Kawai K500 Aures 2 Anytime Hybrid Upright Piano; Polished Ebony
At 131cm tall, the K500 model is able to rival many smaller grand pianos in tonal quality and sustain. This model features Neotex key surfaces and extended key length, which gives the player a more even response from the front to back of the playing surface, as well as eradicating any slipping caused by the hands' natural oils. As a result, the keys have great durability over the years and will resist any cracking or fading.Built to a high standard in japan, the K500 also features Duplex Scaling, solid spruce tapered soundboard, wide music rack and Kawai's Millenium III Upright Action..
The Kawai K500 AURES 2 upright piano truly completes the divide between the organic expressiveness of an acoustic piano and the convenient, advanced functionality of a digital instrument. Sharing the same digital technology as the popular Kawai ATX4 Anytime silent models, the K500 AURES 2 adds a built-in sound system so that the digital aspects of the instrument can be heard without the requirement of headphones.
At 131cm tall, Kawai’s Japanese-made K500 offers plenty of depth and sustain, with rich overtones thanks to the Duplex scaling in treble registers. The Neotex key surfaces matched with the Millennium III action make this piano a joy to play. With a large soundboard surface area and long strings, it will project well even in larger rooms.

- Wide 94cm long music desk

Keyboard Action
Kawai's highly acclaimed Millenium 3 action delivers exceptional sensitivity and control, using carbon fibre infused ABS components for increased strength and stability. This innovative design results in a lighter, faster, and more reliable action that enhances expression and dynamic range. It also reduces mechanical noise and ensures long-term durability.
Neotex Key Surfaces
Kawai have developed their Neotex key surfaces to ensure that moisture is drawn away from your fingers while playing this piano. The Neotex surface feels great under your fingers, and greater precision and accuracy.
Tapered Spruce Soundboard
Produced from straight-grained, quarter-sawn solid spruce, Kawai’s soundboards are tapered to increase surface area, maximising the resonance and tonal richness of the instrument. The soundboard design and materials enable the piano to produce a vibrant, clear sound with impressive sustain and dynamic range.
Cabinet Design
Kawai’s K500 Model is a traditional upright piano with clean lines and contemporary design cues to ensure that it looks at home in any setting. This model is also fitted with a soft-close fallboard.
Kawai AURES 2 - Combining Digital & Acoustic in one instrument
Using specially designed transducers, the digital sound is amplified using the natural wood components of the piano's soundboard. This not only allows the piano to be played in 'digital mode', but also gives the opportunity for mixing the digital tones with the pure acoustic voice of the piano. Imagine being able to play the acoustic piano, but hear the beautiful sound of a string orchestra following your every note - you can do it with the K350 AURES 2 piano!
The new Kawai AURES 2 system offers the specification of a top-range digital instrument with the organic response and touch of an acoustic instrument. The 5300 AURES 2 piano can work in four ways to suit your playing style and environment:
- Enjoy the playing experience of a 'normal' acoustic piano
- Plug in headphones and play in 'silent mode' so you don't disturb the neighbours!
- Play in the digital mode where you hear the sound of the digital piano amplified using the instrument's own solid spruce soundboard
- Mix digital & acoustic together - hear the sound of both the electronic voices mixed with the natural sound of the acoustic piano - you can get really creative with this mode! Example: layer the sound of a string orchestra with the K500's natural acoustic piano tone
To switch into 'Anytime' silent mode, simply push the power button, lock the centre pedal into the practice position, put on some headphones, and play! You'll hear the sound of the legendary Shigeru Kawai SK concert grand piano in your ears, but those around you won't hear anything!
The physical components of the AURES 2 system are fitted in Kawai's factory as part of the piano manufacturing process. This is far superior to retro-fitted silencer systems because the cable management, keyboard sensors, hammer stop rail, and electronics are integrated into the design of the instrument and therefore offers the most reliable and accurate method of combining electronic & acoustic piano technologies without compromising the performance of the original instrument.
The control panel located under the left-hand side of the instrument is equipped with dual headphone jacks so that two people can enjoy the AURES 2 piano in 'silent' mode at the same time. There is also an Audio AUX-IN so you can connect an external audio device to the instrument, as well as a LINE OUT jack that allows you to connect the 'digital' sound of the piano to external amplification or other devices. MIDI IN & OUT terminals give the option to expand the sound and functions further by connection to other MIDI-equipped instruments, and there is also a USB connector for connection to computers or smart devices.
Bluetooth + Apps
The Kawai K500 Aures 2 piano offers full Bluetooth MIDI + Audio capability with aptX support, for streaming high-quality audio from your smart device to the piano (this will be heard through the headphones).
There are two apps specifically recommended by Kawai that will help you get the most from your Aures 2 piano - PianoRemote and PiaBookPlayer.
If you want to explore the other voices (there's a total of 90 tones) or record your performance, load up the Kawai PianoRemote App for iOS or Android devices and you'll open up the true power of the Aures 2 system. It's like having a top-of-the-range digital piano hidden inside your acoustic piano. PianoRemote gives you full control over all features of the Aures 2 Anytime piano.
The Aures 2 Hybrid silent system allows you to play & hear the sound of many World-class pianos through the headphones (Kawai SH9 included) including concert grands, upright pianos, studio grands and even a honky-tonk piano. In addition to stunning acoustic piano voices, the Aures 2 system features classic electric pianos, organs, harpsichords, strings, choirs, percussion instruments and even some synth pad voices. It's possible to layer any two of these voices together to create classic layered combinations such as piano+strings or organ+choir, or you could split the keyboard in two so that you have a different voice on the left register, to that on the right - for example, acoustic bass in the left hand and piano in the right, to create a jazzy feel.
Record your performance as either MIDI or AUDIO data using the app's recording feature, and share your performance with family and friends, or use it to listen back to your progress when learning difficult musical passages.
The PiabookPlayer App allows you to visually see and listen to the 377 pre-recorded pieces of music which are supplied with the Aures 2 series pianos.

