Best In Class Grand Feel III Wooden-Key Keyboard Action

Kawai has over 95 years of experience designing and crafting some of the Word's finest pianos. Their expertise in manufacturing acoustic instruments has been harnessed to produce one of the best keyboard actions in a digital instrument. All eighty-eight keys of the Grand Feel III keyboard have been crafted from long pieces of wood. The keys feature a central balance pin to give a see-saw type movement, resulting in a natural acoustic piano-like touch, which is one of the most important considerations when choosing a digital piano.

Shigeru Kawai Concert Grand Piano Voices

The Shigeru models sit at the pinnacle of Kawai's acoustic grand piano range. These hand-crafted pianos are recognised as among the best in the World because of their tonal quality and dynamic range. The engineers at Kawai have sampled (digitally recorded) the sound of four of their best pianos, including the SK-EX Concert Grand and a brand new piano voice for the CA701 range of pianos called the SK-EX Competition Grand.

The SK-EX Competition Grand piano voice has been recorded from the pianist's position, as opposed to the standard SK-EX Concert voice, which was recorded from the audience's position.

Further authenticity is achieved by the CA701's real-time physical modelling of string and damper resonance to create a piano that feels like it is living and breathing, similar to an acoustic instrument.

Premium Audio Technology & Speaker System

The beautiful sound of the Shigeru piano needs to be heard through a premium-quality audio system, which is delivered by the CA701 in the form of a Digital Audio Converter (DAC) that utilises a specially designed filtering process to reproduce the piano voices accurately and clearly.

The CA701 has a high-quality audio system that powers 6-speakers with premium quality driver units. Custom-designed diffuser panels help to disperse the piano's sound evenly throughout the room in which the piano is positioned so that it sounds great for both the listener and the performer. Total output power is 110watts (55w + 55w).

Headphone Outputs

The CA701 has two independent headphone outputs so that two people can enjoy the sound of this instrument at the same time without disturbing others in the household or neighbouring properties. The headphone output is enhanced with Kawai's Spatial Headphone Sound Technology to make playing with earphones just as enjoyable as hearing the instrument through its own speaker system.
