The Skints are a London-based reggae-punk and reggae-fusion band, often described as “the torchbearers for modern British reggae music.” Formed in 2007 by a group of school friends, the band quickly developed a distinctive sound built on a vibrant blend of reggae, ska, dub, punk rock, dancehall, soul, hip-hop and even grime. This genre-crossing approach has earned them a devoted following not only across the UK but throughout Europe, North America and beyond.

Over the years, The Skints’ music has grown from its raw punk-ska roots into a more expansive “tropical punk” style, characterised by multiple vocalists and rich instrumental textures that include keyboards, saxophone, melodica and more. Their creative evolution and authentic musicianship reached a new milestone in 2019 with the release of Swimming Lessons, which debuted at number one on the Billboard reggae chart — a testament to the band’s international impact and enduring appeal.
