Three Iconic Sound Engines – Now More Powerful Than Ever
At the heart of the MODX M lies the Motion Control Synthesis Engine, which seamlessly integrates three powerhouse sound engines:
AN-X (Virtual Analog Synthesis): A brand-new engine inspired by Yamaha’s legendary 1990s AN series. AN-X authentically recreates the warmth, grit and behaviour of true analogue synthesis – from silky pads to biting leads – with parameters that add life and organic variation to every note.
FM-X (Frequency Modulation Synthesis): An eight-operator FM engine with 128-note polyphony. Create everything from classic ’80s DX sounds to futuristic digital textures with breathtaking dynamic range and fidelity.
AWM2 (Advanced Wave Memory): Yamaha’s sample-based synthesis engine provides ultra-realistic acoustic instruments and modern digital sounds, now with 10.7 GB of waveform capacity – almost double that of the previous MODX + – for richer, more detailed sound.
Together, these engines offer up to 268 notes of total polyphony and a virtually limitless sound design palette.
