Huge Sound PaletteAs well as a beautiful concert grand piano sound, the MX88 is the ideal instrument for the gigging musician, as well as being perfect for use in home studios as a powerful composition tool. There are excellent recreations of classic electric pianos, clavs and tonewheel organs - complete with effects such as chorus, phasing, and rotary speaker simulator. The keyboard sounds mentioned above are complemented with an excellent array of orchestral sounds including strings, brass, woodwind, classical organs and other classical instruments. For when more modern sounds are needed, the MX88 delivers a great range of synthesizers, guitars, basses and cutting edge modern-sounding drum & percussion sounds.
Easy Split / Layer FunctionWith the MX88, it is easy to combine two Voices to play on the keyboard at the same time using the dedicated Split and Layer buttons. You can save your favourite slip & layered sound combinations, each one with their own intelligent arpeggiator and a dedicated Part for a drum track. The MX88 comes pre-loaded with 128 Performances to show off what this powerful instrument is capable of, but all the presets are fully editable and can be erased to make space for you to save your own settings.
8 Element Voices For Huge & Complex Sound CreationBecause the MX88’s sound processor is based on the same powerful beast found in the MOtif line of keyboards, it is possible to create voices that consist of up to 8 ‘elements’. These 8 elements can be layered to create ‘massive’ sounds or split across the keyboard for when you need to create complex orchestrations without changing patches. YOu can even velocity-switch between the elements for even greater flexibility. The MX88 has 128 notes of polyphony to minimise note dropout and easily copes with 16 track sequences.
Full Compatibility With Yamaha FM Essential AppThe MX88 is fully compatible with Yamaha’s new (and free!) FM Essential iOS app. The standard version of this APP features just 10 voices, but when connected to the MX88 (using the Apple Lightning to USB connector) an extra 261 voices are unlocked to give you a full range of famous 80’s synth sounds right up to current electronic dance music tones. The FM Essential APP even maps itself to work with the hardware controllers found on the MX88 - full integration - it's like having an extra synth completely free of charge (you’ll need an Apple iPad to achieve this!)
Integration With Your Favourite iOS / MAC / PC Music Making SoftwareThe MX88 is designed to integrate with your favourite DAW software and features class-compliant USB [to host] connection to plug directly to your computer or iOS device (requires connection cable - not supplied). Pre-Orders and Out of Stock Items
If you order a product that is out of stock, we will contact you to confirm the lead time once we receive your order. You can also call or email us in advance of placing your order to check the current lead time for specific products and pay a small deposit to secure your place in the queue. This is especially convenient for popular or new products when demand is high.
Standard Size Packages
For standard-size packages, we use a range of third-party courier services to deliver goods as efficiently as possible. All items require someone to be present to receive the goods and provide proof of delivery. This is especially important for high-value items.
If you are not home, the courier may leave your parcel in a secure location and provide photographic proof, though this is at the courier's discretion and often not possible for high-value goods. If a delivery cannot be completed, our partners will make up to two attempts before returning the goods to our warehouse. Please be aware that a fee applies for any necessary re-delivery.
For larger items or those requiring delivery to locations such as the Scottish Highlands, offshore islands, or parts of Wales and Northern England, surcharges and longer delivery times of up to 10 days may apply.

Digital Piano & Large Item Delivery
As a specialist piano retailer, we provide two distinct tiers of service for digital piano deliveries to the UK mainland. Larger items that require specialist courier delivery are an exception to our standard despatch times; we will contact you personally to arrange these deliveries. This ensures you know exactly when your item is arriving and can be prepared to have help on hand if required to move and unpack your goods.
- Economy Delivery: Our fastest service for digital pianos. Your instrument is delivered flat-packed in a box to your doorstep between 8am and 6pm. Because these boxes can weigh between 60kg and 120kg, you will need to have someone available to help you move the instrument into your home and sign for the delivery.
- Premium Delivery & Setup: This premium service includes professional assembly by our experienced team. We will build your piano in your home, set up any purchased stools, and take away all packaging for recycling. We will coordinate a convenient delivery date and a two-hour time slot with you.
Acoustic Piano Deliveries
Acoustic pianos are delicate instruments that require professional handling with the utmost care. We use specialist piano delivery teams with years of experience to safely deliver upright and grand pianos. We can handle most situations, from a simple drop off to upstairs installations, and even locations where crane access is required.
Ahead of your piano delivery, we will ask you to complete our Piano Delivery Questionnaire to confirm a few details about access to your property and where the piano will be positioned. This will help us ensure your new instrument is delivered safely, efficiently, and without risk to either our team or your piano.
Removal of Existing Acoustic Pianos
If you have an old piano that you no longer require, we can arrange for its professional collection and disposal. Our specialist teams ensure the removal is handled safely without damaging your property.
- Disposal Service: Prices for piano collection and disposal start from £99.
- Part Exchange: If you are upgrading, we may be able to offer a part exchange value against your new purchase.
