More Information
Improved RHIII keyboard action
A very important consideration when buying a new piano is the 'feel' of the keyboard - known as the Keyboard Action. A good keyboard action will ensure the player feels connected to the instrument and results in a more enjoyable playing experience. The Kawai CN201 features an improved RHIII keyboard with cushioning & a new mid-rail to reduce both mechanical noise by 10% and prevent release 'bounce'.
19 Instrument Sounds
The CN201 features the sound of 25 different instruments including a choice of acoustic grand & upright pianos, electric pianos, organs, strings, choir, synthesizer and other voices. Two sounds can be layered together or split across the keyboard so you play one voice with your right hand and another with the left.
Metronome
Practice with a metronome is very important to improve your timing. The CN201 has a built-in metronome that offers all the popular time signatures.
Internal Song Recorder
When practicing, the ability to be able to record and listen to your performance is very useful. The CN201 allows up to 3 songs to be recorded into it's internal memory. The total memory capacity is 15,000 notes. You can use the recorder to either record a complete performance, or just record one hand part of a piece and practice the other part whilst playing back the recording.
Headphones
It is possible to connect two sets of headphones to the Kawai CN201 for practicing without disturbing others in the household. The headphone output is enhanced with Kawai's Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS) to make playing with headphones just as enjoyable as through the instrument's own speaker system.
Bluetooth
There are two types of Bluetooth connectivity in the context of digital pianos. Bluetooth Audio allows you to stream the sound from your portable device through the speaker system of the CN201. This means you can playalong with backing tracks produced on the device or streamed from the internet. Bluetooth MIDI allows the digital piano to communicate with a wide variety of music-related apps from Kawai and other third-party developers, providing an exciting way to enjoy the piano without the need for additional adapters or cables. Kawai's PianoRemote app uses Bluetooth MIDI to communicate with the CN201.
Reverb Effect
The reverb effect adds ambience to the overall sound of the piano. There are various different reverb settings to give the effect of playing on stage, in a concert hall or in a cathedral, plus many more. Reverb adds a nice 'professional touch' to the overall sound.
Pedals
The CN201 has three metal piano pedals that perform just like a grand piano - damper (sustain), soft and sostenuto.
Amplification & Speakers
A powerful 20w + 20w amplifier drives two 12cm speakers to give a full-bodied sound.
External Connections
Two headphone connectors are provided so that more than one person can hear the sound of the CN201 at the same time. The USB to Host connection is to be used for connection to computers.
