Kawai GL50 188cm Grand Piano; Polished Ebony;

Featuring a solid spruce soundboard and Kawai’s ground-breaking Millennium III keyboard action, the Kawai GL50 is a powerful instrument, with a great touch and long-lasting durability. Kawai grand pianos are renowned for their expressive tone, and the GL50 is testament to that thanks to long key lengths, and duplex scaling in the higher registers.

The solid hardwood bridge ensures the right string pressure is applied, creating the best tonal output possible from the instrument. Pianissimo playing is as comfortable and effective as fortissimo thanks to the ABS-Carbon components featured in the Millennium III action, which provide a fast, strong and light playing feel

Keyboard Action
Kawai's highly acclaimed Millenium 3 action delivers exceptional sensitivity and control, using carbon fibre infused ABS components for increased strength and stability. This innovative design results in a lighter, faster, and more reliable action that enhances expression and dynamic range. It also reduces mechanical noise and ensures long-term durability. Longer keys and concert-length key buttons make for an easy playing feel while giving great power.

Tapered Spruce Soundboard
Produced from straight-grained, quarter-sawn solid spruce, Kawai’s soundboards are tapered to increase surface area, maximising the resonance and tonal richness of the instrument. The soundboard design and materials enable the piano to produce a vibrant, clear sound with impressive sustain and dynamic range.

CORE System
The CORE system is a structural feature in selected Kawai grand pianos that focuses the piano's strength centres towards a central point. The GL50 benefits from this system, meaning that the rim, plate, and underside beams of the piano converge at a metal connector in the centre of the instrument. This creates a solid core foundation to maximise the rim's reflective capabilities, resulting in greater power, longer sustain, and a more resonant tone.
