Kawai CA401 Rosewood Digital Piano
Equipped with the acclaimed Grand Feel Compact keyboard, a new 'Competition Grand' piano voice, and Bluetooth Audio capability, the CA401 builds on the success of the popular CA49 piano. The CA401 is the perfect instrument for players who value the best wooden keyboard action combined with a high-quality piano voice. A simplistic control panel means that the focus of this instrument is all about performance and not technology. The CA401 is, however, compatible with the Kawai Piano Remote App for those who want to explore more advanced sound layering, editing and recording functions.
Three colour options are available: Satin Black, Satin White or Rosewood
New for 2023, the CA401 is an evolution of the very popular CA49 model. It has a new piano sound and Bluetooth Audio capability that was not present on the previous model, making it a very versatile instrument, that provides a fantastic wooden key action at a very attractive price.

If this isn't appropriate for you, read on for our upgraded delivery options and piano assembly service.
Wooden Key Keyboard Action
The keyboard touch is probably the most important factor to consider when purchasing a new piano. The keys form the connection between the player and the sound, and it is essential to purchase a piano with the best keyboard touch within your budget. Lower-range models usually feature plastic keybeds, but the CA401 is equipped with Kawai's Grand-Feel Compact wooden-key keyboard action. The combination of long individual wooden keys mounted on a balance pin (just like an acoustic piano) produces an excellent playing experience whether you are a beginner or an accomplished pianist.
White keys have a textured synthetic ivory feel, and counterweights increase the return speed of the notes. Triple key contact sensors capture every nuance of your musical performance, and the simulated escapement mechanism recreates the feel of a grand piano.
The Sound Of A Kawai Concert Grand
The CA401 reproduces the sound of two different Kawai grand pianos. Choose from the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert Grand or the EX Concert Grand - both have their own individual tonal character, which is suited to different tastes and playing styles. The new SK-EX Competition Grand sound variant has been recorded from the player's position, as opposed to the SK-EX, which has been created from the audience's position.
Total of 19 instrument voices
As well as realistic acoustic piano voices, the Kawai CA401 has a range of other instrument sounds which can be layered across the keyboard, including Concert Grands, Upright Piano, Mellow Grands, Classic E.Piano, Modern E.Piano, Organ voices, Harpsichord, Vibraphone, String Ensembles, Choir, and synth-pad sounds.
Three metal piano pedals.
The CA401 has three metal pedals which offer sustain (with half-damping), sostenuto and soft functions. The position of the pedals has been slightly improved over the previous models.
Built In Music & Lessons
The CA401 is loaded with hundreds of songs, exercises and popular classical pieces for you to play along with for practice purposes or simply listen to for pleasure.
Bluetooth MIDI & AUDIO support
Bluetooth AUDIO allows you to stream audio from a Bluetooth-equipped smart device through the incredible sound system of the CA401. This means you can play along to backing tracks or even add more sounds to the piano using a software-based synthesizer.
Bluetooth MIDI support means you can connect your computer or tablet device to the CA401 for external recording applications or the creation of printed scores using software such as Sibelius - all completely wirelessly.
