Kawai K800-AS Upright Piano; Polished Ebony

The K800-AS is the epitome of quality and elegance. It is the tallest upright in the series at a height of 134cm, and as a result, if you close your eyes you will really feel like you are sat in front of a grand piano. This, coupled with the excellent touch from Kawai's extended Neotex keys, means this model can easily perform alongside other upright models of a similar size, as well as baby grand pianos. The K800 boasts all the features you will find along with the K series, along with a True Sostenuto Pedal, and elegant modern design.

This product is sold in the name and on behalf of Kawai UK Ltd., whose Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy will apply.

Keyboard Action
Kawai's highly acclaimed Millenium 3 action delivers exceptional sensitivity and control, using carbon fibre infused ABS components for increased strength and stability. This innovative design results in a lighter, faster, and more reliable action that enhances expression and dynamic range. It also reduces mechanical noise and ensures long-term durability.

Neotex Key Surfaces
Kawai have developed their Neotex key surfaces to ensure that moisture is drawn away from your fingers while playing this piano. The Neotex surface feels great under your fingers, and greater precision and accuracy.

True Sostenuto Pedal
Unlike the standard middle pedal found on most upright pianos, which typically functions as a practice pedal, Kawai's True Sostenuto Pedal allows for selective sustain of specific notes. When engaged, this pedal sustains only the notes that are already being held down, allowing for greater control and a more nuanced performance. This feature is more commonly found on grand pianos, making it a unique addition to the K800-AS

Agraffes
Usually associated with grand pianos, agraffes offer an improved alternative to the cost-saving pressure bar that is found on most upright piano models. The speaking length of each string can be carefully measured with individual agraffes, resulting in a much truer tone and the cleanest possible vibrations.

Tapered Spruce Soundboard
Produced from straight-grained, quarter-sawn solid spruce, Kawai’s soundboards are tapered to increase surface area, maximising the resonance and tonal richness of the instrument. The soundboard design and materials enable the piano to produce a vibrant, clear sound with impressive sustain and dynamic range.

Cabinet Design
Kawai’s K800 Model is a traditional upright piano that borrows design cues from Kawai’s grand piano models. As well as the composers’ music desk, the piano gains a grand piano-style fallboard. The design of the music desk means that sound can escape from the front of the cabinet and give a more immersive experience to the player.
