A New Organ Engine from the Nord Organ 3
One of the biggest upgrades in the Electro 7 is the organ section, which is now taken directly from the flagship Nord Organ 3. This brings a noticeably more detailed and responsive organ sound, along with Nord’s latest rotary speaker emulation.
The rotary now features multiple microphone positions, allowing you to tailor the sound from tight and focused to wide and spacious. Combined with the physical drawbars with LED indicators on all models, the Electro 7 is a serious instrument for organ players, not just a convenient add-on.
The Electro still covers all the classics, including B3, Vox, Farfisa and pipe organ models, but the overall realism and control is a clear step up from previous generations.
Piano Engine and Nord Piano Library Support
As you would expect, the Electro 7 is fully compatible with the Nord Piano Library, giving access to Nord’s excellent collection of grand pianos, uprights, electric pianos and more.
The piano section benefits from Nord’s latest refinements, and in the Electro 7 HP model, the new Kawai-developed hammer action keybed makes this the most convincing piano-playing Electro ever. It’s a great option for players who want proper weighted feel on stage without moving up to a larger and heavier stage piano.
A Much More Powerful Synth Section
The synth section in the Electro 7 has been significantly expanded and is now far more than just a simple sample playback engine. It combines sample-based synthesis, analogue-style waveforms and FM synthesis, with much deeper control available directly from the front panel.
There are dedicated controls for filter, envelopes, unison, glide and more, making the Electro 7 a genuinely useful performance synth as well as an organ and piano instrument. It is also fully compatible with the Nord Sample Library, opening up a huge palette of additional sounds.
Redesigned Panel and Improved Effects
The Electro 7 features a redesigned front panel with a new high-resolution colour display, making sound selection and navigation faster and clearer than ever.
Another major upgrade is the effects section. Each sound engine now has its own dedicated effects, plus there is global reverb with per-layer send. New additions include a spring reverb, new amp models and improved modulation effects with more detailed control over rate and amount.
All of this adds up to a much more flexible and professional effects setup, especially for live use.
Three Models to Suit Different Players
The Nord Electro 7 range is available in three versions:
- Nord Electro 7 61 – 61-note waterfall keyboard, ultra-portable and ideal for organ and synth-focused players
- Nord Electro 7 73 – 73-note waterfall keyboard, offering more range and flexibility
- Nord Electro 7 HP – 73-note hammer action model with a lightweight Kawai keybed, perfect for pianists
All three models share the same sound engines and core features, so the choice mainly comes down to keybed feel and size.
