Yamaha Acompass 60: Your Guitar. Your Voice. Beautifully Amplified.

The Yamaha Acompass 60 is a premium 60-watt acoustic guitar and vocal amplifier designed for singer-songwriters who want their music to sound natural, expressive and beautifully balanced. Whether you're playing at home, performing in a café or entertaining an audience at an intimate venue, it gives your guitar and singing voice the attention they both deserve.

Many acoustic amplifiers are designed primarily around the guitar, with a microphone input added as an extra. Yamaha has taken a different approach. Drawing on its experience in acoustic guitars and professional audio, the Acompass 60 has been developed to deliver equally impressive guitar and vocal performance from one compact, easy-to-use amplifier. Yamaha calls this True Acoustic Voice.

Why Choose the Yamaha Acompass 60?

• Made for singer-songwriters: Two dedicated channels put your vocal performance on an equal footing with your acoustic guitar.
• Premium 60W sound: A specially tuned 8-inch full-range speaker delivers clear, natural reproduction for intimate performances.
• D-PRE Class-A preamps: Yamaha's premium preamp technology is used on both channels for detailed guitar and vocal sound.
• More natural acoustic guitar tone: AMBIENCE helps restore the body resonance and airiness that piezo pickups can lose.
• Confident, expressive vocals: One-knob COMP helps smooth vocal dynamics while maintaining presence.
• Easy-to-use effects: Independent EQ and REVERB, plus ENHANCER, help you shape your sound without complicated menus.
• Less unwanted feedback: A one-touch automatic FEEDBACK SUPPRESSOR helps during live performances.
• Ready for different setups: Bluetooth and AUX audio inputs, a balanced XLR line output and a headphone socket offer flexible connections.
• Compact and portable: Just 8.2kg, with simple, hands-on controls.

Why Buy Your Yamaha Acompass 60 from Bonners?

Choosing the right acoustic amplifier is about more than its wattage or list of effects. The way it handles your particular guitar, pickup system and singing voice makes all the difference. At Bonners, our musical instrument specialists can help you understand the Acompass 60's features and decide whether it's the right amplifier for the way you perform.

Natural Guitar Tone with Yamaha AMBIENCE

An electro-acoustic guitar can sound quite different when plugged in. Piezo pickups are convenient and widely used, but they can sometimes emphasise a hard, direct quality and lose some of the resonance you hear when playing unplugged.

The Acompass 60's AMBIENCE control is designed to address that problem. It recreates a sense of the guitar's natural body resonance and airiness, helping your amplified sound feel warmer and more organic. Rather than demanding complicated adjustments, a single control lets you add as much as your guitar needs.

The dedicated ENHANCER function can also restore high-frequency detail and clarity, while the guitar channel's three-band EQ lets you tailor bass, middle and treble to your instrument and the room.

A Vocal Channel That's More Than an Afterthought

For a singer-songwriter, a great guitar tone is only half the story. The Acompass 60 was designed to reproduce vocals with the same care and clarity as the acoustic guitar.

Both channels feature Yamaha D-PRE discrete Class-A preamps, technology originally developed for Yamaha's high-end recording equipment. On the vocal/instrument channel, the simple COMP control helps even out changes in singing volume and adds presence, so quieter phrases can remain audible without making you feel you have to push your voice.

Individual REVERB controls help vocals and guitar sit together naturally, creating a cohesive sound that suits solo performances.

Excellent Sound Without Complicated Setup

Yamaha has made the Acompass 60 straightforward to operate. Each channel has its own gain, three-band EQ and effects controls, with input settings that suit different signal levels. The guitar channel includes HIGH/LOW input selection, while the second channel can be configured for a microphone or instrument.

There's no app to configure and no need to work through menus. The most important adjustments are right on the amplifier. A one-touch automatic feedback suppressor helps reduce unwanted feedback when you're performing.

Flexible Connections for Home, Rehearsals and the Stage

For a small performance, the Acompass 60 can handle your guitar and microphone together through its own 8-inch speaker. For a larger setup, the balanced XLR line output lets you send your sound to a PA system or suitable recording equipment.

Bluetooth audio playback and a 3.5mm AUX input make it convenient to play along with backing tracks or other audio sources. A headphone socket is useful for private practice, and switchable phantom power supports compatible condenser microphones.

At just 8.2kg, with a cabinet measuring approximately 30 × 30 × 31cm, the amplifier is easy to move between home, rehearsals and gigs. Please note: the Acompass 60 operates from mains power and does not contain a rechargeable battery. Its USB-C connection is for firmware updates, not USB audio recording.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I connect an acoustic guitar and microphone at the same time?

Yes. The Acompass 60 has independent guitar and vocal/instrument channels, so you can amplify your electro-acoustic guitar and singing voice together, with separate sound controls for each.

Is the Yamaha Acompass 60 suitable for live gigs?

Yes. Yamaha designed it with solo singer-songwriters in mind, particularly for house concerts, cafés and small indoor venues. A balanced XLR line output also allows connection to a larger PA system.

Does the Acompass 60 have Bluetooth?

Yes. You can use Bluetooth to play audio, including backing tracks, from a compatible device. The amplifier also has a wired AUX input.

Does it have built-in reverb and effects?

Yes. Each channel has REVERB and ENHANCER functions. The guitar channel adds AMBIENCE for natural acoustic resonance, while the vocal/instrument channel includes a compressor. There is also automatic feedback suppression.

Can I connect a condenser microphone?

Yes. The Acompass 60 provides switchable phantom power for compatible microphones.

Can I use it with a Yamaha Atmosfeel-equipped guitar?

Yes. Yamaha recommends starting with the guitar's Atmosfeel Mic Blend switched off and the amplifier's AMBIENCE at zero. Add only the amount of AMBIENCE needed, as too much combined body resonance can make the sound overly boomy.

Can I power the Acompass 60 from a battery?

No. The Acompass 60 requires mains power and does not have a built-in rechargeable battery.

Can I record directly to a computer through USB-C?

No. The USB-C port is intended for firmware updates only. For recording, Yamaha provides a balanced XLR line output that can connect to suitable audio recording equipment.
