Tony White - Bonners Keyboard Expert

Korg Grandstage X Stage Piano

At the heart of the Grandstage X lies its unparalleled sound technology, featuring seven advanced sound engines, each of which is an instrument in its own right. This collection includes the flagship SGX-2 and EP-1 engines, delivering hugely authentic and dynamic piano and electric piano sounds.

The SGX-2 engine is stunning, a result of the meticulous recording of world-class acoustic pianos. It captures every nuance of piano performance with up to an astonishing 12 levels of velocity switches, non-looping samples across all keys, and a depth of resonance that replicates the acoustic intricacies of pedal pressure and mechanical sounds. This engine alone sets a new benchmark in digital piano sound replication.

Accompanying the SGX-2 is the EP-1, a tribute to the golden era of electric pianos. It revives the soulful tones of vintage keyboards with its rich, organic, and distorted sounds. This engine features a collection of seven diverse vintage electric piano sounds, each crafted with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring every performance is imbued with authenticity and character.

A library of legendary pianos

The Grandstage X features an extensive library of 13 main pianos, encompassing a variety of styles from grand pianos of German and Italian heritage to the unique sounds of Japanese pianos. This diverse collection includes the new GSX Piano and Nautilus Piano, each offering mixable close and far mic recordings for an immersive sonic experience. The inclusion of upright and small grand pianos, the iconic OASYS Piano, the SG1D Korg stage piano, and the quintessential 80s and 90s M1 Piano, along with the historical fortepiano, mono pianos and mid-focused instruments, illustrate Korg's commitment to offering a comprehensive range of tones to suit any genre, performance, and venue.

Organ sounds and analogue modelling

In addition to pianos, the Grandstage X features three distinctive organ sounds: the CX-3, Vox, and FC-1, each meticulously recreated to capture the essence of their respective eras. The AL-1 analogue modelling sound source adds another layer of versatility, perfect for crisp leads and full-bodied brass sounds. The HD-1 PCM sound source further enriches the sound palette, with a plethora of distinctive keyboard sounds from electric grands to harpsichords and pipe organs.

A statement of power and elegance

The Grandstage X is a visual and tactile delight. Its light ivory white body, crafted from solid, painted aluminium, exhibits smooth curves and a perforated metal design that blends vintage charm with futuristic elegance. This instrument is not just about sound; it's a statement piece, a testament to Korg's philosophy of blending visual artistry with musical innovation.

The Grandstage X enhances performance with intuitive layering and splitting. Its part control section, with three-part buttons and sliders, allows for easy sound blending and keyboard splitting. Toggle layers and splits with a simple on/off button and finetune volume balances effortlessly. The display conveniently shows program names for each part, making modifications a breeze. This feature not only facilitates quick adjustments during performances but also invites exploration of diverse sound combinations, offering a seamless blend of creativity and control.

The key-touch slider is a game-changer, offering instant control over volume and timbre changes with each keystroke. This feature, along with the RH3 keyboard's Real Weighted Hammer Action, ensures that every subtlety of your playing style is captured and expressed with utmost fidelity.

Tube warmth, unison and sound shaping

The Nutube technology included in Grandstage X offers switchable warm, analogue like sound conditioning, while the Unison function adds depth and richness to your sounds. The onboard effects and equalizers allow for on-the-fly sound shaping, which is crucial for adapting to different performance environments.

Rhythms and chord progressions

For solo performers, the Grandstage X offers an evolved rhythm and chord progression function, providing a full-fledged rhythm track that complements your playing, enhancing your performances with professional-grade backing tracks.

The ST-WGS wooden keyboard stand (sold separately) is specially designed to match the soft curves of the Grandstage X body. The warmth of real wood makes this stand perfect for a modern living room or a formal stage. The legs are made of wood from properly managed forests in consideration of the natural environment.

We offer a variety of flexible delivery options tailored to your location and the type of instrument you purchase. We aim to dispatch most in-stock standard-sized packages within 1 working day of receiving payment. Please note that we currently ship to the UK mainland only.

Pre-Orders and Out of Stock Items

If you order a product that is out of stock, we will contact you to confirm the lead time once we receive your order. You can also call or email us in advance of placing your order to check the current lead time for specific products and pay a small deposit to secure your place in the queue. This is especially convenient for popular or new products when demand is high.

Standard Size Packages

For standard-size packages, we use a range of third-party courier services to deliver goods as efficiently as possible. All items require someone to be present to receive the goods and provide proof of delivery. This is especially important for high-value items.

If you are not home, the courier may leave your parcel in a secure location and provide photographic proof, though this is at the courier's discretion and often not possible for high-value goods. If a delivery cannot be completed, our partners will make up to two attempts before returning the goods to our warehouse. Please be aware that a fee applies for any necessary re-delivery.

For larger items or those requiring delivery to locations such as the Scottish Highlands, offshore islands, or parts of Wales and Northern England, surcharges and longer delivery times of up to 10 days may apply.

Order Tracking

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email containing your tracking number and the name of the courier used. You can track your parcel directly through our partner websites:

Digital Piano & Large Item Delivery

As a specialist piano retailer, we provide two distinct tiers of service for digital piano deliveries to the UK mainland. Larger items that require specialist courier delivery are an exception to our standard despatch times; we will contact you personally to arrange these deliveries. This ensures you know exactly when your item is arriving and can be prepared to have help on hand if required to move and unpack your goods.

  • Economy Delivery: Our fastest service for digital pianos. Your instrument is delivered flat-packed in a box to your doorstep between 8am and 6pm. Because these boxes can weigh between 60kg and 120kg, you will need to have someone available to help you move the instrument into your home and sign for the delivery.
  • Premium Delivery & Setup: This premium service includes professional assembly by our experienced team. We will build your piano in your home, set up any purchased stools, and take away all packaging for recycling. We will coordinate a convenient delivery date and a two-hour time slot with you.

Acoustic Piano Deliveries

Acoustic pianos are delicate instruments that require professional handling with the utmost care. We use specialist piano delivery teams with years of experience to safely deliver upright and grand pianos. We can handle most situations, from a simple drop off to upstairs installations, and even locations where crane access is required.

Ahead of your piano delivery, we will ask you to complete our Piano Delivery Questionnaire to confirm a few details about access to your property and where the piano will be positioned. This will help us ensure your new instrument is delivered safely, efficiently, and without risk to either our team or your piano.

Removal of Existing Acoustic Pianos

If you have an old piano that you no longer require, we can arrange for its professional collection and disposal. Our specialist teams ensure the removal is handled safely without damaging your property.

  • Disposal Service: Prices for piano collection and disposal start from £99.
  • Part Exchange: If you are upgrading, we may be able to offer a part exchange value against your new purchase.

Please contact our team to discuss the specifics of your old instrument so we can provide an accurate quote and coordinate the removal with your new delivery.

Additional Services and Information

For those who prefer to collect in person, you can pick up your order from one of our warehouse locations in Eastbourne, Reigate, Milton Keynes, or Newcastle. To use this service, please contact us by phone to arrange a deposit and confirm availability, as online orders are not eligible for warehouse collection.
