Are you looking for a portable digital piano that offers improved quality over entry-level models without the price tag of the flagship instruments? The Kawai ES520 might just be the perfect instrument for you! Sharing many features found in the top-of-the-range model, the ES520 bridges the gap between entry-level and premium at an affordable price.
There has always been a huge gulf in between the price of the entry level and flagship portable pianos from all manufacturers. This is a first for Kawai - a digital piano which is positioned slap-bang in the middle of the price range and will appeal to many people who want more than the entry-level instruments can offer.
34 Authentic Sounds
The ES520 is equipped with a total of 34 on-board authentic instrument sounds. In addition to 8 convincing acoustic piano sounds created using Progressive Harmonic Imaging sound technology with 88-key stereo sampling, there are 5 x E.Piano's, 5 x Organs (tonewheel and classical), 4 x Clav/Harpsichord/Mallet sounds, 7 x strings & choir ensembles, and 5 x bass voices for split keyboard performance.
Various split and layer modes are available - two voices can be layered or split across the keyboard (user-definable split point). Maximum polyphony is 192 notes.
Responsive Hammer Compact II keyboard actionDeveloped alongside the RH3 keyboard found in the flagship ES920, the Kawai RH Compact 2 keyboard delivers a superb touch in a more compact and lightweight package which makes it ideal for use in the ES520. Matte key surfaces and sturdy construction results in a firm, balanced feel and the spring-less technology results in a smooth, natural playing experience.
Powerful On-Board Amplification & SpeakersJust like the flagship model, the ES520 features a powerful motherboard & amplification system developed with premium Hifi manufacturer Onkyo. The 40w speaker system delivers a rich, vibrant sound, never-before-seen at this price point.
Bluetooth Audio + MIDIThe ES520 allows connection via Bluetooth for both streaming music through the instrument's onboard speaker system, or for communication with Apps on your iOS/Android device. Coming soon after launch will be the new Kawai Piano Remote app - control the piano's features wirelessly using the touchscreen of your smart device!
Complete The Look With Optional Wooden StandAvailable as an additional purchase, the Kawai HM5 wooden piano stand gives your ES520 a modern image - ideal for the contemporary home. The Kawai HM3 pedal bar can also be added to complete the stylish piano package.
Studio-Quality Effects To Enhance Your SoundIn recording studios and on stage, digital effects are added to the sound in order to enhance the tone, or create bespoke sounds that are unique to the performer. The Kawai ES520 has the same powerful effects processors found in the higher range model and these give immense control over your final sound. The effects processor is divided into three sections, all of which can be activated at the same time:
REVERB:Reverb adds an ambience to the overall sound - the kind of 'echo' you hear when talking in a large concert hall or cathedral. The ES520 offers six different reverb effect - and you have control over the reverb depth and time individually for each: Room, Lounge, Small Hall, Concert Hall, Live Hall, Cathedral.
MULTI EFFECTS:Multi-effects are widely used to enhance the sound of musical instruments. The ES520 is equipped with a choice of sixteen multi-effects: Mono Delay, Ping Delay, Triple Delay, Chorus, Classic Chorus, Ensemble, Tremolo, Classic Tremolo, Vibrato Tremolo, Auto Pan, Classic Auto Pan, Phaser, Classic Phaser, Compressor, Rotary 1, Rotary 2.
AMP SIMULATOR:The onboard amp simulator allows you to recreate the 'dirty' sound of instruments such as E.Pianos, Organs and Clavs being routed through a vintage amplifier. There are separate controls for Drive, Level, EQ Low, EQ High on each of the three amp models.
Virtual Technician Function - Create Your Unique Piano SoundKawai's popular Virtual Technician feature allows you to modify the acoustic piano voices to your own taste. You have full control over parameters including Touch Curve, Voicing, Resonance & Noise, Temperament & Tuning, Hammer Delay and pedal response. You can save your own unique piano voices for instant recall.
On-board RecorderRecord your performance with the onboard 50,000 note recorder. The ES520 stores up to 3 of your own performances. Ideal for listening back to check your accuracy when learning new pieces, or just for fun! Your songs can be saved to a USB stick for storage. Standard MIDI Files (SMF) can also be played back from an external USB storage device.
Metronome & Drum RhythmsThere's a built-in metronome offering multiple time signatures and tempos, as well as 100 drum rhythms which make practice even more fun!
