Ampton designs are not static presets—they are the result of meticulous engineering, testing, and refinement, component by component. Based on Blackstar founder Bruce Keir’s original digital models of the iconic Series One valve amps, every element has been perfected over decades. Every tonal nuance is carefully considered, from cathode followers and preamp DC offsets to countless micro-interactions, delivering unmatched realism, tone, and feel.
The tone-stack models are fully accurate, preserving the authentic interactivity of the original valve circuits - far beyond what a simple “capture” can achieve. Power amp modelling goes even further, recreating the dynamic interplay between valves, transformers, and speakers to deliver a true amp-in-the-room experience, well beyond what mic’d IRs can offer.
This process combines rigorous technical analysis with hundreds of hours of critical listening and AB testing. Backed by decades of voicing expertise, the designers refine every subtle detail into elegant, ultra-low-latency algorithms, ensuring an exceptionally authentic and responsive playing experience.

The ID:X Floor Series delivers professional valve-amp tone, feel, and responsiveness in compact, pedalboard-ready digital modellers. Built on decades of Blackstar expertise, each unit features component-level amp modelling, dynamic DSP, and intuitive hands-on controls.
Floor One offers essential amp models for electric, bass and acoustic guitars as well as pre and post effects for streamlined versatility; Floor Two adds an integrated expression pedal for expressive, studio-quality tones; while Floor Three provides expanded patch/effects switching, advanced MIDI control, and an onboard effects loop for maximum flexibility. With over 35 effects, USB-C audio, XLR outputs, and headphone practice options, the series combines compact design with professional-grade tone and performance.