Pre-Orders and Out of Stock Items
If you order a product that is out of stock, we will contact you to confirm the lead time once we receive your order. You can also call or email us in advance of placing your order to check the current lead time for specific products and pay a small deposit to secure your place in the queue. This is especially convenient for popular or new products when demand is high.
Standard Size Packages
For standard-size packages, we use a range of third-party courier services to deliver goods as efficiently as possible. All items require someone to be present to receive the goods and provide proof of delivery. This is especially important for high-value items.
If you are not home, the courier may leave your parcel in a secure location and provide photographic proof, though this is at the courier's discretion and often not possible for high-value goods. If a delivery cannot be completed, our partners will make up to two attempts before returning the goods to our warehouse. Please be aware that a fee applies for any necessary re-delivery.
For larger items or those requiring delivery to locations such as the Scottish Highlands, offshore islands, or parts of Wales and Northern England, surcharges and longer delivery times of up to 10 days may apply.
Order Tracking
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email containing your tracking number and the name of the courier used. You can track your parcel directly through our partner websites:

Digital Piano & Large Item Delivery
As a specialist piano retailer, we provide two distinct tiers of service for digital piano deliveries to the UK mainland. Larger items that require specialist courier delivery are an exception to our standard despatch times; we will contact you personally to arrange these deliveries. This ensures you know exactly when your item is arriving and can be prepared to have help on hand if required to move and unpack your goods.
- Economy Delivery: Our fastest service for digital pianos. Your instrument is delivered flat-packed in a box to your doorstep between 8am and 6pm. Because these boxes can weigh between 60kg and 120kg, you will need to have someone available to help you move the instrument into your home and sign for the delivery.
- Premium Delivery & Setup: This premium service includes professional assembly by our experienced team. We will build your piano in your home, set up any purchased stools, and take away all packaging for recycling. We will coordinate a convenient delivery date and a two-hour time slot with you.
Acoustic Piano Deliveries
Acoustic pianos are delicate instruments that require professional handling with the utmost care. We use specialist piano delivery teams with years of experience to safely deliver upright and grand pianos. We can handle most situations, from a simple drop off to upstairs installations, and even locations where crane access is required.
Ahead of your piano delivery, we will ask you to complete our Piano Delivery Questionnaire to confirm a few details about access to your property and where the piano will be positioned. This will help us ensure your new instrument is delivered safely, efficiently, and without risk to either our team or your piano.
Removal of Existing Acoustic Pianos
If you have an old piano that you no longer require, we can arrange for its professional collection and disposal. Our specialist teams ensure the removal is handled safely without damaging your property.
- Disposal Service: Prices for piano collection and disposal start from £99.
- Part Exchange: If you are upgrading, we may be able to offer a part exchange value against your new purchase.
Please contact our team to discuss the specifics of your old instrument so we can provide an accurate quote and coordinate the removal with your new delivery.

- FedEx: Track your FedEx shipment here
- DX Express: Track your DX Express shipment here
Digital Piano & Large Item Delivery
Additional Services and Information
