Sophisticated Sound for Professional Performers
Continuing the legacy of its predecessor, the Katana-Artist MkII is crafted with meticulous attention to detail for discerning professional musicians. The custom Waza speaker by BOSS delivers the quintessential vintage rock sound, while the cabinet’s broad baffle and semi-closed back design produce focused, punchy tones with rich bass and substantial midrange presence. Furthermore, each amp character of the Katana-Artist MkII has been expertly tailored for optimal performance with the speaker and cabinet.

Waza Speaker: Iconic Tone, Contemporary Power
The heart of the Katana-Artist MkII’s robust sound is the 12-inch Waza speaker, developed by BOSS to capture the broad dynamic range, smooth midrange, and rich harmonic overtones typical of the iconic 25-watt British stack speakers of the 1960s. Through meticulous analysis of the original speakers and careful selection of components like the magnet and cone material, the Waza speaker embodies the essence of this legendary speaker while enhancing its power capacity to 100 watts.

Enhanced Amp Characters and Effects
The Katana-Artist MkII incorporates the key updates from the Katana MkII series, offering variations across the five amp characters, which provide 10 distinct tonal options. With five simultaneous effects categories, your amp essentially houses the capabilities of a vast pedalboard. Connection to BOSS Tone Studio allows deeper customisation with over 60 different effect types, adjustable effect chains, and much more.

Advanced Tone-Shaping Tools
Exclusive to the Katana-Artist MkII, the front panel houses a three-way Contour switch to sculpt the core tone and three selectable Global EQ settings (adjustable via BOSS Tone Studio), perfect for adapting the sound to various guitars and styles. There’s also a foot-controllable post-amp Solo boost function with an easily accessible knob for quick adjustments.

Integrated Dual Amp Support
The Katana-Artist MkIIs can be effortlessly linked for expanded functionality. Using Dual Link, each amp can have its settings controlled by a single GA-FC foot controller to blend clean and distorted tones or set up wet/dry configurations. Stereo Expand allows one amp to act as the master and the other as the slave, distributing stereo-compatible effects like chorus, delay, and reverb across both amps for an enveloping sound field.

Full-Throttle Sound Every Time You Plug In
Powered by BOSS’s Tube Logic technology, the Katana-Artist MkII authentically replicates the output distortion characteristics of genuine tube amplifiers. As you increase the volume, the sound and responsiveness enrich. However, unlike traditional tube amps, our variable Power Control ensures you can maintain that 'sweet spot' volume without the repercussions of excessive loudness, allowing you to enjoy a powerful amp sound wherever you play.

One-Touch Recall of Custom Setups
With onboard Tone Setting memories, you can save your preferred amp character and effects configurations for instant access. Once you've fine-tuned a sound with the panel controls, simply save it with a quick button press. Eight Tone Settings are available, organized in two banks of four, with easy panel selection. For hands-free control during performances, connect external footswitches or the GA-FC foot controller.

Ready-to-Mix Direct Tones
The Line, USB, and phones/recording outputs include mic’d cabinet emulation, enabling you to send mix-ready amp tones directly to a PA system, computer DAW, or headphones. The direct sound can be further shaped with three different Air Feel settings, accessible via BOSS Tone Studio. Two-channel USB audio support allows for true stereo tracking with the Katana-Artist MkII’s modulation, EQ, delay, and reverb effects.

Compact Gig Commander
The optional GA-FC foot controller is an ideal companion for the Katana-Artist MkII—it connects with a single cable, requires no external power, and has a compact, durable design that occupies minimal space. You can activate Tone Settings with six footswitches and toggle the five effects sections. The GA-FC also supports external footswitches and expression pedals, with default and customisable assignments through BOSS Tone Studio for comprehensive pedal control.

BOSS Tone Studio Enhancements
BOSS Tone Studio has evolved alongside the Katana MkII amplifiers, featuring a refreshed interface and streamlined parameters on the main screen for a quicker workflow. A dedicated Pedal FX category simplifies assigning wah and pedal bend effects to a connected expression pedal. Plus, if you’re an owner of a first-gen Katana, you can import your custom patches and use them seamlessly with the Katana-Artist MkII.
