An active 5-string electric bass guitar designed for tonal flexibility, ergonomic comfort, and road-ready reliability.
The Yamaha TRBX series is engineered with a focus on performance, balancing advanced electronics with precision craftsmanship to support developing players and working professionals alike. Designed as a versatile workhorse, this instrument provides a neutral, high-fidelity sonic foundation that allows players to shape their tone for any musical genre.
Built around a deeply contoured solid mahogany body, the TRBX505 is physically balanced for maximum comfort whether playing seated or standing. It features a 34-inch scale length, a rosewood fingerboard with a 10-inch radius, and a stable 5-piece maple and mahogany neck. Hardware includes a high-mass die-cast bridge with 19mm string spacing, black nickel tuners, and a pair of Alnico V humbucking pickups.
Versatile Active/Passive Electronics
-
3-Band Active EQ: Features dedicated bass, middle, and treble controls for precise frequency shaping and tonal customization.
-
Active/Passive Switch: Allows seamless switching between a high-output active preamp circuit and a pure, organic passive signal path.
-
Level-Matched Output: Level-matching circuitry ensures the volume remains consistent when switching between active and passive modes.
-
Battery Alert LED: A rear-mounted LED indicator provides a clear visual warning when the 9V battery power is running low.
Premium Construction & Hardware
-
5-Piece Neck Design: The maple and mahogany laminate construction provides superior structural stability, resisting warping or bowing due to temperature and humidity changes.
-
Contoured Mahogany Body: The 3D-milled solid mahogany body optimizes weight distribution and ergonomics without sacrificing low-end resonance.
-
High-Mass Die-Cast Bridge: Transfers string vibration efficiently to the body for enhanced sustain and precise intonation alignment.
-
Alnico V Pickups: Proprietary HHB5 humbuckers utilize Alnico V magnets to deliver a clear, full-bodied tone with excellent note definition across all five strings.
Designed with Yamaha's decades of instrument-making expertise, the TRBX505 combines durable hardware with stable tonewoods to withstand the rigors of daily practice, studio tracking, and live touring. Its robust construction and highly adaptable electronics package make it an ideal choice for bassist looking for a dependable, multi-genre five-string instrument.
