now, not just what you can afford today by spreading the cost of your purchase over a repayment period that suits your budget.
You must: Be at least 18 years of age Have been a UK resident for 3 years or more Be able to make repayments by direct debit Be in regular employment* (minimum of 16 hours per week) including self-employment, or in permanent residence with your spouse/partner who is in regular employment *If you are retired and receive a pension or registered disabled and unable to work, V12 Retail Finance may ask for proof of sufficient income.
During the loan application process you will be asked for your personal information such as name, 3 year address history, date of birth, email and telephone contact details and employment/income information. If you are accepted you will also need a credit or debit card registered to you at your address on the credit application so that the lender can carry out an electronic identity check.
With most applications we expect that you will be given an acceptance or decline decision within 10-20 seconds. In some cases the lender may return the decision as ‘referred’. You will then receive an email with further instructions once the underwriters have made a decision. For in store applications you can usually wait in the shop whilst the underwriters review your application. Underwriting hours are between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank holidays), 9am and 6pm on Saturday, and 10am and 5pm on Sunday. If your application is referred outside of these hours then you may have to wait until the next working day for the decision.
For finance orders made online or via mail order we are only able to deliver the goods to the address on your credit agreement (your home address). You will not be able to have the goods shipped to another address or collect the goods from us in person.
Returns & Cancellation Procedure
If you wish to return the order then please refer to our returns policy. If we accept your return we will contact the lender to cancel the credit agreement. We may not able to cancel the finance if the return falls outside of our returns period.
Declined Credit Applications
You will be informed of the decision if the lender declines your application, the lender in unable to share the reason for decline with us. Applications are usually declined for reasons such as:
You do not meet the eligibility criteria (see above);
- adverse credit reference agency information;
- your credit score;
- you are considered to be overcommitted;
- or your existing account performance with other lenders.
The lender will give you the contact details for the credit reference agency used. They will also give you information on how to appeal the decision if you wish to discuss the matter. Please note that the lender is unable to discuss this over the telephone due to Data Protection rules. You should also note that each lender applies its own credit score to applicants so if you have recently been accepted for credit elsewhere this does not necessarily mean that appealing the decision on this basis alone will result in a change of decision.
