Marshall AS50D Acoustic Guitar Amplifier

A dual-channel, 50-watt acoustic combo amplifier engineered for electro-acoustic instruments and vocal performance.

Developed under Marshall’s Acoustic Series, the AS50D is engineered to provide linear, neutral frequency response for players requiring natural acoustic tone over standard electric drive. The platform addresses the specific frequency demands of stringed acoustic instruments, prioritizing dynamic headroom and feedback suppression for stage environments.

The unit features a 50-watt solid-state power section driving two 8-inch custom woofers paired with a high-fidelity polymer dome tweeter. I/O architecture includes an instrument channel, a second channel equipped with both balanced XLR (with phantom power) and stereo RCA auxiliary inputs, an onboard effects loop, and dedicated line and balanced DI outputs for routing to house PA systems.

Dual-Channel Routing & Signal Management

• Independent Channel Architecture: Provides dedicated volume and two-band EQ controls across both instrument and vocal/auxiliary channels for simultaneous dual-source operation.

• Integrated Feedback Elimination: Features a frequency-selectable notch filter, phase inversion switch, and an internal limiter to control resonant acoustic feedback and prevent stage distortion.

• Comprehensive Line Integration: Direct output capabilities via balanced XLR DI and line out allow direct board routing without requiring external direct boxes.

Integrated Digital DSP & Modulation

• Dual Digital Effects Engine: Onboard digital chorus and studio reverb circuits allow flexible spatial processing directly from the front panel.

• Flexible Channel Assignment: Chorus section allows direct assignment to Channel 1, Channel 2, or both, with variable speed and depth regulation.

• Parallel Effects Loop: Integrated send/return loop allows integration of external signal processors with balance control across both channels.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the microphone input supply phantom power for condenser mics?

Yes. Channel 2 features a balanced XLR input with built-in phantom power, accommodating both active studio condenser microphones and dynamic vocal microphones.

Can the Marshall AS50D handle vocals and guitar simultaneously?

Yes. The AS50D operates as a true dual-channel acoustic PA combo. Channel 1 is dedicated to 1/4-inch instrument inputs, while Channel 2 accepts balanced XLR microphones or RCA stereo line-level sources, each with dedicated EQ and level controls.

Can I connect the amplifier directly to a front-of-house PA system?

Yes. The rear panel includes a balanced XLR DI Output and a 1/4-inch Line Out, allowing you to send your mixed signal directly to a mixer or recording interface without an external DI box.

Is a footswitch included to toggle the built-in effects?

A footswitch is not included with the amplifier, but the rear panel features a dedicated 1/4-inch footswitch jack compatible with standard dual latching footswitches (such as the Marshall PEDL-90001) to toggle Chorus and Reverb remotely.
