EU Reconditioned Yamaha U1 Upright Piano; Circa 1979
Built in Japan in 1979, this Yamaha U1 offers the generous tone, responsive action and presence that have made the U1 a longstanding choice for serious pianists. It has been extensively reconditioned to an excellent standard, providing greater refinement and assurance than a conventionally prepared pre-owned instrument.
Tim Hough - Bonners Piano Specialist
This piano has been fully reconditioned by our European partner. The work included attention to the cabinet, an integrity check of the soundboard, inspection and correction of the centre pins, key coverings, key bushings and felts, pedals and hinges, together with detailed regulation work to the action, voicing and tuning.
The Yamaha U1 is a 121cm upright piano, manufactured in Japan, and has been one of Yamaha's most popular professional-quality upright models for decades. Its compact proportions make it well suited to the home, teaching studio or practice room, while still offering the sound and performance expected from a high-quality acoustic piano.
The U1 is particularly popular with students progressing through the higher grades, piano teachers and experienced players looking for a reliable, responsive instrument. Its balanced tone, consistent touch and well-regarded Yamaha action make it an excellent choice for regular practice and a wide variety of musical styles, offering impressive performance without the additional height and space requirements of the larger U3 model.
Yamaha U1 Dimensions:
- Width 123cm
- Depth 62cm
- Height 121cm
