Design

The KDP75’s simple yet attractive cabinet incorporates gently curved side arms and wooden toe blocks for additional stability. The piano features a retractable key cover to protect the keyboard from dust and a broad music rest that can be folded flat when not required. At just over 40 centimetres in depth, the KDP75 is also a relatively compact instrument, making it well-suited to apartments and other narrow spaces. The KDP75 is also a relatively compact instrument, making it well-suited to apartments and other narrow spaces. It’s available in two attractive cabinet finishes: Satin Black and Satin White.

Sound

There are four piano sounds: Concert Grand, Studio Grand, Mellow Grand, and Modern Piano. The Sound of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX Concert Grand is the first sound when powering on the piano. Eleven other sounds can be selected: Classic Electronic Piano, Modern Electronic Piano, Jazz Organ, Church Organ, Harpsichord, Vibraphone, String Ensemble, Slow Strings, Choir, New Age Pad, and Atmosphere.

The KDP75 includes a variety of settings to adjust the piano's sound and complement its authenticity: damper resonance, reverb, touch, low volume balance, tuning, transpose, brilliance, virtual technician, spatial headphones sound, and headphones type.

The Virtual Technician performs numerous regulation and voicing adjustments to fully realise the potential of a fine acoustic piano. There are 10 Virtual Technician smart modes: Noiseless, Deep Resonance, Light Resonance, Soft, Brilliant, Clean, Full, Dark, Rich and Historical. It helps you to create the best sound outcome without going through all the settings yourself and readjusting them manually.

Keyboard Action

Featuring an 88-key graded hammer keyboard, the KDP75 keyboard offers a responsive playing experience, while its rich concert grand piano sounds are guaranteed to inspire and impress. The KDP75’s Responsive Hammer Compact keyboard action has been developed to represent the distinctive touch of an acoustic grand piano. Based on the highly-regarded RH keyboard action design, its spring-less mechanism and sturdy construction delivers consistent upward and downward motion, while improved cushioning material helps to reduce keyboard noise, resulting in a smooth, natural, and highly authentic piano playing experience.

Pedals

As with a grand piano, the KDP75 digital piano features damper, sostenuto and soft pedals of a Shigeru Kawai SK-EX Concert grand piano. When the Jazz Organ sound is selected, the soft pedal is also used to alternate the speed of the rotary speaker simulation between the “Slow” and “Fast” effect modes.

USB Connectivity & Apps

The KDP75 features a USB-MIDI port, which can be used to connect the digital piano to a computer or supported smart device. Once connected to a tablet or smartphone, KDP75 owners can easily control the instrument or display notated scores for built-in lesson songs using the dedicated PianoRemote and PiaBookPlayer apps. The PiaBookPlayer app includes notated scores for over 370 pieces, and also supports hands-free page turning by using the piano’s configurable pedals.

Other Useful Features

The KDP75 has a convenient Lesson function. It allows you to practice the piano using a selection of built-in songs. There are five books in total, with over a hundred classical studies by Czerny, Burgmüller, and Beyer, plus contemporary songs from the popular Alfred Basic Piano course books. The left and right-hand parts can be practiced separately while adjusting the tempo allows you to learn at your own pace.

If you're unsure which instrument or product is right for you, nothing compares to seeing, touching, and playing it in person before making a purchase. When you visit a Bonners Music store, you can explore a wide selection of pianos, keyboards, guitars, and related products to help you make the perfect choice.
