Expressive Sounds & Super Articulation Voices
At the heart of the Yamaha PSR-SX620 is an extensive sound library covering a wide variety of instruments and musical genres.
There are 1,002 preset Voices plus 51 Drum/SFX Kits, together with 480 XG Voices. Among these are 137 Super Articulation Voices and 34 MegaVoices. Super Articulation Voices are designed to capture characteristic articulations and expressive details of real musical instruments, adding greater nuance and expression to your playing.
The PSR-SX620 uses AWM Stereo Sampling and provides 128-note maximum polyphony, with Right 1, Right 2 and Left keyboard parts.
450 Accompaniment Styles
The Yamaha PSR-SX620 includes 450 preset accompaniment Styles, comprising 416 Pro Styles, 33 Session Styles and one Free Play Style.
Styles provide automatic musical accompaniment as you play, with three Intros, four Main Variations, four Fills, a Break and three Endings available for building complete arrangements and performances.
Four One Touch Settings (OTS) are provided for each Style, while the PSR-SX620 supports a range of fingering options including Single Finger, Fingered, Fingered On Bass, Multi Finger, AI Fingered, Full Keyboard, AI Full Keyboard and Smart Chord.
Smart Chord
Smart Chord makes automatic accompaniment particularly accessible by allowing you to turn a single root note into a full chord. This means you can create professional accompaniment without needing to play every note of each chord yourself.
Chord Looper
The Chord Looper lets you record and play back chord sequences in real time.
Once your chord progression is looping, your left hand is free to concentrate on other parts of your performance. You could play full piano parts, improvise, shape sounds or build different sections of a song without having to continue playing the accompaniment chords.
You can store up to eight chord sequences in each bank, create an unlimited number of banks containing your own chord progressions, or choose from a range of built-in presets.
Live Control Knobs & Joystick Controller
The Yamaha PSR-SX620 gives you hands-on control over your performance with two assignable Live Control knobs and a Joystick Controller.
The Live Control knobs allow real-time adjustment of parameters including brightness, tone and effects, while the joystick provides expressive pitch and modulation control.
These physical controls make it easy to shape and change your sound while you're actually playing.
Redesigned Control Panel
Yamaha has completely redesigned the PSR-SX620 panel to make the instrument clearer and more intuitive to operate.
Frequently used controls are positioned within easy reach, helping you concentrate on playing rather than navigating menus. Whether you're changing a Style, shaping a sound or performing live, the controls are designed to feel immediate and accessible.
At the centre of the instrument is a 4.3-inch TFT colour LCD display, providing a clear visual interface for navigating the PSR-SX620's functions.
Powerful Built-In Speaker System
Despite its compact cabinet, the Yamaha PSR-SX620 features a newly developed speaker system with an Internal BassPort.
An enlarged internal sound chamber enhances bass depth and resonance, while a front-facing bass reflex design improves low-frequency response. Yamaha has also made structural refinements within the cabinet to help produce a tighter, cleaner sound.
The onboard sound system combines two 12cm speakers with 15W + 15W amplification, so the PSR-SX620 is ready to play without requiring separate amplification.
Improved Line Outputs for Live Performance
If you're connecting the Yamaha PSR-SX620 to external speakers or a PA system, upgraded audio output circuitry is designed to provide a clearer and more powerful signal.
Dedicated L/L+R and R line outputs make the PSR-SX620 suitable for connecting directly to an external sound system for live performance, rehearsal or recording.
Bluetooth Audio
Built-in Bluetooth Audio allows you to stream music wirelessly from a compatible device through the PSR-SX620's speaker system.
This makes it easy to play along with your favourite music without needing a separate wired audio connection.
The keyboard also includes a built-in audio recorder, allowing you to capture your performance as a WAV audio file.
Microphone Input & Vocal Effects
The PSR-SX620 isn't limited to keyboard performance. A dedicated microphone input lets you connect a microphone directly to the instrument.
Built-in microphone processing includes Noise Gate, Compressor and 3-band EQ, giving singers and keyboard players the ability to bring their keyboard and vocal performance together.
Expansion Packs & 380MB Expansion Memory
The Yamaha PSR-SX620 includes approximately 380MB of Expansion Voice memory and supports Expansion Styles, allowing you to add further Voices and Styles to the instrument.
By signing up for a Yamaha Music ID, you can access Yamaha's growing library of Expansion Content.
The Expansion Explorer app makes it easier to access, search, preview and manage Expansion Content. Expansion Explorer is available for iOS, Android, Windows and Mac.
Turn MIDI Files Into Your Own Styles
Yamaha's MIDI Song to Style app can convert a standard MIDI file into a ready-to-play accompaniment Style.
The resulting Style can include intros, endings, main sections and fill-ins, providing another way to create personalised accompaniment material for your PSR-SX620.
MIDI & Audio Recording
The Yamaha PSR-SX620 provides both MIDI and audio recording facilities.
MIDI recording supports 16 tracks, with Quick Recording, Multi Recording and Step Recording functions available. The instrument also includes Song Creator, Style Creator and Multi Pad Creator functions.
The built-in audio recorder can record WAV files at 44.1kHz, 16-bit stereo, with a maximum recording time of 80 minutes per song. Audio playback functions include Time Stretch, Pitch Shift and Vocal Cancel.
Registration Memory, Playlists & Multi Pads
For organising your performances, the PSR-SX620 provides eight Registration Memory buttons, together with Registration Sequence and Freeze functions.
Playlist functionality supports up to 500 records per Playlist file, while the instrument also includes 226 Multi Pad banks with four pads per bank and Audio Link functionality.
