Yamaha AvantGrand N3x Hybrid Digital Grand Piano
With the new AvantGrand N3x, Yamaha have bridged the gap between acoustic and digital pianos. It has long been said that the infinite expression players feel when performing on an acoustic piano is not possible to re-create with a digital instrument. Enter the new AvantGrand N3x from Yamaha. Here at Bonners, our staff believe this is simply the very best digital piano they have ever played.
Keyboard ActionThe N3x features real wooden keys with Ivorite keytops – these keys look and feel just like those found on acoustic instruments. The key action is taken from Yamaha’s exquisite range of concert grand pianos, to give you the same response and expression as an acoustic piano. The key weighting is exactly the same as that found on a grand piano, and the non-contact optical sensors ensure that the electronics do not interfere with the performance of the instrument in any way.
SoundThe N3x features two world-class pianos in one instrument – each with its own character and identity for different styles and music tastes. Starting with the superb Yamaha CFX Concert Grand, this piano has a beautiful, crystal clear tone across the range – sparkling highs and deep, resonant bass tones. The second instrument featured in the N3x is the mighty Bosendorfer Imperial. The Imperial is a beautifully expressive, warm voiced piano and sounds wonderful for romantic classical performances.
Both of these excellent piano sounds are further enhanced through the four-channel Spatial Acoustic Speaker System and Soundboard Resonator located beneath the music rest. Unique to the N3x is the speaker placement. Yamaha engineers have cleverly positioned the speakers in the same places as the microphones were placed when recording the source piano sound. This results in the player receiving the closest possible recreation of an acoustic piano.
Tactile Response SystemThe Tactile Response System enhances the physical sensation that the player feels when performing on the N3x digital grand piano. Acoustic pianos feel “alive” and the player subconsciously feels vibrations and resonance through their fingertips and even the pedals. The TRS recreates these feelings through the use of tiny electronic motors that vibrate in accordance with the tone of the piano. We recommend that you try this feature for yourself – it’s extremely effective and it even works when headphones are in use too!
Record Your PerformanceThe on-board audio recorder allows you to record your performance in beautiful uncompressed WAV format, direct to a USB flash drive. Listen to your playing through the on-board speaker system or share the WAV file with your friends, family, or even upload them to your favourite digital music sharing website.
